    Check out our robot ELON competing at North Super Regionals in Cedar Rapids!
    Note: Where's the swerve?...The drive is modular and can swap between mecanum and swerve, but we found mecanum to be faster for strafing in this game. (modular demonstration video coming soon)

    I remember when i was in FTC, and we made intakes with zip ties and Duct Tape, used Tetrix, and having mecanum wheels was a major feat. This robot is nuts. Amazing work.

    Very sad that y’all didn’t make worlds... one of the most beautiful bots I’ve ever seen in this game

    damn.. its been 2 years and I finally have an actual understanding of how this robot works you guys are such an inspiration to so many teams keep up the good work

    Do you think it would be possible to get the cad files for the relic arm? I am designing a linear motion system and I really like the way you are doing it

    This is such a masterpiece! The build techniques are just so clean! Do you guys mind sharing the CAD?

      It looks like your drive train is powered by vex servos?

    • @karterkrueger8863
      @karterkrueger8863 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theclueless11212 The vex motors were used for the steering of the drive modules for the swerve drive version of the robot. You can see a view of this in a prior video. In this video, the swerve units were replaced by mecanum modules. All drive power is from AM 20 motors.

    How come no swerve drive?

    • @CybotsFTC
      @CybotsFTC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Swerve had a few bugs with the internal servo gears not holding up to the forces.

    • @kylerg2231

      My team is currently working on prototyping one as well, our first version is finishing being printed tomorrow, do you have any suggestions to avoid this?

      Here, there's many FTC teams that have experienced the swerve process and happy to help!

    Impressive linear slide assembly, what is the material of the rods?

    • @CybotsFTC
      @CybotsFTC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rods are 8mm carbon fiber.

    How did you use the linear actuator and the strings to extend and retract the linear slide?

    • @CybotsFTC
      @CybotsFTC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The acme rod extends the first stage and then the rest of the stages are powered by cascade stringing for extension and retraction.

    So you won't be using swerve at NSR?

    • @CybotsFTC
      @CybotsFTC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, swerve had a few bugs with the internal servo gears not holding up to the forces.

    how in the goddamn did you not advance

    • @CybotsFTC
      @CybotsFTC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We had some good matches... and we had a few bad matches of disconnect. Unfortunately, the robot disconnected the full length of our last match and dropped our rank below advancing. But, we're now excited to be competing in the Maryland Tech Invitational this offseason.

    • @CybotsFTC

    What material is the base of the drivetrain made out of (the black metallic parts)? Also, where are the drive motors for the mecum wheels located?

    • @CybotsFTC
      @CybotsFTC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The drivetrain plates are made from laser-cut delrin. The drive motors are mounted vertically just behind the rev modules and they are belted and bevel geared down to the wheels.
