I have a smaller version of this one (max 1lt), works absolutely perfect and it changed my life since it's a lot of time saving , I can leave it boiling by it's own while I do some other quick thing, and i don't have to worry about spilling. Fast and easy. Totally recommend it!

@@barackthecomposer6642 actually glass is the best option!!! Way better than stainless steel as it doesn’t release any metals or toxins, and it can withstand very high heat. I just found out about glass kettles since they seem so beautiful to me, I wonder why people don’t buy glass ones instead 😄

I debated this model vs a steel one. Decided on the steel one because I’ve had hot pot + cold water shock destroy a glass teapot before. Also, i will drop it. Not might, will.

I’ve had this for several years, no complaints but recently it just started leaking dripping out the bottom. Must’ve reached its planned date of obsolescence like all other Hamilton beach appliances it works great for the time you have a warranty then suddenly dies like clockwork. Cheap but not environmentally friendly.

My mom and I both have this kettle, she had hers for several years before my sister accidentally dropped it onto the countertop (upright), but I guess the impact still broke the glass at the base. Mine is doing great after 3 years. A glass kettle is going to be more fragile than a fully steel one but it's much prettier so I feel like it's worth it for me. Now if only somebody could help me figure out how to remove this mesh filter, I've watched way too many videos trying to figure that out.....

    • @Ashley-mz8pk

No you cannot put anything but water in a kettle. The filter is to filter sediment from pouring out into your mug/beverage. Tap water always has sediment in it.

I too like this appliance. My only complaint is that it boils for so long before shutting off.
way longer than any other kettle I've owned. I tried to see if I could reduce the time
somehow but there is no way that I could figure out. I usually just shut if off manually I've I'm around.
