I agree. The whole album is littered with occasions where Dario’s solos are better imo. He’s more musical in his choice of notes and phrasing. I’ve loved Zakk and BLS over 16 years now but Zakk’s soloing has become less about tonality and just more about how fast he can pentatonic run to my ear.
Zakk has no fear of playing with another guitar player who is incredibly talented. That is so cool. A lot of players' egos wouldn't allow that. Dario is no joke, and he plays keys. Not just any player could play with Zakk and BLS and keep up with him.
The way they harmonize and double each other even during the shred parts of the solo is very cool. A n d the tone he's getting from his signature brand guitars is insane.

I finally got to experience BLS live for the first time a couple months before this video was released, and Zakk is a TRUE showman - he played his guitar behind his head on top of a grand piano while wearing a kilt, on his own stage set up by his road crew. It was hands down one of the best metal concerts I ever been too - and as I was leaving the venue after the show, I saw Zakk and his entourage getting in a stretch Hummer limousine. 💀🤘
I can’t figure out how Zakk can play so smoothly without his thumb pressing against the neck. I have never seen another guitarist do that. His thumb spends a lot of time away from that neck... wild!
I’ve payed a lot of attention to that also. My conclusion is how may years of playing at such a pace also he is a strong man. Fret less guitars he also plays so strong man strong EARS!! God bless Zakk Wylde !!

Man i wanna see these boys again, saw them on the grimmest hits tour in durham NC at the Ritz, amazing just amazing and it cost me all of $30 for a full set. The new, set lineup for the band is its absolute best even if Zakk is just churn'n out jams, they're still bangers, and they still rock the classics just like MetallicA, as much as Zakk doesnt ever mention MetallicA, he has a plethora of similarities such as his/James' dedication to their craft, making music that hits in any era, and being down to earth dudes, and they both seem happy in life now (James finally there)

The sounds Zakk has always gotten without finger tapping, sweep picking, or tremolo system, out of a standard set up guitar; is phenomenal
Purposely done to avoid sounding like the guitarist from his era and what most were doing ( mainly Eddie van halen)
Zakk does have a decent amount of tapping.
