The first time I saw this ending, I was so worried that Ciri might actually be dead...then seeing her under that hood gave me a great sigh of relief, immense satisfaction. Which is the exact opposite of the way I felt after ME 3, lol. On another note, I wished they fleshed out the "opposition" in Nilfgaard a bit more. Seems like they just put it in assuming we wouldn't think about too much. There should have been a Nilfgaardian version of "Reasons of State". It would have added more weight to the Ciri/Empress side.

Then I was so happy to see her become Witcheress and finally be free of all restraints, that it actually brought some tears to my eyes. God I love this game. And yeah, I also agree that certain parts of the game weren't very fleshed out. I can understand that because of the budget they probably didn't the resources to include so much, but it definately is a flaw to the game.

I think the beauty of all of the endings is that they're all plausible depending on how the player interprets Ciri. And the fact that we can actually argue a little bit over what ending is suitable, is fantastic, IMO. No matter what, Ciri and Geralt separate in the end, but on three different terms. I mean, at least here the endings have meaning and they all carry weight. It's not like Mass Effect 3 where it just didn't matter at all.... and to this very day it's still a big middle finger to the player. This is the canon ending to me, personally. It leaves it wide open for a game with Ciri. But at the same time, I love the bittersweet, emotional gut punch that is the Empress ending. I've never cried like that before over a video game. But notice that this is the only ending that kind of speaks of Ciri's future. The Empress ending never states that Ciri ascended, and the death ending does not say she's dead for certain.

I found all the endings great, even the saddest one. I usually refer to these endings as the complete opposite of Mass Effect 3 endings. Both are great series, but with Mass Effect I felt like there was no "right" ending that was satisfying, while with Witcher 3, all three endings felt like a suitable conclusion to the series (even the sad ending still had a true conclusive feel to it for those who like tragedies).

In defense of BioWare, they got their time limit moved by EA so they had to do come up with something on the run. It's horrible, even with the extended cut, but it may have been better if it weren't for those greedy EA fuckers.

Best ending for the North and also satisfying in delivering justice for both Radovid and Emhyr who are responsible for thousands or innocent lives. Dijkstra’s rule is necessary for improving bad habits and standart level of living of common folk, to finally bring back equal rights and just laws and industralize North. North will be capable of rivaling Nilfgaard from now on.
The ending with Triss is just as good as the one with Yennefer, Some people could enjoy the idea of retiring far away and live in peace and quiet until death with their mates, whilst others would keep on going with doing what they're good at until their deaths, at the same time holding on to their friendships and love lives, keeping their lives exciting and active for as long as possible.
I dont understand the emperess ending to be honest. I dont understand why she would chose to go with her father, who murdered her entire family and destroyed her home.
My first try, I was glad to have Ciri as future Empress. Witcher 3 was my first look into this whole setting and I had neutral feelings towards Nilfgaard. As a newbie I must say Witcher 3 gives you the impression that Nilfgaard is civilized and everyone else is barbaric.. However, I then began reading books and did Witcher 2. I don't see a reason why I should support Nilfgaard now. They have slavery, little freedom, and conspired to kill the northern kings, making the lands ripe for invasion. What's more, they want to kill their 'tools' (Letho, elves) once they served their purpose. Nilfgaard is pretty terrible. As is Radovid. So the best choice is to go with Dijkstra, he's an arse but a reasonable man and has ruled Redania before. He has no hatred for nonhumans or elves. All it takes is to sacrifice Roche et al., which sucks. Maybe Geralt wouldn't allow it, but fuck it I play the game and I don't have to perfectly RP Geralt.
hahaha dijikstra isn't an asshole compared to roche. and also dijikstra is a saint person compared to him. geralt wouldn't kill radovid and also roche is not his friend so i let him die.

I'd like the empress ending more if triss went to advise Ciri instead of Kovir (assuming you choose yen over triss). That way geralt and yen get what they want silence no politics, triss gets the political influence she wants, and her and ciri who are like sisters remain together making the transition easier on ciri to become empress because shes got a friendly face with her the entire way.
This ending is more impactful as at first it seems she is dead,and I had this ending ,I think it's because I didn't report back to Emyr in a mission ..

Finally finished this game. Got this ending. Although I'm happy that Ciri is happy, I can't help but notice everything around. Call me a noob, but Nilfgaard seems... preferable. I know in the books, they're monsters too, but I felt with Ciri as Empress there is room for change. Wonderful game overall.

It's the only ending Ciri is actually happy. She's looking forward to her future life. I'd say on a personal level this one is the most optimistic one even though, as a witcheress, she probably won't die in bed.
I really cannot choose which ending is better. This way she'll happy, experience many interesting things and live exactly the kind of live she wants, whereas in the ending where she becomes empress she does so because she feels it's her responsibility and she has the capabilities to become a good ruler. However, it happens at the cost of her personal dreams and freedom. In a sense her becoming a witcher is an ultimate waste of talent, because ... well, she was born for greater things. On the other hand the world will suck more or less no matter what one tries to do and you only live once, so is it inherently wrong to spend your life seeking experiences and adventures? I really dunno. I got this ending because I didn't help with the assassination of Radovid, because I heard that Witchers shouldn't get involved into politics, so I thought it would backfire on some nasty way.

The conclusion to a story can be a funny thing. While a good conclusion cannot redeem a bad story, a bad conclusion can destroy a good story.
the only thing i hate about the bad ending is you literally had to be an abusive dick head father to get it... It was way too easily avoidable.

This way she'll happy, experience many interesting things and live exactly the kind of live she wants, whereas in the ending where she becomes empress she does so because she feels it's her responsibility and she has the capabilities to become a good ruler. However, it happens at the cost of her personal dreams and freedom. In a sense her becoming a witcher is an ultimate waste of talent, because ... well, she was born for greater things. On the other hand the world will suck more or less no matter what one tries to do and you only live once, so is it inherently wrong to spend your life seeking experiences and adventures? I really dunno.
I got this ending because I didn't help with the assassination of Radovid, because I heard that Witchers shouldn't get involved into politics, so I thought it would backfire on some nasty way.
