The $400,000 Ferrari 296 GTS Is Better Without Assetto Fiorano | Review

- A few months ago, I drove the Ferrari 296 GTB and found myself enjoying the blistering speed and the huge step up in the build and material quality. But the optional $40,000 Assetto Fiorano track package really put a damper (pun intended) on the experience with its overly firm suspension. This Ferrari 296 GTS is spec'd a bit more modestly and I find out how much better it is that way.

About the grading system:
All grades are relative to a car's respective category. For example: an SUV's score cannot be compared to a sportscar's. Different segments are graded differently.
I lean toward and prioritize performance on my scale. Suspension reflects the balance between handling and firmness of the ride, but also varies based on class of car (i.e. a luxury SUV is all about luxury, therefore the suspension score is graded based on luxury and not handling). Power is about straight-line speed, which is affected by power-to-weight. Interior takes into account aesthetics, ergonomics, material and build quality. Design is highly subjective and nothing but personal preference. Likewise, so is sound.

Huge thanks to Kellvin @ Ferrari of Central Florida!
This car has such a nice smile man. I miss that assetto fiorano decal tho.
Nice. Its best to drive in Qualifying mode (This gives you the full 830HP and recharges the batteries) unless in town when H (Hybrid) is best as amusing as onlookers cant understand why it isnt making any noise... . I agree, super fast out of corners especially in race mode with the elctric drive assisting this. Dont like the touchpad but the rest is great. AbuDhabi blue is my flavour.
Perfect car indeed
Great review but you need a wide lens and maybe new camera person too like just look at 5:52....
funny: in earlier days you were a Driver, today you are a Client (12:55) and an Enduser (13:28)
Favolosa 🏎🐺
I woulda bought this if it wasn't for that atrocious touch capacitive on steering wheel
How can it cost $400,000.. I have a 09 Mitsubishi Spyder V6. It looks just like this Farrari, except for the interior. My Mitsubishi Eclipse has all black leather interior. I'm glad I have the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder V6.
