    👎🏼 I DO NOT buy, nor recommend plant SEEDS on Amazon, only live plants & cuttings from sellers well rated. I've had too many bogus experiences.
    👍🏼 I absolutely DO recommend Amazon on live plants that you can’t get locally. Several of our multi-year tropicals have come from good suppliers on Amazon (like (Logee’s, American Plant Exchange, Cold Hardy Farms, Costa Farms, Old Oaks Nursery, Hirts, etc.) and arrived alive and well.

      If you are using contact cement why do you need to staple it. Doesn't the cement hold it in place. Are the staples visible?

    • @Tiki71
      @Tiki71  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Answered in the 2nd video. It's backup for exterior temps & moisture. The bamboo is hiding the staples.

      @@Tiki71 Ok thanks Im doing the same thing on a smaller scale. Im also Debating if I should use contact cement or liquid nails. How do your think a razor would work to cut the matting or do I need power scissors? By the way, your bar looks amazing.

      You could use fabric shears if you had to. Thanks!

    Thanks so much for this! I just covered the stucco back wall of my patio with matting, and using that adhesive was a thousand times easier than trying to attach it any other way I can think of.

    Awesome work man. Working with lauhala matting on a much smaller scale, I wish someone would have told me that the pieces are not completely square. You kind of have to roll with the punches on that one. It's not easy doing all that ceiling work with one person, but I'm sure it will give you a greater appreciation when the project is complete. Looking forward to seeing part 2!

      That's for sure! I finished the project last night and started sifting through hours of video today. I had to break it up into two parts. Thank you for watching!

    Came across your video and my husband I love your videos. He built a tiki bar last year and now we are planning adding matting on the walls. I noticed your animated port hole on your bar❤️ would love to know where you bought if or how you built it.

    Did you not have to seal the matting to prevent mould? Thanks for the tips! Watching from Australia.

      It came with a waxy substance already on it.

    I know this video is a little old, so I don’t know if you’re going to see this comment. Any recommendations for covering a popcorn ceiling?

      My first thought, if you don't want to scrape it, would be to attach 1/4" plywood so that you have a flat surface to attach it to.

    Hey! We're doing this inside our home on the living room walls. For the baseboards, do you recommend cutting the bac bac matting and doing the boards separately? Or would it be ok to just go over them? The baseboards are about 6" tall and 3/4" wide. Thanks!

    • @Tiki71
      @Tiki71  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're using the same baseboards, I'd pop them off and nail them back on after the bacbac is installed. If you're painting them, a dark chocolate paint really pops along side the bacbac. 🤙😉

      @@Tiki71 thanks for the reply!!! our baseboards don't come off (old rental) so we were thinking of putting the matting on top of it. we didn't think of painting but what a great idea! Thanks!

      Contact cement.
