If anyone is a bit unclear on what it means when some people are talking ‘traction control’ on the internet as it relates to these cars, you can watch this video from Davis Technologies on how it works on their system as well as the Holley and Fueltech (Haltech also have this type of system on Nexus and Elite 2500T) th-cam.com/video/5t9YsNlXUmM/w-d-xo.html
I was a bit disappointed with the Aussies tbh. We had no chance. Although a lot of our cars were not pro-mods and even if they were we have zero practice doing no prep racing on the streets with our cars. Tracy Grimshaw would have them locked up if we did. But bloody hell the yanks were stupidly quick out the gate so mad props to them. And it was massively impressive to see them run their cars here on Aussie soil. I like Calder because I live near to it but Heathcote is a better track
I reside in southern california but if i ever moved out of the states it would definitely be to Australia, i love the Aussies and your way of life.....cheers mate.
@@dennisharsch4926 one Question , why do you have to live in Australia ? No one is making you . Remember being in the stands many many Friday nights, in winter, lips blue, nose frostbiten 😂 I’ve spent a lot of time at this track over the years. Was nice to see a cool event there again.
It’s no prep, it’s not meant to be fly paper like a radial track prep. The Aussies don’t have enough data on these types of surfaces so are taking longer to come to terms with what they need to get down the track.
Seemed like they were getting the power down better at the end, you think that was more to do with tune or having more rubber down? Hoping it's more rubber, I'll be there tomorrow
Probably both. More it rubbers in the better it’s always going to get. Even just one pass gets you some pretty important launch rpm and driveshaft data which is what makes these cars work as well as they do.
They haven't had the timing boards on at any track in Australia, I don't think they do it in the states either, pretty sure they only do 300mtrs in the states, I heard that's all they did in Sydney
A mate said to me that they have 1/8th mile races because that's what they use on the actual street racing in the USA for no prep racing. Easier to find that length of road, make sure it's safe to race and quickly. I'm still not a fan of 1/8th mile racing though. Still impressive cars and drivers.
Thanks buddy i think you'll find it was supposed to happen in 2020-1 and the gov ? don't quote me were doing a 40 million $$ upgrade ? well covid came now im not over all the details but calda park were there from day 1 thx its a great place to watch from the hill ? with a beer

I was over there for 3 weeks late last year. Must have picked up an accent
Sick Video Broomy were they only doing 1/8 mile? Bloody Calder and there shit timing boards not working like always🤬
