I had a concept for Eagle barb's fall damage issue. Make the fall damage someone elses problem! If you fly up and fall on a guy, up to 40 feet of the fall damage goes directly on the guy you land on!
Come and get me feature is great. Makes me imagine the two opponents shoot out mocking one liners like Mortal Kombat intros, then them both charging to strike each other while shouting.
This is the content I live for. I can give a strong AGREE with the changes to Storm Barb; if the subclass' features are all passive auras, more range suits them perfectly. I wasn't aware of the Wild Magic subclass tho, just imagining some crazy fuck glitching stuff out and in from reality looks like a fun way to play, and surely must be some scary experience to fight from the enemy's perspective. Great ending, violence is a question and the answer tends to be yES. ps: A tiny part of me was wondering if we would see Skelly fight sadly that wasn't the case, but I'm glad he has friends to defend him though.
Thank you for the 10,000 random table spell effects. I have a wild magic zone that my players have to frequent semi-regularly, and this will do nicely.
Just in case it makes your day, i currently am playing a totem barbarian that is focused around grappling, im a eagle, bear, eagle lvl 14 barb right now, and my strategy is to grapple someone, fly (at half speed still) 40 ft into the air with the bonus action dash, and land on them, knocking us both prone, and dealing 1.5x fall damage to them and 0.5 damage to me (which of course i am resistant to), and i still get my unarmed attacks on top of that
Prior to this video, I made a Tabaxi Zealot who was a true luchador and his rage was reflavored to dramatically inflating his ego so much, he refuses to sell to weak-ass attacks and convincing himself that he is a god. He did learn later that the god that sponsored his abilities was basically a chad too, so he preached his new gym-bro god while taking smack. If I had to redo his character to include your new feature, it would have to be reflavored to either a smacking a corpse awake and making it wake up or telling a recently killed victim to “walk it off” and explain some shit.
My first character was a zealot barbarian but his battlecry was a DEEP BESTIAL DRACONIC ROAR because he was a dragonborn. anyway, thank you for leaving them mostly be, I love this

I may never Play DND or it's associate games but I always find myself attracted to these sort of videos, I like to think it's the charisma or character of the people in the video. So well done cultivating a cool character? Damn complements are hard.
I think what may help barbarian some more, after getting into a random talk with a DM, is two things. One, make barbarian Rage bonus equal to proficiency mod. Gives a nice bonus that scales when appropriate and isn't too overpowering. In fact, it feels much better than waiting until nearly level goddamn 20 for a +4. The other is fixing the base barbarian midrange abilities for a bit more cohesiveness. Look, Brutal Critical is nice and all, but unless Reckless Attack is giving out crits to a very lucky player, it's effectively an empty class feature while everyone else relishes in damage time.
Bro if this is your average video. Than you are criminally underrated in views and in subscribers. Cause dam I never laugh so hard in a while watching this. And not only that your solution are actually reasonable. But hey you earn my subscription.
7:45 I have a centaur barbarian who is a path of the totem warrior. He’s very dedicated to protecting the forest and actually carves totems as a means to house the spirits of deceased animals he has to hunt to feed himself. He gets his powers from the spirits in these totems and the eagle, whenever he rages GIANT eagle wings just sprout out of his side and he takes off into the sky!
Unironically yes, I have fought a person who was on fire. I was defending myself from them and I had a lighter and aeresol can of some kind (I didn't note what it was, I was busy freaking out about lighting a fool on fire) It ended the fight until they ditched the clothes and re-evaluated their life choices, and then re-attempted the fight when their buddies showed up and they all got faces full of eyebrow singing fire. I then rand and successfully hit. Love your content and general game balance ethos b/c it's well in line with mine lol :) This video is always great to rewatch :)Keep up the excellent work! It brings joy into people's lives
Honestly I like the bezerker rework. When I did a tweak of this I gave it a con save like how relentless rage (I think thats the ability?) worked to avoid exahustion. I also changed the 10th level feature out for one that lets you remove a single level of ehaustion on a short rest and all of them on a long rest. AS for the intimidate factor, also moved to 3rd level where you et intimidation proficency and the ability to use stregnth for it in place of charisma. Both are intresting but I think I like your better.
i personally thought that they could use it equal to half their con modifier rounded up and any past that they would have to make a con save to avoid exhaustion getting harder which each use past the con modifier ones.
Thank you youtube for doing your job and sending me this video randomly. My love of Barbarians is now outfitted with more rage and buffed subclasses. The magic table will never not be used in any game i run. This was amazing and all the details and balancing make sense and work perfectly for each of the subclasses. Glad to have found your Page
The new OneDnD version of Exhaustion makes Berserker Barbarian much more fun. But it does need some sort of way to remove Exhaustion on a Short Rest and maybe remove two stacks on a Long Rest.

I've been working on reworking pretty much every base 5e class and subclass for a while now, and these videos are a true inspiration. Glad I found your channel when I did, really big fan of your work! One thing that I have to question now that I'm on Barbarians myself is, how does your proposed Greater Wild Surge feature interact with Controlled Surge? Do you roll four dice, two per effect? Asking since you said in the video that this is an additional feature rather than a replacement for controlled surge.
This is REALLY well thought-out, damn. First vid from you I've seen, will Def be checking out more. If you haven't already done one, a general 'buffing martial combat' video would be great, since equalizing subclasses like this doesn't solve the inherent spellcaster vs martial power gap
@@bonewizard getting a fun quick overview of a 3rd party’s view on the pros and cons of all the different barbarians saves me a lot of time when trying to find small boons that don’t break the game.
Thank you for the Storm Herald buffs. I got a campaign with a barbarian who likes the idea of a stormy boy. The one change I am thinking of adding is, and hear me out, the ability to swap the Storm type with every rage. That's just my idea though
It might also be cool for the wild magic barbarians dice table to scale. Like that at level 11 or something the wild magic die goes to a D10 and you add two additional effects. And then a D12 at level 17
I have been going through and looking for/thinking of ideas for altering the classes to add more flavor and/or tricks to spice games up. A couple years ago a buddy of mine found the Net Librum and I have used Version 1.2 and 2.0 any chance I get. You are the first person online I have found that has also mentioned this and I am so happy it can get some more attention. It is totally a game changer and good for GMs that are quick with the chaos. also, still waiting for someone to roll a 1000 where "the stars are right!"
I was thinking about making berserk more like diablo barbarian. With jumps and huge aoe. But your suggestion is more in a line with original but better, so I stealing it for my players. Great stuff!
Yep, this and the fighter Bone Wizard versions are the ones I'm handing out to my players next time we start a new game. Can't wait for your views on the other classes. Mr. Bone Wizard, if you don't mind (and please use this if you like) I would like to suggest some changes in the same vein as you, little changes that fix big problems, that I think work and use in my table. Warlock: 1- Let them know their extended spell list for free (they don't have that many slots anyways). 2- Give them a free cantrip that represent their patron (Patron blessing) and all the invocations that affect the eldritch blast also work with this cantrips. Ex. Firebolt (for Fiend patron) with a range of 300ft because of eldritch spear. 3- In addition to what they already have, at lvl 20 get a type of Divine Intervention (external interference) but you roll a percentile dice and if you roll a number equal to or lower than your warlock level, your patron intervenes. Sorcerer: 1 - You add the new rulers from the Aberrant Mind and the Clockwork Soul to the old subclass, extended list that they know for free and you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level from a school of magic that your subclass is related to from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list. Ex. Draconic Bloodline evocation and abjuration. Wild magic, you roll two d8 the select two school that you can choose from, if you get the same number twice you can select one school of your choosing. 2 - You can only have sorcery point equal to your sorcerer lvl and can only have spell slots of each level equal to the ones that the spell table says, unless you get an item or feat that says otherwise. 3 - In addition to what they already have, at lvl 20 you get access to all metamagic options. Monk 1 - Step of the Wind and Empty Body are free but Empty Body is one use por day. 2 - Martial Arts die develop as follows lvl1 d4, lvl5 d6, lvl11 2d4, lvl17 2d6 and lvl20 3d6. 3 - I have no idea how to fix some subclasses and the lvl20 feature. Bard 1 - Countercharm: in addition to what they already have, if the bard succeeds in their roll and if they maintain concentration on the countercharm, other friendly creatures within 30 feet of you can reroll their saving throws against being frightened or charmed at the end of each of their turn. 2- Superior Inspiration: in addition to what they already have, anyone that uses oyur inspiration die can also add your charisma modifier. Druid I use three of the Treantmonk variant rules to help Circle of the Land and Moon, 1 - For Circle of the Land with your wild shape you can turn to creatures with the plant subtype. 2 - For the Circle of the Moon. Primal Strike: in addition to what they already have, when you hit an enemy with an attack while in Wild Shape, you may expend a spell slot to enhance the attack with elemental damage (cold, fire, lightning or poison, your choice). The damage added is equal to 1d10 points per level of spell slot expended. 3- For the Circle of the Moon. Thousand Forms: in addition to what they already have, you add your Wisdom Modifier to the Armor class of your Wildshape forms. I hope anyone that reads this finds it interesting.
Glad you like the changes, I hope they work for your table. I love comments like this, homebrewing to fix problems, good stuff. Warlock: 1. Agree. 2. Its a neat idea, if done well. Personally i just give them one more cantrip than it says on the warlock table. If they are going to get so few spell slots, then they should get more cantrips. Also check out the link, it has way to improve other cantrips through evocations. I think most of the ideas are solid. dawnforgedcast.myshopify.com/products/warlock-invocations-reforged 3. I think people sleep on eldritch master too much. You can buff you and your friends before a fight, take a minute, and then get all your spells back. I think the original version is great. You could give it cleric's features, but I personally feel warlock patrons don't care as much for their followers as gods do to clerics, but that's just me. Id say make something original. Sorcerer: 1. Agree. 2. Is this to combat coffee lock? if so, the better option is to just ask your players to not abuse some game rules. Your friends will listen. 3. agree, but they should still learn more as they level up. The current rate is to slow and you never learn enough. Monk: I don't wanna hit the character limit, so pass. Bard: 1. I Prefer this one we made. Our bard enjoys it. "Countercharm requires a bonus action and not an action. Additionally you can also use this ability as a reaction to 1 creature as long as they are within 120ft." 2. That's pretty good. Druid: 1. Not super familiar with plant stat blocks, sorry. 2. its interesting. Id have the run numbers, but it has potential. 3. maybe extra Moon Druid bit: The actual answer to make them better is to just give them more beasts to turn into. You think it would be easy to add on more, But NOPE. Currently working on the druid video btw.
I think the best way to rework Barbarian would be to add this to the default rage: _When you rage, choose 1 addition damage type, excluding Psychic. You become resistant to all damage of that type until the rage ends._ This would allow all Barbarian subclasses to keep up with Bear Totem, and make them all less reliant on the DM giving you the kind of damage you can actually tank. Yet at the same time, one single resistance wouldn't be enough to devalue Bear Totem's ability to shrug off anything, especially if you're uncertain what damage the enemy is capable of when you choose.
@@bonewizard I just read it and I agree it is very strong. About the hexblade my opinion is that it makes sense thematically to dip only one level in warlock to increase your power but I think fey, fiend, and GOO don't have strong lvl one features in comparison. My idea is that every pact of the blade warlock should be able to use CHA instead of STR/DEX when attacking with their pact weapon. At my table I made Dark one's blessing an ability usable prof bonus/day that creates a zone in shape of a cross that buff the warlock and debuffs enemies inside of it so it makes combat positioning even more strategic and the name fits better in my opinion
Always reckless attack, you're tanky, you should encourage your enemies to hit you instead of your allies which is why ancestral guardians are the best subclass.
That scene in the end is what makes me rewatch this again and again, pure chaotic violence towards the ones, who totally deserved it (no sarcasm, they deserved it) is as purest Barbarian as pure Barbarian can ever be, especially after a Wild Magic Barbarian. I'm gonna rewatch it again Also, I agree to all of your buffs, even tho I'm new to DND
Overall agree. But, couple things I would do differently. 1. I would just buff the frenzy to make it more worth it. You're risking instant death, after all. For every level of exhaustion you get, you get even more powerful. Exactly how, I'm not sure yet. Let's play around with that. Ideas in the comments, maybe you all can think of something. 2. For the beast barbarian... the first two natural weapons are fine. They give some good extra utility or defense in exchange for a bit of damage. A bonus to AC is nothing to scoff at, alright? And a d8 isn't awful. It's not greatsword or greataxe, sure, but it's stronger than a shortsword without sneak attack. Which, yeah, isn't saying much, but 2a. More specifically. The bite. The comparison to storm is particularly egregious. It could use a bit of a buff, I agree with you, but it's actual straight-up healing, not temporary hp, which doesn't stack. You can eat someone and go back to half health in theory. You are straight-up regaining hit points whenever you deal damage. Maybe just remove the "up to half health" restriction. That should make it a ton better. Plus, you don't have to use a bonus action. Just an attack, which you get at least 2 of per turn. Instead of just the one bonus action per turn. Yes, you don't heal your teammates like the tundra storm path ability does, but it is HEALING. Once you've got 2 temporary hit points, that's all you're getting until some other bunch of temporary hit points comes to replace it. You can't add on more temporary hit points to make a ton of temp hp, but you can have as much healing as you want as long as you're below your max hit points. 3. It doesn't have to be a werewolf. It's BEAST barbarian. There's not just wolves, remember, as beasts. Why lock into just aspects of a wolf? Why not a fucking great white, or a goddamn grizzly bear? Or a fuckin' gopher or great ape? All of those are much more than capable of tearing very new, very unpleasant holes into people. Most of them more than others. Hell, an ape can generally rip someone in half if they really feel like it.
1. I'd probably just make it so that berserker barbarians can become immune to the effects of exhaustion while raging. You push yourself to fight through exhaustion through sheer rage, only to pass out in a heap after battle ends, needing a long rest to get better. Probably would also make it so they can recover all their exhaustion in one long rest at later levels.
That does seem to be what you and others wanna see. I'm honestly nervous about that video, because the pressure and monk has such a dark cloud over it.
Thank you! Fun fact: Due to a lifelong pact i made with 2 of my friends (not a joke) i have been obligated to go release a video before the end of june. So, look forward to that.
Personally an idea is that you could use intimidation with either strength or charisma, because intimidating with strength is a show of strength it is intimidating physical presence, intimidation with charisma is a more mental presence it is the same but different, so it makes sense to be able to use either for intimidation

@@Kronosaurus-1924 except it targets hit points left not max hp, meaning if you are in the danger zone and rage is the only thing keeping you alive, then sleep would knock you out, end your rage, and kill you.
This video is fantastic, but the thing that struck me most while watching it was "why haven't I seen this channel before?" followed by "why doesn't he have more subscribers?"
Your animation is top notch, your humor is perfectly balanced, and I can't wait to see what you do next. Rock on, my dude.
Thanks dude. My animation is really just key frames in after effects. Its nothing too fancy.
@@bonewizard Still it's a lot better then other channels. If only TH-cam didn't do you dirty with no recommendations until now.
I had a concept for Eagle barb's fall damage issue.
Make the fall damage someone elses problem!
If you fly up and fall on a guy, up to 40 feet of the fall damage goes directly on the guy you land on!
thats very funny lol
The goomba stomp
Come and get me feature is great. Makes me imagine the two opponents shoot out mocking one liners like Mortal Kombat intros, then them both charging to strike each other while shouting.
If i played this berserker, I would preemptively have some quips at the ready.
@@bonewizard like that scene in The Emperor’s New Groove. “Ladies first”
This is the content I live for.
There will be a day where I must fight. It is inevatable. But it is not today... plus.... i already used up all my spell slots for the day.
Thank you for the 10,000 random table spell effects. I have a wild magic zone that my players have to frequent semi-regularly, and this will do nicely.
Yes, yes. Let the wild magic flow.
Just in case it makes your day, i currently am playing a totem barbarian that is focused around grappling, im a eagle, bear, eagle lvl 14 barb right now, and my strategy is to grapple someone, fly (at half speed still) 40 ft into the air with the bonus action dash, and land on them, knocking us both prone, and dealing 1.5x fall damage to them and 0.5 damage to me (which of course i am resistant to), and i still get my unarmed attacks on top of that
This makes me happy. Never thought of this build but its so cool.
The true crow attack pick them up take them into the sky and let them fall
7:15 I'm going to start calling dead skin cells "Offerings to mini Cthulhu" from now on.
My first character was a zealot barbarian
but his battlecry was a DEEP BESTIAL DRACONIC ROAR

So well done cultivating a cool character? Damn complements are hard.
Accepting compliments is had too haha. Thank you.
Edit: also try DnD sometime. You might like it.
I really love the buffs that you gave to the Barbarian. Especially my favorite paths (Wildmagic, Herald of the Storm, and Ancestral Guardians).
Glad you like them. Path of wild magic is my favorite. I hunger for the chaos.
I love the change to frenzy. So much better even of you take an extra hit every so often
Glad you like it. Hope you have fun with the changes.
Bro if this is your average video. Than you are criminally underrated in views and in subscribers. Cause dam I never laugh so hard in a while watching this. And not only that your solution are actually reasonable.
But hey you earn my subscription.

Speaking of the d10000 magic surge table. One of my wild magic sorcerers got to run with it. She blew up the moon. Highlight of my DMing career

The new OneDnD version of Exhaustion makes Berserker Barbarian much more fun. But it does need some sort of way to remove Exhaustion on a Short Rest and maybe remove two stacks on a Long Rest.
How have I missed this channel all this time. Thank you for some great humor and common sense

Roll twice. Choose 1 of the two effects.
Then roll twice again. Choose 1 of the two effects for you second effect.

Lol how?
@@bonewizard getting a fun quick overview of a 3rd party’s view on the pros and cons of all the different barbarians saves me a lot of time when trying to find small boons that don’t break the game.
Thank you for the Storm Herald buffs. I got a campaign with a barbarian who likes the idea of a stormy boy. The one change I am thinking of adding is, and hear me out, the ability to swap the Storm type with every rage.
That's just my idea though
Thats reasonable. Personally id it like they have to pick the storm aura for every long rest. Maybe short rest.
Warlock:
1- Let them know their extended spell list for free (they don't have that many slots anyways).
Sorcerer:
1 - You add the new rulers from the Aberrant Mind and the Clockwork Soul to the old subclass, extended list that they know for free and you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level from a school of magic that your subclass is related to from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.
Monk
1 - Step of the Wind and Empty Body are free but Empty Body is one use por day.
2 - Martial Arts die develop as follows lvl1 d4, lvl5 d6, lvl11 2d4, lvl17 2d6 and lvl20 3d6.
3 - I have no idea how to fix some subclasses and the lvl20 feature.
Bard
1 - Countercharm: in addition to what they already have, if the bard succeeds in their roll and if they maintain concentration on the countercharm, other friendly creatures within 30 feet of you can reroll their saving throws against being frightened or charmed at the end of each of their turn.
2- Superior Inspiration: in addition to what they already have, anyone that uses oyur inspiration die can also add your charisma modifier.
Druid
I use three of the Treantmonk variant rules to help Circle of the Land and Moon,
1 - For Circle of the Land with your wild shape you can turn to creatures with the plant subtype.
Warlock:
1. Agree.
2. Its a neat idea, if done well. Personally i just give them one more cantrip than it says on the warlock table. If they are going to get so few spell slots, then they should get more cantrips. Also check out the link, it has way to improve other cantrips through evocations. I think most of the ideas are solid.
dawnforgedcast.myshopify.com/products/warlock-invocations-reforged
Sorcerer:
1. Agree.
2. Is this to combat coffee lock? if so, the better option is to just ask your players to not abuse some game rules. Your friends will listen.
3. agree, but they should still learn more as they level up. The current rate is to slow and you never learn enough.
Monk:
I don't wanna hit the character limit, so pass.
Bard:
1. I Prefer this one we made. Our bard enjoys it.
"Countercharm requires a bonus action and not an action. Additionally you can also use this ability as a reaction to 1 creature as long as they are within 120ft."
2. That's pretty good.
Druid:
1. Not super familiar with plant stat blocks, sorry.
2. its interesting. Id have the run numbers, but it has potential.
3. maybe
extra Moon Druid bit: The actual answer to make them better is to just give them more beasts to turn into. You think it would be easy to add on more, But NOPE. Currently working on the druid video btw.
I think the best way to rework Barbarian would be to add this to the default rage:
_When you rage, choose 1 addition damage type, excluding Psychic. You become resistant to all damage of that type until the rage ends._
This would allow all Barbarian subclasses to keep up with Bear Totem, and make them all less reliant on the DM giving you the kind of damage you can actually tank. Yet at the same time, one single resistance wouldn't be enough to devalue Bear Totem's ability to shrug off anything, especially if you're uncertain what damage the enemy is capable of when you choose.
Nice video :) I would love to hear about your ideas for making every Warlock subclass as strong as the Hexblade !
We did some buff for warlocks but I don't remember if we decided hexblade is the strongest. I think it might have been undead, the one from ravenloft.
That ending was… so beautiful
Thanks! Im pretty haply with that part.
I'm gonna rewatch it again
Also, I agree to all of your buffs, even tho I'm new to DND
Holy crap this is a good video
This was great I can’t wait to put it in my game
Have fun
Which, yeah, isn't saying much, but
Probably would also make it so they can recover all their exhaustion in one long rest at later levels.
this great of a vid with this little views should be criminal. Keep up the amazing work, would really like to see your take on monk
That does seem to be what you and others wanna see. I'm honestly nervous about that video, because the pressure and monk has such a dark cloud over it.

Personally an idea is that you could use intimidation with either strength or charisma, because intimidating with strength is a show of strength it is intimidating physical presence, intimidation with charisma is a more mental presence it is the same but different, so it makes sense to be able to use either for intimidation
This was a beautiful video. I like many of your suggestions. Thank you for sharing this.
