Hi Alicia! Here in Finland we teachers work as usual from our homes. Couple of years ago educational system of Finland took so called digital leap which has truly come to fruition. All pupils of our technology and science orientated school (from the fourth grade upwards) have their own or loaned laptops. Every day we have Google Hangouts sessions, I teach using and making digital material. We also use Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom. Lots of extra work though (I have more than 150 pupils and students) but children have been very happy with this arrangement. Also parents have noticed that even small children have taken more responsibility of their school tasks. Take care and thank you for your lovely videos!
Love just watching you! I hear the clock, the birds - you. You make a difference to my level of calm. Looking forward to seeing your shorter hair!! ❤️ Your sketching is amazing. More please.
So many talents! You are an artist on so many levels! Agree with others that the sense of calm your videos bring are much appreciated these days. All the best to you too.
I really like listening to you speak. I bet your journals are filled with great ponderings. Ive been enjoying this channel and seeing the many ways you express your creativity.
I love your videos so much. I love the fountain pens, the inks, the stories, the hikes, the books, the journals, your house, your pets... I love the calming sound of your voice. Thanks for your videos, especially in this uncertain times. 🥰
I have done two things during this pandemic, go through cancer treatment and work. I don't ever worry about germs, my immune system is very good and I expose myself to germs as that is how you keep your immune system functioning well. And if I get sick, I will go to me natural medicine doctor for treatment. Which I also did with my cancer treatment. Also one of the first videos I seen of yours, your hair was short, and I thought how cute it looked on you. My hair is just growing back, it is now 6 months and 2 weeks of growth, it will take a year to get any length back. Have a wonderful day!
Your channel has a theme song! :-). Good for you for cutting your hair. It’s very liberating. I’ve been meaning to get mine cut, but I can’t now cuz all salons had to close for a month. I don’t think I’m brave enough to do it myself.
Loved this video. I agreed that sometimes you come to a point and just decide This Must Go! And it feels so right. And my Mom always said, it’ll grow back! I also liked it when you said you didn’t have needed artistic skills PRESENTLY. I hate when people think they have no artistic talent! Nice video, great journaling. thanks
Cheryl Clough thank you! I recognize there is always room to grow and learn and develop, and with time and diligence, one can accomplish a lot! Yeah, it was that time, “this must go.”
Wow, my hair is down to my waist, but I would freak removing 10 inches. And I do have purple hair, which I love. My changes usually include a tattoo or cleaning out a closet. Cutting my hair? Just no way. You are brave.
Very nice start with a single pen stroke ending is a very nice illustration. I was thinking as you started... were is she going with this. As you progressed it was like a time lapse. Thinking to myself it looks really good so far just don't mess it up. 😊 As you put the finishing touches on it. Boom Bingo!!! Perfect!! Luv it!! Very nice result!! Njoy & Have Fun!! Stay Healthy, Happy & Safe!!
I had thick curly hair all the way down my back and cut it to my chin the beginning of this year and had pretty similar feelings about it. Really love this pondering and relaxing art moment 😊💕
So inspiring!!! 😊 I feel the same way about other pens. I'm used to fountain pens as well. You actually inspired me to swatch out all of my inks, thank you! That video will go up later today.
Very nice video. Iam in selfisolation at home.. and it’s so hard.. I like being v myself.. and on my private time.. but I miss work so much. Iam a kindergarden teacher..
Elena Smartypants hey, I hope you’re fairing well. It’s hard, even for those of us who appreciate the alone time. This is just a whole new isolation to have to contend with, and it can be so difficult at times. Be well Elena.
Wow! You are really talented! I love your drawings! (I was hoping you were going to paint the dress, notebook , and pen too! LOL!) This was so relaxing and fun to watch and listen to. I hope you'll consider doing more like this! And Happy Haircut! I cut my own hair too... I just very much dislike the drudgery of making an appointment and spending part of the day in a salon. Looking forward to seeing the results!
Tess A thank you! I did end up going back and painting those in too. I’ve never recorded myself doing stuff like this, so I’m still sorting out how much to show, etc. I’ll do more in the future. And same! (In regards to the hair salon. )
Your videos are a great way to feel better after along day of home schooling and watch out of 3 kids . Please if you have time do more videos and thx for all the videos you are making 😊😊😊
We WILL miss those cute braids though. :) You pull that cut off just fine btw. (Just listened to your oral reading and had to get the story of the doo) ;)
Can you tell me what the brand of journal notes is? I just need to insert a B6 size like yours that could watercolor lightly. If you can detail information, please. thanks.
In Native American culture, they cut their hair when they are depressed or to show a change of time, etc. Very similar to why you felt the need to cut your hair. I dunno, just thought I'd share. Thanks for all your vids and giving us a glimpse into your totally rad life!
I cut my hair, which was waist length, into a pixie after the end of a 10 year relationship with a man who was so obsessed with my hair that I couldn’t get a trim without his approval. It was a liberating, exhilarating haircut.

I'm very curious to know about your inks, whether they're waterproof, and how you can trust them not vanishing at any given spills? I love the colors you use, but can't bring myself to budge away from black waterproof ink :( any insights or suggestions?
lol how often are you spilling stuff near your notebooks? i use lots of colorful non waterproof ink but have only had a problem once or twice when my hands aren't completely dry after washing them, or when watercolor creeps a bit too close to the writing. if that happens it doesnt feel like a big deal to just patch it up 🤷🏽♀️
I'm a teacher in the UK. Currently our schools are shut to all but the children of key workers. However, we are still setting and marking students work via Google Classroom. Is your school adopting a different approach?
Hi. New subscriber here. I’m currently at the hospital with my 7 year old son while he is getting chemo. He was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma right after Christmas. I just wanted to tell you how calming your video was to me. It’s hard to be here during the virus but we have to be so we are making the most of it. Anyways, just wanted to say thank you for the video. I would love to see more videos of your art! You are so talented. Also I was wondering if you would consider doing a custom doodle/watercolor of my son? I want a way to document his cute little bald head that is not a photograph bc there are hard to look at currently. It can be as abstract as you wanted and nothing intended to put any pressure on you. Something similar to what you did in the video?! Anyways just an idea and If not I totally totally understand!! If you are Interested I’ll send you my contact info and you can shoot me an email with pricing. And again no worries at all if you are not comfortable taking that on right now! Loved the video! - Leigh from NC
2boysmom hey there, sounds like you’re in such a challenging space in your own personal life, and what with everything else going on - I can’t imagine how difficult it is for you and your son. My heart goes out to the both of you. I don’t feel that my skills are all that great, but I would be more than happy to do something like that, as best I can. You can send me an email at: denaliwind(at)gmail(dot)com. And please, no need to make it a business transaction. I’ll just do it as a way to hopefully send a bit of sunshine your way.

That is definitely a Journal with Me. Good job. Loved it. These Journals with Me`s, at this time, help people not feel so secluded.
I think your hair looks great-and if I were your parent, I could not be more proud of you.

Angie Jo H. Oh that’s such an appropriate sentiment in regards to hair! I definitely felt it was more an emotional refresher then physical.

Beautiful drawings. Which kind of paper did you use? I could see that it works well with watercolour paint.
I love your drawings! So lovely. What kind of journal are you using? Not sure if I missed that somewhere :)
I'm very curious to know about your inks, whether they're waterproof, and how you can trust them not vanishing at any given spills? I love the colors you use, but can't bring myself to budge away from black waterproof ink :( any insights or suggestions?

Out of curiosity, what type of paints did you use?
Looks like she's using Gansai Tambi watercolor but I'm not sure if she uses the ones made by Kuretake or Kissho.
💕💕💕
Love your drawing! It’s complex to me. I’m learning how to draw leaves. Lol. What brand is the pen your using?
I'm a teacher in the UK. Currently our schools are shut to all but the children of key workers. However, we are still setting and marking students work via Google Classroom. Is your school adopting a different approach?
Very good. Is art what you teach in school?
Peggy Williams I do!
Nice video! Just curious - what subject do you teach?
Dawn Holder hanks! I teach 3rd, 4th, 5th grade. Mostly art, but some all other subjects from time to time.

Christine I’ll definitely do that, saving it for just that. :)
