AoE4 - 1v1 Ranked - Platinum I - Japanese vs OOTD (loss) - Stop Attacking Fortified Positions

This video demonstrates an error I consistently make, which is to keep pushing the front at Castle Age. This works sometimes, but against civs like OOTD you're fighting against heavy defender's advantage.
This is a classic military blunder I am falling intohere. Like Jocko says, never attack a fortified position.
My learning from this is to start fighting for the map rather than attacking the front when it looks like they've mounted a reasonably tough defense. Upon replay review, the opponent had a naked deer gathering operation way out on the west side of the map that would have been easy pickings if I had scouted it.
