      They were actually asking this question not to be derisive, but rather to be introspective and humble about their own self-growth. Just as we had sought to conquer them with pacifism, they had sought to enlighten us with self-reflection!

      Geographically the editors effectively placed the Tangut / Hsi Hsia as the Jin, the Songs as Hsi Hsia (or Dali), while the Jin was actually the Song because of the river.
      The Jin also conquered the Song almost a century before being treated similarly by the Mongols

    • @ScottyShaw
      @ScottyShaw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@patrickovsiu No, the geography of the map is largely correct. The Great Wall runs east-west, so the thick river you cross to attack the Jin is actually the north-south stretch of the Yellow River, which turns eastward when it intersects with the Wei River, represented by the thin river separating the Song from the Hsi Hsia and the Tanguts. This puts the Jin to the east in the Shanxi/Hebei area, the Hsi Hsia to the west in northern Shaanxi, the Tanguts to the west in the Ningxia area, and the Song to the south in southern Shaanxi.
      EDIT: The Jin didn't conquer the Song, just the northern half in 1125. The Song Dynasty continued on for another 152 years, lasting until Kublai Khan's final victory in 1279. The Jin Dynasty fell to Ogedei Khan's forces in 1234.

    • @patrickovsiu
      @patrickovsiu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ScottyShaw Still that means the Yangtze was omitted which was a significant inaccuracy.
      On a side note, the Yuan believed itself taking the Mandate of Heaven from Jin instead of Song. Many also see the Song between 1127 and 1234 a vassal of Jin. So it could be argued that the Jin conquered the Song, just that it did not annihilate the state like the Yuan did.

    Wow I assumed you had 100k+ subs from the level of your content. Seeing in at the end of this video that this was certainly not the case, you just got another sub!
    I really like this pacifist gameplay, it requires some in depth knowledge of the scenario's to pull this off. Also fun commentary, "the riches of the eastern regions' gold and stone mines beckon to us". It really adds some flavour.
    And I would say 1 kill is better than 5 kills, regardless of hero status, as 4 less kills is more pacifistic.
    Keep up the good work!

    I did not know that you could convert heroes in the AOK even though I played on this version for years.
    GG, insane work

    Killing just 1 (or 5?) persons and the whole world conquered? One must say the world has become a better place! Thanks T-West for his tireless effort on world peace!

    In the original cd version (idk about newer) you could take your assassins and run them behind the king and just kill the wonder and elephants 1 at a time and kill the castles to win without ever killing the fatty and sometimes theyd never even switch you to enemy if you manually attack with your units without ever setting enemy or attacking the king.

    I am very glad youtube decided to recommend the Joan of Arc pacifist run to me, cause I love the premise here. Despite owning the original AoK and AoC on disks a decade+ ago, I only ever beat the AoK on DE, but even then, you make it look easy to do a purposely hard challenge. Hats off to you, looking forward to Montezuma especially.

    This is a really cool idea, and alot more entertaining than the uprising of "No dmg" or RTS "no unit losses" runs. There seems to be a great deal of research that goes into this to find clever solutions to your pacifisitic ways haha

    Another impressive run! I wonder why the AI scripts for Jin has gunpowder and never got fixed though... However, I think in the newer expansions where they added a lot more "army only" or "no eco missions", it is going to be impossible... Some mission are even without monks. When strict pacifist is not possible, trying to kill as less as possible is still very fun to watch as you cleverly solve the puzzle:D

    Love your content!❤ I am glad to have found your channel! Your boar video which T90 shared brought me to your channel for the first time. Thank God that happened. Age is pure nostalgia, and I am loving your pacifist run series. Keep up the awesome work. As an Indian, I hope you will do the Prithviraj campaign too someday! I know that might be quite some time from now, if at all. But that's not a problem. I am here!😉

    Definitely my favourite of the original campaigns. Well done! So Montezuma next perhaps? I think it actually might be one of the easier ones since I'm pretty sure you can get monks in every mission and the Aztec monks get bonus HP as well.

    You know as a kid, I remember doing the Joan of Arc campaign and during the second mission, having a monk convert Joan and having to train a monk of my own to convert her back. Everything I looked into said this wasn't possible, but it was before AoC came out. This did infact happen!
