Jelly Roll left the rap scene and began singing as a Country artist. He is trying to spread his message this way as his past was very tough. Drugs, jail, etc. He is now reaching out to touch people's lives with is music and message. He has chosen country music as his platform and country fans are very receptive.
Yep… and I personally would not classify his entire catalog of music as Christian; his early work is definitely rap but I’ve heard him say he doesn’t fit into any genre.
he is country. in fact he just preformed this live at the CMA awards and it plays consistently on country radio. plus he just won new artist of the year
Love Jelly Roll ❤️ He sings from his soul and right into your soul ❤Love You guys Love your reactions. Please listen to Save Me and Son of s Sinner and She. LoveU guys. God bless you 🙏 You have a new fan❤
I just heard this for the first time a few weeks ago on a hard rock station. I heard it again yesterday and then just tried to research it (completely wrong, I’m not really assimilated with the 21st century yet/ I just don’t want to). I did finally locate it, then you. Thought I’d subscribe. Never heard of this guy before. Love the sound but not sure which genre’ he falls under ? Yesterday I would’ve called him Christian Rock. Today I find he is considered country/RAP ? I’m gonna have to check out some more. Just suggestions but you should check out Tom MacDonald. He is an independent white RAP artist although he can step outside the RAP world. He is political, anti- hip hop , and as he puts it; “I’m not religious, but I walk with Christians “. “Dear Rappers” was his break out song, done with borrowed electricity, cellophane paper, and a single lamp. His lady Nova Rockefeller produces everything and along with one friend has created pure magic. It can be an interesting journey, should you choose to go down the rabbit hole. He did a collaboration with a man Adam Calhoun and they did a song called American Flags. You may enjoy.
Since you mentioned Blake Shelton in the beginning, some more recent Blake songs since you might’ve listened are God’s Country (written by Hardy) and Come Back as a Country Boy. I also just recently heard a song he did featuring Hardy called Fire up the Night which was really good!

It’s true “there are no atheists in fox holes”. You would be surprised how many time you can say the Lord’s Prayer at 70mph with a 75mph crosswind
