      Giving up dairy for many people, including myself, helped eliminate eczema and acne since it's an inflammatory food.

      Any more knowledge on this? I have eczema that comes every winter because of lack of sun. I eat mostly meat but not sure where the eczema comes from.

      Lots of studies showing that salicylate from foods can be a direct trigger for excema and psoriasis, which is why an elimination diet like carnivore typically improves symptoms. Also.. almost all people with autoimmune skin disorders don't spend enough time in sunlight which is critical for the immune system.

    I’ve been eating carnivore for almost 2 years. I eat about 10 lbs of ribeye, about 60 eggs and around 3 lbs of salmon, occasionally chicken or tuna, and cool it all in grass fed Kerry Gold butter ( salted ). I get blood tests done every quarter because I’m on trt. My doctor is blown away at my lipid values each time I get tested. He says it doesn’t make sense. Sugar kills folks, eating natural foods allows our bodies to do what they’re supposed to. And I feel amazing, that in itself is reason enough to continue

      Same here I have reversed my type two diabetes I am down 101 pounds at 53 years old I feel amazing and my world is not centered around food anymore. Love the lifestyle

      Absolutely. Keto/carnivore + intermittent fasting is such a VERY powerful combination. This way of eating heals the body. It's not just weight loss, although everyone keeps zeroing in on that. Healing the body is the most important.

    Ok, I was super not into this until I listened to the private podcast and Dr. Saladino talks about gut microbiomes. Then I was all in. Best explanation of that disease I have heard so far on you tube. Bravo!

    Overeating whatever kind of food has never been a good option. As Southeast asian ( especially indonesia ) why meat become a main source of illness because how we serve the meat. we deep fried, recook many times, use coconut milk, too much sugar , too much Salt, and we hardly doing any physical activity.

      People in Hong Kong eat the most meat in that region of the world but are geberally healthy and have long lifespans. Deep frying using vegetable oils and sauces, drinks containing sugar are usually the cause. Remove these 2 things and you will notice a huge improvement.

    It's an interesting discussion to listen to. As a vegan, I was hestitant at first and found myself judging Paul, thinking "Oh, another highly caffeinated, stressed carni", but then I kept listening with an open mind and actually heard him talk of the negative effects of coffee and why he doesn't drink it. I fully agree with that, a lot of science to back this up too.

      @@nl294 ...LOL...I understand the laziness part! I'm 57 YO female, carnivore for about 1 1/2 years. I used to have days where I could almost not get out of bed. Just trying to move through my day was exhausting. Now I have steady energy most of the time. My greys have also disappeared and my hair has gotten lighter in color! I don't hold the belief that our body falls apart as we age...and since going carnivore I am actually reverse aging! I look the same as I did at 35...except I don't dye my hair any more! I think the thing I like the most is how my mood/emotions are just so even. I rarely get upset or lose my cool. I do have bouts of pretty severe oxalate dumping and I'm trying to learn more about that. I do eat some veggies on occasion...mostly when eating out...mostly lettuce or sauerkraut.
      I thought this way of eating would get boring and feel restrictive...but it doesnt. I'm quite content with the variety I eat and because I feel like a teenager again...I just don't look at food the same way anymore. Humans seem to have a huge attachment to food and their dogmas. So many criticize this way eating without trying it and that is just so wrong! I'm a scientist at heart and my body is my lab!! I haven't been to a medical doctor in 20 years...and now feel like I could go another 20 at least! Although I would like to find a way to get some blood tests. I don't carry health insurance because that is never my choice for "healthcare". I use chiropractic and acupuncture. My body actually feels nourished for the first time in over 20 years (my vegetarian/vegan years). I love the feeling of eating and then not thinking about food for hours and hours! My vegetarian days was rummaging through the fridge for more food as soon as I was done eating. Feeling full but starving for nutrients. Yay to all my fellow carnivores that are finding health and happiness by being able to think out of the box and willing to try anything to feel better! ❤

      delvingmind , exactly!!!! I don’t go to doctors since my second child birth. Always hated them. I got diagnosed with ovaries tumor before I had my kids and refused any medical intervention and got rid of it myself! Now that I’m on carnivore I truly know how amazing the body is and I’m not falling for doctors of any kind anytime soon. I’m so strong now, I just can’t imagine better lifestyle. I feel sorry for the vegans, most of them are really good hearted people... feeding their kids wrong, and advocating for such a lie. About the blood tests, yes get it done. This is something we need about doctors 😆 can’t deny them at everything. They still useful, but not entirely necessary anymore... 💕love, NL

      Are you using your brain properly? ofc plants have toxin, most of plants do and 99.9% of plant species are not edible. It's the same for animals, some edible some are absolutely not. Garlic releases allicin when crushed and it's a defense mechanism. Yet this compound has anticancer properties. You know why? This plant was not supposed to be eaten, when we did eat them it means the environment is hostile or difficult to live (in ancient times). Our bodies detect these chemicals and turns on genes or mechanisms that can fight diseases better. Have you ever heard of anyone beating cancers with meat?
      Use your brain a bit more 🤷‍♂️🚶‍♂️
      We have evolved thousands of years if n millions, yet this dude claim to solely eat meat is normal?
      When is the period human had so much to eat that they can pickily choose to survive on meat only.
      Oh or they just eat what they can find and since that is the case: Their diets might not be optimal at all.
      Oh that's shocking cuz most of our diseases happen in 60s while our ancestors only live up 50s.

    I love the address "Simpletons" Definitely applies to me! and when it doesn't, I try to improve. I like the Dr. What he is saying largely concurs with my experience of what food has done to me over the years. Meat is good for me. Percentage-wise I eat mostly meat and when I do that over a prolonged period of time, my body goes lean, strong and calm. But the whole diet thing still feels like a guessing game. I just feel I have finally guessed right for ME.

    Besides the obvious (cutting out processed foods, sugars, etc), I feel like it’s fine to eat many things as long as you eat regular portions. Paying attention to serving sizes can take you a long way with health. We Americans go overboard with how much we eat in addition to not moving as much as we should.

    I was a vegetarian for 25 plus yrs, vegan 1 yr and been on carnivore for 3 weeks. I've gained so much weight, bloating, diarrhea so bad BUT I've never had so much ENERGY and with that, I'm even doing my step glider during my remote lunches. I am very ill and so I'm hoping that the carnivore diet readjusts my gut microbiome and kills off all those parasite, spirochetes (we all have them), mycotoxins etc etc etc. I did cheat a couple of times with grapes and nectarine. I have at least 4 personal friends, I personally know who have had great healing in addition to the weight loss being on the carnivore.

I would honestly quit if I'd not put so much into it. Many have recommended going Lion. I need toalso do fasting. Thanks for asking.

    As far as losing muscle... I eat a plant based diet and get in 120 grams of protein a day. I complete in bodybuilding shows so keeping and building muscle is definitely possible without eating meat

      but do you have to supplement with protein powder or any type of amino acid to get in your protein? - something that wouldn't have been possible for any other human before the past 100 years (if that long). Not opposing you, just a thought.

      I used to be that way when I was vegan in my 20’s and 30’s. Sadly, it doesn’t last. I have friends who have been vegan since the 80’s…they are not aging well.

    Your wife is succumbing to carb withdrawal. I know the feeling well and it SUCKS. She needs to stick it out because after 3-4 days it stops. Or, you could do what I did this time around and eliminate different things one at a time. I cut linoleic acids first and my body healed a bit. Then I cut carbs and I healed more. Then I cut sugars from dairy milk. I had one day of carb withdrawal, and it sucked, but now I have no need for them. Now I eat carbs and I'm repulsed. I feel awful after.
    Perhaps it's a matter of conditioning like Dr Paul said.

    My experience is real when I say I used to have such bad stomach pain when I are a SAD diet. Gas was terrible and cramping so bad sometimes I felt I was going to pass out. Now I eat meat and no vegetables and have cut out processed foods. I was Keto first and ate a lot of almond flour, vegetables, and meat. Once I started Carnivore and left the vegetables alone, I do not have any inflammation now, unless I cheat. Peppers which I love, potatoes which I love and other vegetables kill my stomach and also causes inflammation in my muscles, legs, ankles and so on. I’m not constipated and only have to go less through the week. So if you are having the cramping going to the bathroom try cutting out the high oxalate vegetables and spices.

      i've done both. Turns out most "carnivores" tried the Vegan approach first, which in my view give them an edge on authority. You rarely if ever see it go the other way.

      @@stealcian74 ...I totally agree with you. The thought of just meat sent my vegetarian brain into a bit of cognative dissonance! But after so many years of being so depleted I was desperate to try anything and I also don't hold any judgements about what kind of nutrition my body needs...I will eat whatever makes it feel the best. I just thought plants were healthier and until you live on just meat you will have no idea about the lack of nutrition of a plant diet. You will not be able to fully understand it until you watch and feel your body repair from the damage of the plants. It is true that most of us are choosing this way of eating because a vegan or vegetarian diet destroyed our health. I wonder what life might have been like had I chose carnivore over vegetarian in 1996! 45 to 55 was the worse years for me...those where the last 10 years of a 20 year vegetarian diet...and I have never been a sugar or baked goods person...I always craved salt and fat...I didn't eat processed foods because I love food and love to cook everything from scratch. I'd say I spend about 20 hours less a week just eating meat! Imagine...gaining 20 free hours a week!!! I love it!

    Really interesting to me, even as a vegetarian! I had the reverse problem, I tested as intolerant to many meats and meat products (& I ate good cuts of meat too) and so had to remove them from my diet before all of my skin and gut problems ceased, my microbiome improved and my weight stabilised. I supposed that it just illustrates that no single way of eating will suit every human. I’ll still look into what Dr Saladino talks about as he is obviously highly knowledgeable and has done a ton of research. Thank you for yet more food for thought 🌹

      Plants have constipated me for years. I always thought, “Gosh I still need more fiber!” And…the gut problems would get worse. As I learned about the problems with fiber and too many vegetables, I have slowly - over about 6 months - eliminated most vegetables. And…I feel so much better! I have eaten very low carb (20-30gr a day) for about two years, so I didn’t have to adjust to being in ketosis. I cringe now when I think about a big bowl of greens, peppers or broccoli.

      Constipation isn't solely a dietary issue though, if you look in the literature, things like stress, anxiety, and other psychological problems can cause constipation and also IBS independent of diet and dietary fibre. Eliminating fibre is just a band aid treatment, any normal healthy person has no issue with fibre at all and the science is increasingly showing its tremendous importance for health and longevity.

      Cut all plants besides occasional fruit. And eat majority nose to tail. All meats including organs and bone marrow, bone broth, etc. eggs, fish. All of it. That will permanently solve all your problems. Humans aren’t allergic to meat, that’s the majority of what we’ve eaten for literally all of human history.

      Humans are omnivores, because we have evolved to eat everything to survive. BUT meat is ideal for us, because we have been eating it for millions of years.

    Genuinely thought there would be a lot of extreme vegans in the comment section...
    No doubt this guy know his stuff but I’ve been vegetarian for 8 years and I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been... I used to get ill every year and quite extremely when I ate meat, since stopping I hardly ever get ill and if I do it doesn’t debilitate me. Ima eat my greens...

      I have been 25+ years vegetarian, few years after my veganism experiment that was true horror, I felt well. But in time so many health problems accumulated on high carbs that is hard to count. And I was not aware that were plants and carbs causing me all that. Especially NAFLD was so bad I was close to cirrhosis. All recovered along with myriad of other problems on keto and later even more on carnivore. Some tolerate however better some less well all poisons and anti nutrients in veggies. Plants are not evil, they just do not want to be eaten, nor by insects, nor by animals and not by humans. As they can’t run or use claws, they are mini fabrics of toxins, anti nutrients, … to which animals and humans has via evolution adapted more or less successfully. Plants are not our friends on purpose, this does not mean sometimes they can’t be useful. Or at least non harmful.

I’m with Salidino and many others when they say that any intentional choice in diet is a huge step in the right direction. Most diets are pretty much better than the Standard American Diet. There’s no arguing that.

    Paul makes a thorough case for a carnivorous diet. Even IF it is the best choice for humans, there is a human cost to production of meat & animal products as well as serious cost to the planet and other beings we share it with. I agree with the many others who have said that we need to think not only in terms of what's suits us as invidividuals but what is best for the greater good.

      There is a "serious cost" to the production of plants also, and it is horrific -- the practice of cropping (agriculture) utterly *destroys* entire ecosystems of plants and animals wherever it is practiced, replacing that ecosystem with an annual monocrop which destroys soil and requires constant inputs of pesticides, fertilizers, and fossil fuels to maintain. This is what is destroying our world -- turning our most productive lands into deserts! In contrast, _pastoralism_ allows us to create healthy human food from animals that can live _within_ existing ecosystems and food webs, and actually enhance biodiversity and the environment, if done properly (I'm not talking about factory farmed animals). I suggest you watch some videos by Greg Judy (or Allan Savory, Gabe Brown, etc.) to begin to get an understanding of how this works. He raises about 300 head of cattle on land in central Missouri, and every year the health of the plants and animals (both wild and domestic) in the environment he manages is steadily improved, not degraded. This is _regenerative agriculture._ Even at its best, plant agriculture will never be as environmentally benign and sustainable as responsible pastoralism, so if you genuinely care about the environment you should eat more pasture-raised animals and fewer plants.
      As for your question about the "blue zones" -- no, the peoples in all but *one* of the blue zones eat plenty of meat -- more than most Americans do today; they're certainly not even vegetarian, much less vegan! The population with the highest life expectancy is Hong Kong, which eats more meat per capita than any other population on earth. Iceland also has a very high life expectancy. Conveniently, both of these populations were ignored by Dan Buettner because they don't support the false narrative that he wanted to sell in his book. Essentially, the blue zones theory is bunk -- bad pseudoscience that is constantly being trotted out by the vegans who have been deceived by it, because they think it somehow supports their beliefs. It's as ridiculous as the "blood type diet" of Peter D'Adamo, providing simple but wrong answers to gullible people.

      @@andreafalconiero9089 I'd feel much happier if the meat people consume was raised using responsible, sustainable methods such as those you point to. Unfortunately, this is currently not affordable for the majority of people and not always available. I struggle to be an informed consumer, all sides able to build a convincing case, able to quote research etc. I wouldn't be surprised if a balanced, unprocessed, ominivorous diet, based on plants and meat farmed using sustainable methods is the ideal way to eat for both health and the environment. But the question is, even if everyone commited to it, given the size of the Earth's population and the damage we have already done to the planet, is it possible to heal the ecosystem and "go back" to this way of eating and farming?

      @@SB-he1cn I’m sure the vegetables are what’s causing it. Does she eat corn, popcorn and other corn items. If so tell her to try and stop that first. Also if she eats nuts and potatoes they are very high in Oxalates. Corn does my sciatic nerve within an hour after I eat it. Strawberries mess with my knees and celery goes straight to shoulder pain. Weird how I can tell, but I can.

    My brother has crippling arthritis. I have been trying to get him to just eat meat then slowly introduce other foods but it is so hard to convince people to do this. They are brainwashed and they are set in their ways! They love their food even though it could be killing them slowly. :(
    Another thing is, I believe in carnivore. But it's so hard to get my kids to just eat meat! Lol

    At 15:00 , it has nothing to do with fat, people have trouble digesting meat because they have low stomach acid and low dogestive enzyme production. That is also why ground meat does better for him, because it is already partially broken down, or pre-chewed by the grinder. Many people suffer from low stomach acid, not sure why b it is not talked about more. Also many skin issues are effected by this factor.

    Maybe it’s safe to say that every diet, or lifestyle change, isn’t going to work for everybody 🤷🏿‍♀️ Some people might be at their healthiest with a vegan lifestyle, a carnivorous lifestyle, or an omnivore lifestyle. I think maybe that’s something that we should consider more when we talk about health, because it’s clear that people tend to think only one type of lifestyle is right.

    The dislike to like ratio is disappointing. Its a Dr. explaining his point. Thats a decade of medical school so give him a break. NO diet will ever work for everyone, so his nutrition opinion has a place to live just as vegan, keto etc. YOU do what you will with this information.

      The fact that he may have gone to medical school for a decade does not make him an expert in nutrition - especially since we've recently learned an MD degree requires little to no nutrition education. It's still geared toward drug therapies as a way to manage symptoms. Thus - our 'sickcare system' in this country.

But Paul is willing to step out of that box and question and bring light to how much we don't know and to challenge all the bad science that we take for granted. science has become a religion. Science is suppose to be about expanding our knowledge and evolving and growing with new discoveries. Yet...when our Healthcare system is creating billions and billions...there is no motivation to explore diet and nutrition but there is motivation to keep people sick and medicated. When money is involved always question the science. I also think that are many instances of what we get sold as "science" but is really only media manipulation with an agenda.

      It always makes me laugh when people don't understand that that number was an average, including LOTS of infant deaths and deaths by infection because they didn't have hygiene. Healthy adults lived well into their 80s and 90s on occasion.

      yeah they got killed by a lot of lions, infections, infant mortality, fighting, lack of modern hospitals to patch them up, etc.... They are plenty of examples of our ancestors having similiar lifespans as we do when you account for all the things you take for granted like lack of lions that are trying to eat you.

Species evolve over the course of millions of years and the optimal diet for that species IS the diet it evolved eating over the course of its evolution. The healthiest diet for a cow is grass. The cows physiology functions most optimally on the food it evolved to eat over millions of years. Grass will make a cow its healthiest self, not blueberries, or walnuts, or wheat, grass. For a hummingbird to be its healthiest self it needs to consume the nectar from flowers, not grass, or acorns. A killer whale is its healthiest self eating seals and other whales, not apples, not grapes, seal and whale. You actually don't know what the hell you're talking about.

    Thank you thank you thank you for having Dr. Saladino on!!! I am sorry but your support and promotion of vegetarianism and veganism has bothered me because you didn't allow this other viewpoint as much. I literally skip those episodes after I listened to the first one of its kind because for me it is not true and I just got upset that that information is being spread to so many people who don't know any better. I even tried been vegan and was eating WHOLE FOOD vegan. I wasn't even eating Oreos, OK? Because yes Oreos are technically 'vegan.' Just plants, veggies, and fruit. Nuts and seeds. No soda, no chips, no processed food. Like a good vegan is supposed to be. I was hungry ALL the time. I lost a LOT of lean muscle mass. I did this to help combat the type 2 diabetes I had been diagnosed with. It was terrible. My blood sugar started crashing and I couldn't keep doing that. Nine months after giving it the good ol' college try, I had to stop. Now I'm eating keto (and carnivore from time to time) and it's all resolved. Weight loss, all blood markers vastly improved, reversal of the DT2. No hunger, lifetime of migraines GONE and never came back, the chronic inflammation gone, no more 'just getting old' aches and pains. I am 100% for omnivore/carnivore and absolutely in favor minimizing plants and fruits. Dr. Saladino really knows his stuff. I applaud him. For vegetarians and vegans educate yourself and read "The Vegetarian Myth." by Lierre Keith.

      I went the other way. I cut meat way back and leaned more towards whole plant foods, no sugar, very low alcohol, no dairy and my lipid profile drastically improved! I feel amazing, no prob packing on muscle, my workouts have never been better, sleep the best, mood the Best. It's pretty simple just eat a moderate balanced diet. Not all meat, not all plants just balanced. Sugar especially has to go and your good. Ppl like Paul who says vegetables are bad and dangerous and only eat meat. He brags about his 500+ cholesterol profile. There are no long time studies eating like this. Good luck!

      For decades, fibre was a worthless _waste byproduct_ of the processed food industry. That is, until they found ways to trick people into paying money for it by bankrolling a lot of poorly conducted, pseudoscientific research (epidemiology, mostly) suggesting possible health benefits. Now they can sell processed food to us which contains even _less_ actual food, and more worthless or potentially harmful filler (fibre), and claim it's for our own benefit! People need to wake up to the fact that most of what passes as nutrition research is actually just _marketing materials_ produced by processed food manufacturers.

    Here we are the smartest animal on the planet. We know that many animals are strictly herbivores, such as huge muscular rhinoceros, giraffes, gorillas, triceratops. Plants are benefitting them. Then others are strictly carnivores, such as snakes, owls, frogs, some lizards. These have no need for plants. I am dumbfounded that humans have not figured out what we are. We are one species with very little evolutionary changes. We are scientifically and naturally either omnivore, carnivore, or herbivore. I have been on the organic plant based diet for decades. Gave up dairy, red meat, processed foods, sugar, wheat, gluten. I cook the lectins. Gave up fish due to the mercury (recent GMO salmon too). For every meal, two per day, I seek fiber, fat, and protein. I still eat healthy-raised chicken. For the past few months, I have had eczema. For years, it comes and goes. I was blaming my hair color kit. I would not mind trying this high fat meat diet, but how does one keep your body odor down on such a diet? A daily sweat is not practical.

      No one is saying you can't be healthy not eating meat, especially if your willing to supplement and pass the chemistry test that healthy vegans have to sustain. Carnivore is just better and so much easier.

      Funny you mention body odor on carnivore. I was watching carnivore yogi the other day and she is a vegan/vegitarian turned carnivore. She said she used to have extremely bad BO until she went carnivore and her odor issues pretty much went away.
      And I've read several other testimonies around the various youtube channels I watch that on an all meat diet they claim to never or almost never pass gas.
      Sounds like win/win to me :)

      When your body fully utilizes the food there isn't anything left to ferment or rot in your colon. My body odor was bad as a vegetarian (always constipated) and now as carnivore I might get some odor if I am doing something where I sweat alot...but it doesn't smell bad. I also think showers and body cleansers are way over rated...and create alot of damage to our skin. I shower about twice a week and I do not smell and I have way healthier skin. I also render beef tallow and add rose hip seed oil and I use that on my face. Nothing is as good for your skin as animal fat. I swear I have taken 20 years off my face by using the tallow and doing regular massage on my face and neck.
      Even though you are plant based I applaud your willingness to try carnivore...and I highly encourage it. You can't know what you don't know. I started carnivore by eating meat I found most palatable...chicken, pork, bacon. Chicken quickly became a kind of non food for me....you can feel that it is not as nutritious as red meats...same with pork for me. Although I like cured pork products I rarely eat things like pork chops anymore.
