  • This is DeWalt's new Xtreme Sub 5/8" stroke compact sawzall. it does have power although it could use a brighter light, it also eats batteries because of the big motor but it is better then the old 12v saw that was under-powered. it is also a bit expensive and is almost the same torque as the atomic 20v unit just uses up batteries faster and makes them get hot if you use it hard.

To me the value of a small recip saw is "how small is it" and not so much "how powerful is it". Worx makes one that folds in half so it can get into much tighter spaces than pretty much anything other than a tiny air powered mechanics saw. If I don't need it to be in a small space then I can just use full size saw so IMO the middle-size saws don't have a lot of relevance since they'd never be the first thing to reach for.

Are the 12v tools really smaller than 20v tools? Kinda feel they're redundant. Milwaukee 12v battery has a completely different shape. That makes sense. Cannot say the same for DeWalt.

7:54.. You could put in your own nutsert.
This thing is for light work. Not cutting six by sixes...( the right tool for the job). This is for small jobs that you don't need a super Sawzall for
    (Ridgid fan by the way)🏁

6x6 for a 12v compact saw? This saw was specifically made for plumbers and electrician cutting pvc or emt rigid , not for a 6x6

Should of bought a milwaukee or hilti saw. That cheap dewalt is way under powered.

9:54... This is a one-handed subcompact reciprocating saw.... anything more than this and you should be using a full-sized recip-saw so.... underpowered? I think not ...it actually did a pretty damn good job.

press the shoe against the board when you cut. THat's how it's designed to cut and boy what a difference it makes when cutting.

Was that a review or just criticism of the tool? From the beginning to the end of the video you hammer the tool with bad stuff.

I love dewalt but this is kind of a junk useless tool honestly. . . Could've been 18 or 20 volt with the size. Much better off buying a dcs367 or dcs387 I think or even a dwe357 which is way cheaper and a much nicer built tool. Also if you've been watching Catus a while you will know he is a smart buyer and has no brand loyalty. He likes dewalt cordless tools but also frequently talks about how good the milwaukee's and black and deckers of old were. Every brand has tools that are the industry standard In their own class.

I've got one of these little 12 volt recips , I do residential construction and I absolutely work the poor little thing as if it is a big full size sawzall and it does not hesitate on anything I cut with it but then again I only run it on the 5 amp hour batteries
