- This video gives you an insight as to why i'm in Laos.... this trip. I show you guys a little more of our home and work in Vientiane Laos. The additions to the Lao restaurant are not quite complete but we have one day to opening, so this is just a quick video of where we are up to and why i'm in Laos.... this trip. I hope you guys enjoy.

Hahaha ya right there my friend...That's what i love about Laos. No need for a watch or to remember what day it is, things get done when they get done, never in any hurry here.... I call it "Lao time"
I would love to be able to introduce you to the local drop...but be warned, they drink it with ice....and with how humid it is here, you don't mind that at all 👌
I've never had beer with ice, but I am always willing to try something new! Especially local brews and local foods!

I have been wanting to visit Laos for some time to take a step back in time but I am worried I have waited too long.
Oh no bg147....there are still many places in Laos where time has not caught up. You've not left it too late, you just have to visit the right places. Surprisingly they are not far from the cities... I have a few videos coming up that you may like.

I would would love to come by visit you guys if I do get married to my girlfriend/cousin in Laos. :D Back in the 80's I was still only a child still getting green card coming in the USA. Now how Laos has changed so much like buildings to streets with signs and street and highways markings on pave. Have you ever done a video on highways and streets travels yet? Not sure if I'll want to come back to USA if I fell in love with my old country how much have changed so many years have passed by when I left behind for USA.
I was going to say we will see you either end of Dec or beginning of Jan but I just looked at the website to see if I needed a visa to visit there. Apparently I do and the Canadian government is not recommending travel there. My Thai girlfriend says there's no problem but she hasn't been there for years. I just really need a stamp for my passport if I don't apply for a Thai visa.

Hi mate. Your girlfriend is correct, perfectly safe to travel here, Australian government recommends the same thing. They say it about many countries that are perfectly safe. Visa you can get on arrival no problem at. Cost you $30US. Not my restaurant, my wifes.....Neenee.

@@NowinLao I just found your site. Glad I did. In 3 years I can retire. I plan to leave the US and move to Thailand. Immigration rules are getting stricter the so I am looking for a plan B just in case. I have been to Vietnam and loved it there too. Laos will be next on my travels. Really enjoy how you immerse yourself in their culture and your appreciation of it. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
Yeah Thailand is becoming a little too expensive and difficult for retirement of late and a lot are leaving for nearby countries. It's very hard not to immerse yourself into the Lao culture when they are so friendly and accepting. 👍

Wow i know im late , but watching your channel has made me want to visit/live in laos. Im american laotian born in california. The stories i hear about it sound beautiful but your videos have made it way better than i imagined. Tell me, should i just save a bunch of money and move to laos?

Nah you're not late mate, I'm just getting started. It sure is a beautiful country Johnny, and you're one of the lucky ones that can just walk in and stay. I probably suggest visiting for a month or 2 first and really get a good feel of your homeland, things do tend to look much better on a screen. But in saying that, I don't know of too many who visit and don't fall in love with the place.

I’m in the same boat. Visited Laos in 2011 and have been hooked since. Haven’t been back but that’s Because I’ve been working my butt off saving $ because I know this time I’m probably going to stay!! Haha.

I really would love to move to Laos. Is there any advice would you give as American/Canadian citizen, especially for employment opportunities
That's difficult to answer not knowing much about you or skill background. Getting TEFL certified will always allow you to teach English over here. You don't need to know Lao.
Have you ever thought about finding seasonal work where you are from. Something that only requires you to work 4-6 months of the year. Save your butt off during that time, then live in Lao the remainder. Depending on your lifestyle, you can live comfortably here for less than $250 a week.
