I’ve since found the computer interface experience to be…..not good. However, I’ve discovered that buying this pedal give you access to the Tonex app on iPhone/Ipad, and that is a much better experience for editing to me. So I’m editing there then moving the presets to the pedal. Hopefully they fix the computer editing experience.
I have the full version and I was pretty impressed with the sounds out of the box. I've bought a capture or two from highly lauded profiler people out there and honestly, I can't say they're "better" than the stock sounds. However, the noise gate is awful.
I will say I’ve since dove into the editor and I’m perfectly happy with the presets I’ve made. Being able to mess with the post EQ and VIR makes a big difference.
It’s a different playing experience for sure, especially after starting with the typical real amps. But, one can get used to it. It’s like the transition from a manual transmission to an automatic, there are still times when I’d love to have better control of my gears, but being able to just step on the gas and go is now normal 🤷♂️
@@Chucksguitargeekery Nice analogy ! Yeah , me too somewhat . I have the Joyo Regal King modler. No complaints about its clean sound , but over driven, some life missing ; except w everything dimed. I think the analoge section may be distorting. I was 97% happy w that for low V level playing thru my mini Wang , but after I got a Vox Nutube Silk Drive its been put away. Why model tubes when you can use them that easily ? The AC 30 box is my next purchase , then the maybe the Metal one , but I'm pretty sure 2 in series will give that much distortion.
Yes, the software probably is the most disappointing part of the Tonex ecosystem. Maybe this big update that’s coming will fix some of that? I haven’t tried it yet.
I use the full-size model without the computer interface. I'm happy with it. Maybe at some point I will try the software.

@@Chucksguitargeekery Is the app available on android as well?

@@Chucksguitargeekeryyes, I like the VIR a lot.
I find listening to the play back w modelers sounds pretty good, BUT, during playing theres a kind of deadness , it just doesn't sound lively

I cant use the Noise Gate at all no matter what settings i use, its the worst ive tested so far. Hope a firmware update will fix it in the future.
In the software you can mess with the release some and it’s better. But, still not the best.

Yea I've tried but still it sucks.. My Line 6 Catalyst own noise gate is so much better.
