- Avoid these Indian scammers at all costs! These travel agents you'll meet on the streets of India will lie to you, overcharge you, promise the world and deliver very little - if anything. They'll scam you out of your money! The list of online complaints against Indian travel agents goes on and on. And if you complain, they'll yell at you, and it's already too late because there's no such thing as refunds in India.
Just look at this scammer's store's name, "Department of Tourism." He's trying to trick foreigners into thinking that he's affiliated with the Government of India. But the truth is the Government of India's Tourism Office near Connaught Place only offers FREE ADVICE. The Real IndiaTourism office is goo.gl/maps/F2... or search "IndiaTourism DELHI" on Google Maps.
To book travel in India, please use popular online travel portals or reputable travel agents which you have researched and read reviews about online. Never trust anyone on the street in India - especially if the conversation turns to money and how "they can help you." New Delhi is littered with hustlers who'll take you to whatever travel agent will pay them the most commission - not the best travel agency who'll provide you with a pleasant experience.
Fake train and flight tickets are prevalent here in India too. Because of the way Connaught Place is designed, in a HUGE circle, you're unlikely even to remember where the travel agency that sold you the fake tickets is located. It's a very disorientating place. Plus there's no such thing as a refund in India and these travel agents are dangerous goons.

I had one scam me in CP. It was right behind KFC. The guy charged me $300USD for a trip that should have cost $103USD. Then I told him I was going to warn every tourist I see about the scam. Later that day he had people all over on the street following me trying to scare me.
I know the exact agent. They're in one of my very first videos. They're still there operating!

Rule of thumb to avoid ANY scammers when travelling: If YOU don't initiate contact, don't trust them.
How to avoid when they keep following.
So sad I traveled with a Dutch man and little girls were smiling and trying to sit on my lap but also grabbing at me. The Dutch man lost his mind in anger that had been building up over a few weeks. He spit on them and yelled at them and pushed them away. Then he yelled at me to go to the hotel room and shower because they could have bad germs or bugs. I looked at the little girls faces and their smiles were gone as they stayed about 3 meters away, looked like someone had tried to kill them kind of look.
I was going to confront the travelling companion, but I understood he had been pushed to his limit.
So I did as he said and showered and washed my clothes. Later I reminded him of this horrible thing of spitting on these little girls and the dutch man couldn't believe what he had done and felt so bad that he had lost his control.
He told me that they were grabbing to try and pick my pockets and that many people have kids so they are extra hands to beg and that the parents force them to pick pockets and pick up plastics to sell. And the kids are nothing but little slaves to these so-called parents.
It was a horrible heart breaking experience for me to witness all around.

I had a taxi pick me up from Delhi airport, I was going to the train station and they diverted, said my train ticket was invalid and dropped me at one of these scam agencies. They tried every trick under the sun but I just walked out. The airport had no open sim card kiosks so I had no internet, no mobile coverage, no idea where I was and nothing but the backpack on my back. It looked insanely similar to this one but it was back in 2018 so not sure if it's the same. Just be aware that even official, licensed taxi drivers will sometimes try and screw you over with these too!

I've encountered Indian descent in KL few yrs past - taxi drivers. We're charged excessive fare after an acquaintance told fare rate range. At first, we avoided engaging their service. But terrified at their intimidating/voice and manner forced us to. After our experience, we distanced ourselves from them.

the Scam Agency took 50,100 for a week 4 members and in 7 days they showed us nearly 13-14 places that's it

Yeah, I would never ever travel to India…too many ways to get scammed. And if you don’t get scammed you will just get pick-pocketed by a child. And if they don’t get you then the police will want a “service fee”. It’s always SOMETHING in India.
My advice to avoid scam allover the world it's to travel with a tour from your country so get on the plane then once you arrive at the airport the guide is waiting for you! In many countries these days, scam are everywhere, harass is endless...
Yeah I'm pretty confident dealing with scams in the places I have traveled (mostly South America) but if I were to go to India I would definitely consider getting a reputable guide just to not have to deal with the insane, basically harassment you can receive from scammers in India.....

10 years ago, I know very well they destroyed the travel of 2 solo travel people I was going to meet in India, then in my turn they tried and I had a hard first day in Delhi because this bad reception in my first trip. Fortunately I recovered and lived an amazing experience, but for other people ruined fully their trip, after coming from very far countries. Thanks Karl!

Omg. When I was in Delhi a guy took me into that same place with me and my friend. He said that I should pre-book all the trains in advance and that I had to take the higher class seat becuase it's unsafe. Then he said me and my friend take a taxi for 2 weeks becuase it would be cheaper. It said it would cost $40 usa a day to hire a taxi.
