I was watching, thinking to myself, how on earth can this fit a newborn?, then, like magic, you finished it off, and voila', a newborn hat! I'm supposed to get an Addi in April, when the distributor I'm buying from gets her next shipment from Germany. I can hardly wait!
Head circumferences for babies vs. adults are not nearly as different as one might expect. You can find charts of head circumferences online. What determines the size, more than anything else, is the length of the tube. Moreover, the tension on the yarn, even with a 46 needle machine, can be a big factor. You can knit the same hat using, say, Red Heart, and get a hat that an adult can wear, versus one that only a child can wear, just by putting more tension on the yarn for the smaller size. The yarn weight also makes a difference. I wish that she had said what she was using…this looks almost like a fingering weight.
How many pins for hats up to 12 months, how many pins for toddlers, and then adults. I want to buy a machine but STILL am very confused on what size machine to get to be able to make them for all ages. Many thanks
So they are all the same diameter for each size?
Thank you. I needed this tutorial.
So nice. Have made a snuggle bag and will make your hat to match😊
Thank you so much

I really like your demonstration!!👍👍😊
I appreciate that you let us know if how rows is needed/ thank..😎
Thank you! seems nice and easy! I will follow you in your next videos. I do not see the time to share your videos to my friends ❤❤
Thank you for sharing this. It is the same type of baby hat I want to make. You eliminated the 'guess work's of figuring out the numbers. 😊
Thanks so much for taking the time to do these videos. I've learned so much from you

If I was to do a tow color hate with the 60 rows would you do 40 and 20 im making a Santa hat
Do the row numbers change at all if you're using a 48 pin machine?
Thank you😍
Thank you I'm making a baby hat right now.
It seems quite magical, this machine can make from newborn to adult on the same amount of needles. 🤔
Thank you for another great video!💗
What size is the yarn
Even with 46 stitches it fits a baby? Usually I use my addi for an adult size hat. How does this work?
I want to know this too!
