Great video. Although it’s not really fair to call them counterfeit because they are not counterfeiting anything. They may be inspired by KFC and are copying them but counterfeit means they are pretending to be the actual KFC. In this case, they are not. Similar colors etc but the name doesn’t claim to be KFC, it’s KKFC even with a different bird logo. They aren’t trying to trick anyone, they are trying to directly compete and replace another food chain which is fair game. Keeps big food chains on their toes and offers a healthy amount of competition.

You should check out ‘kings burger’ in colombo/Sri Lanka… :) I only drove by and caught it in the corner of my eye, never tried it but actually got curious how they’d do against the original :)
I believe someone will like the original KFC if that's the KFC that they ate when they were growing up or if someone from India/Nepal started living in a country that had original KFCs and grew to like it. KFCs in India and Nepal are not willing to take that chance. They don't want someone trying the original KFC once and not liking it and never returning again. It took me a while to get used to the original KFC. I remember making fun of that "11 herbs and spices" slogan because all I could taste was the salt...but over time, during further attempts at clogging my arteries, I began to love the taste of the original KFC. "Too much flavor" was the most direct yet insightful thing someone from the west has told me about South Asian food. Western palates don't want too much going on with their food.
the reason the KFC is spicy over there is because they know thats what people over there like. its all a business strategy. go to any KFC in the world and the food they serve will be tailored for the people of that region. Thats the whole point. its not a mistake
If you make good food AND can get away with copying the branding/name of a global company, you will end up with more sales in the end, so can't blame them.
@@234cheech So you are saying that if you could double or triple your income by having a similar name as a bigger brand you wouldn't do it because it's wrong?
Excellent video. If I ever go to India or Nepal (which I very much want to do, but it will never happen), I am not going to either real or counterfeit KFC. I don't eat that here. That food is not good for somebody at my age, and even young people should do it only rarely, if at all. The preparation of simple food does less harm to the world. What does suit me is roti, dal/chole/etc, and a sabji. A cup of tea with elaichi at the end is heaven. That would be what I would seek out in India or Nepal. What I like to imagine is that is easy to come by in those countries. Seeing KFC and such food spread from the US to other countries, is a little depressing. Whatever, I guess people there like it, and joy to them. Maybe it is exotic and fun every now and then. @borngeek has a good explanation as to why the counterfeit is better. As to why steal branding, I think it is for easy recognition, which will get more people in the door. Also, red catches people's eye more readily than other colors.
Yes in third world countries people always refer to the development in comparison to America/Americans and i find it cringe. Its the media that did it cuz internet emerged from America and you guys had the first generation of internet creators and that influenced everybody that joined the internet later
happy because naturally your own culture is familiar to you and you are happy because other cultures like your culture., but sad maybe because it seems many younger people in Asia and Africa believe American or western culture and food is somehow better, when actually it's often a lot less healthy. E.g. How many obese people do you see in America? Many. How many obese people do you see in Asia? Hardly any.
i hope this encourages both sides, for Indian KFC to fix themselves and not ruin the KFC name any longer, and KKFC to show other businesses that they can do better or at least on par with the world class ones.

I was in Wellington, NZ few years ago and trust me not just kfc even the domino's was very bad without any taste compared to India's kfc and domino's

Sorry, I didn't understand the reference. Are you saying Domino's in India is better than Domino's in NZ? Or is it the other way around?
When Karl uploads he just makes my day!
The calculation of the taste of sauce during double down phase was bang on. Even I won't be able to figure that out although I'm quite good at maths. Lol
We have an SFC in Meerut. Never been there though 🤣
Thanks for the review, Pewds
Great video. Although it’s not really fair to call them counterfeit because they are not counterfeiting anything. They may be inspired by KFC and are copying them but counterfeit means they are pretending to be the actual KFC. In this case, they are not. Similar colors etc but the name doesn’t claim to be KFC, it’s KKFC even with a different bird logo. They aren’t trying to trick anyone, they are trying to directly compete and replace another food chain which is fair game. Keeps big food chains on their toes and offers a healthy amount of competition.

I love that there is a Pizza Hat and DFC in Sri Lanka
why did i think this was pewdiepie
Actually if the KFC comes to Indian Consumers with their Spices I would say they wouldn't survive here.
I've tasted KFC in UK , but Honestly I didn't liked it much 😕
So I think really the Indian Version of KFC is good for me 😅
My wife says the same thing after she had KFC in New Zealand 😀 She loves Indian version.
There are already KFC branches in India and they are popular.... soooooo ummmm, you're wrong.

Karl, Your better half is not a seasoned video performer. All the more credit for you introducing her to us. Look forward to the day when we can see a little rocklet or two. Do not tarry too long 🤠
You should check out ‘kings burger’ in colombo/Sri Lanka… :) I only drove by and caught it in the corner of my eye, never tried it but actually got curious how they’d do against the original :)
True. I find KFC in Malaysia is better than KFC in the UK and southern Europe.
If you make good food AND can get away with copying the branding/name of a global company, you will end up with more sales in the end, so can't blame them.
its wrong and its pretty pathetic of thay canny think of an org name............pretty low end and scammy
@@234cheech So you are saying that if you could double or triple your income by having a similar name as a bigger brand you wouldn't do it because it's wrong?
Is this dude Pewdiepie’s long lost brother?
Kkkfc next?
As an American, I see our influence everywhere. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. Is that weird?
Yes in third world countries people always refer to the development in comparison to America/Americans and i find it cringe. Its the media that did it cuz internet emerged from America and you guys had the first generation of internet creators and that influenced everybody that joined the internet later
Gringos everywhere
happy because naturally your own culture is familiar to you and you are happy because other cultures like your culture., but sad maybe because it seems many younger people in Asia and Africa believe American or western culture and food is somehow better, when actually it's often a lot less healthy. E.g. How many obese people do you see in America? Many. How many obese people do you see in Asia? Hardly any.
@@NewZman23 its sad because they don't have anything of their own.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Could KKFC be owned by Official KFC??
Capture all sides of the market??
Sounds kinda crazy, but it is happening in other cities.
i hope this encourages both sides, for Indian KFC to fix themselves and not ruin the KFC name any longer, and KKFC to show other businesses that they can do better or at least on par with the world class ones.
I really like this type of video. I would like if you did more like this so one day I can visit and know where I could eat
