It must have been fate that I turned on TH-cam just now. I have felt so paralyzed creatively for some time now, quite a while now. Your honesty and generosity of spirit overwhelmed me to tears. Tears yet again. I lost my precious husband a year ago. He made sure I had everything imaginable to do art with before he passed. Everything. I just need to stop crying… or maybe I don’t, maybe I need to paint and sculpt through those tears. It’s true, what you say, about the loneliness of being an artist. I think I’ve always felt ok about that, and yet, I think it’s important to be with other creatives too. I think you are right. I’m going to look into the Portrait Society and their conferences. You’re right. Thank you for lifting me. As Denny ended any conversation he had… PEACE.
Seeing these artists, I’m struck how deeply Singer Sargent set the standard for modern portraiture. Whenever I like a portrait, it almost bears a clear relationship to the master. Thanks for this inspiring video.
This video is so spot on. It's so refreshing to meet people who are not concerned with "if they are good" or if they "paint better than you," they are just happy to paint, happy to be doing a job they love. All the negative social media crap gets so tiresome. Hanging out with professionals and meeting new artists who are so positive is so worth the time and expense... It creates a boost that lasts for a long time.
Oh my - I saw you there! I've watched you on TH-cam often, but I didn't recognize you in real life. I agree with everything you said here, and I will look for you next year. Beautiful painting!
Amazing. Thank you for sharing all of this. I am so excited for you as you lead yourself and others on this art making journey. Checking out last years video now!

This year was my first time going. It was pretty overwhelming but super helpful and fun.
Wow incredible do you know who is the painter on the left side of the screen? Their portrait was mostly cut off.
looks like Kyle Ma's painting
