    Had a fantastic Breville, white plastic cover, entire glass part lit up blue and the platform it sat on had lights on it like an alien craft, they often flashed on and off. Anybody know what the model was, doubt they still make them, loved that darn thing?

    Look nice, but they are junk. Mine started leaking after about a month.

      Sorry to hear. I have mine for over two years and still working fine. Maybe you can exchange or return that defective one since you barely got yours for a month.

    Hi, Are there any plastic parts inside the boiling area? Thank you

    • @Ad-Infinitum
      @Ad-Infinitum 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well yeah, you can see the lid is made of plastic. Steam will reach the plastic and possible chemicals can leach out. So disappointed.

    How do you clean your kettle?

    • @KPhan
      @KPhan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello. I usually use kettle/coffee maker descaling solution to clean the kettle. You will mix it with water and turn on the kettle. Do it two times and rinse out the kettle.

      I follow the Breville instructions:
      "1) Fill the kettle until 2/3 full, with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Boil and allow to stand overnight.
      2) Empty the solution from the kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to the boil and discard the water. Repeat and the kettle will be ready for use."
      And for those who can't be bothered doing the maths, for a 1.7L (1,700mLs) it is 375mLs of vinegar (1 1/2 cups) and 750mLs of water (3 cups). If you're using Australian measurements that is.
      EDIT: After I emptied out the solution the next day, the mineral deposits didn't simply wash out, so I wiped it out with a wet Viva paper towel so I didn't scratch the kettle. It cleaned right off! Then I filled it with clean water.

      I like the OXO one. If you make a lot of coffee and tea then find a gooseneck kettle instead.

      Hi. Forgive for the late reply. So far the kettle has been working great. I enjoy seeing the water boil. I use mainly bottled water to minimize lime scale build up. I do notice if I use tap water from the sink, I would see slight deposit over time. Having a clear kettle help you be proactive and clean the kettle before any major build up.

    I didn't find this a review really. You just showed that it boils and you mumble too much. As if you have a thought but don't complete it...like the mention of the filter when you said "like coffee" but honestly I don't know what you meant by that. The filter is for limescale. Pulling out the instructions and saying you don't care about them seems odd. Maybe if you'd read them you'd be able to produce a decent review.
