I don’t envy you having to work in those fridge temperatures, but I am so appreciative of the time you give for our viewing enjoyment. I hope you enjoyed Christmas with your family. Your the best Thank you.
My dad used to work on tobacco farms when he was younger. He had a funny story, one time he was able to have a sleepover at a friends house who were dairy farmers. He didn’t realize that if you stayed over, it also meant YOU woke up at the butt crack of dawn to milk the cows too. 😂
Really good videos. I worked for a farmer that dried his cows up 45-50 days before calving never had any milk fever at all. I know everyone has their own way of doing things.
Hello Jan: I hope you holiday is nice despite the work day you have to complete. Let's wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year and the weather treats you much more kindly. It is such good news to hear the your "Lady" is improving and will recover. All the best to you Jan. You work so diligently to help your Dad to keep the farm going.
When you are a generation dairy farmer, you love your family, your animals and your land equally. It wouldn't be Christmas or any other holiday without that early morning visit with the ladies to start the first milking of the day. My grandfather once told me he often said Merry Christmas to his dairy cows before he said it to my grandmother! We enjoy your videos. Keep up your good work with your family.
Dairy farming is 365, The Ladies don't have Holidays. The Juno, one individual replaced the tires & filled them with foam , constant size & no loss of air pressure. Thank you for your videos, Belated Merry Christmas to your entire family!

Great video Jan and wishing you family and friends an happy new year when watching it .. never thought that Holsteins cows could stay 100% outside in winter freezing period … greetings from France 🇫🇷
busy Christmas day on the farm ! We had a little button bambi peek in our window Christmas morning...quite a nice visit ! Hope you made it home for dinner !
All that snow is so pretty...it's absolutely gorgeous but I would not want any of it where I live. See...I live in the deep south and no one down here knows how to drive, much less drive in actual SNOW!!! ❄☃🌨
I grew up on a dairy farm working all days including Christmas Day - it is not an easy life but still I would not have traded it - Happy Christmas Jan to you and your family and the staff at your farm
Oooo going from cold to warm humid environments repeatedly will wreck your zoom lens. Once the moisture condenses inside the lens it's hard to get out and left unchecked can cause mold and ruin your lens. I avoid it by bagging my camera, keeping it from moisture, and letting it come up to temperature slowly to avoid condensation. Don't know how you'd do that the way you film. Maybe one reason a [sealed] GoPro is better.
Hello first yall can keep your cold weather there we Minnesotans don't want it lol Have you always wanted to be a farmer like your parents? Do you like / love being a farmer? What is your favorite part and what do yo dislike the most? You showed us your home do you and your siblings along with your parents live close to each other? How far are you from the farm and do you have staff on the farm 24/7?
Despite you having to work on Christmas, hoping you had a very Merry Christmas. Sure glad that your treatments on 1332 are showing promise. You sure have some really cool looking skies up there. Your Dad's tags are clever.A sleve of PVC pipe would protect it pretty much.
Thanks for the update Jan! Thanks for all you do for those cows and for us that buy the product. Another question for you….. I know your dad is the boss but can we see him in the milk parlor milking some cows? Also how does that internal bleeding happen in the cows like that? Great video’s and thanks for sharing them with us!
Me thinking as the deer walk through your feed mill lane reading all your dad’s new signs would be like me as I walk by the dessert bar at a buffet reading all those signs. Got to love a good old blizzard but I will never complain about snowfall as I know our producers and Ag dealers need the moisture for next spring. Speaking of that I think we may get some more real soon. Bring it on.
Noticed a limping cow about 11:05 of the video. You were following her. So I assume you already noticed. But just wanted to mention it. I live on Guam and thanks for all the great videos. I watch both you and your sister. ✌️🌴😎🌴✌️

You will save a lot of time (money) with a snow pusher. Even make a homemade one that slips on the bucket then chain it down. 12 or 14ft push versus 7 or 8 ft bucket
that pile of snow you guys made reminds me of the winter of 1959 in eastern Colorado we had a drift 20 feet high across our drive way about 100 long my brother and I wore out Grandpa's #2 scoop shovel using it as a sled no school for a week Dad and grandpa pulled a pickup across the field the get to the other county road appox a mile away
My husband and I enjoy watching your videos. My husband used to milk cows and comments all the time on how good your cows look. Do you give your cows magnets?
Well done for getting all the chores done. A white Christmas day of snow is not much fun for you. But very special seeing one of Santa's deer!! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas Dinner. Nice video. Lovely sun dogs. Do you earn enough from youtube to cover the new drone? We had an unusually cold couple of weeks in December down to -7C, but so far no signs in the forecasts of another cold spell arriving here in south of UK anytime soon. A dull rainy 11C right now. Our wind is coming up from Florida. My rye should be growing nicely. Did you see they had 4 feet of snow in Buffalo again? Sometimes we get what New York has had 4 days later but not this time. 10th Jan might be a bit raw. I am hopefully off on my summer holiday next week to Egypt where it should be maxing out in the low 20Cs.
Hey man I fell for ya. We’re by Lethbridge and run 170 cows with 6 bulls. We did the same thing Christmas. Had to mix our feed in the morning and afternoon. But bedded Christmas Eve so didn’t have to do that. Dairy’s and feedlots are lots of work. I couldn’t imagine milking every day lol. Much respect merry Christmas fella
Hello Jan, I hope you got to the Christmas roast on time and that you enjoyed it. Let's take it a little easier in the winter time. (translation translation)😃😃😃

Such an informative video Jan! I truly enjoy watching your videos so much. Nice idea your dad had to label the feed bins. Good information of the total picture of what has to be done on a daily basis on the farm. Hope you made it home for Christmas in time to have dinner. Happy New Year to you as well.
Jan have you ever got some of the corn waste from a ethanol plant to mix into the feed for your cows? I used to haul quite a bit of it out of the ethanol plants here in California to the Dairies. There's a company here west of Merced California and Madera California that will feed 3 loads at 50,000 pounds a day. They say that it works out pretty good for them to put it in their feed for the dairy cows.
@@erwinlageschaar5550 DDG is different than the Corn waste from the ethanol plants the corn waste is wet and they couldn't put it in the silo be it would probably freeze in their weather.
