    dammit Michael! I’ve been resisting getting an 8mm movie film camera….now I gotta get one

    I just got this camera from an antique store today! It doesn’t say Perpetua inside mine, and is missing a couple of features such as filter and film speed setting. Otherwise it seems identical.

    Very informative video. Michael do you know what is the model of this camera. I just bought one. It came with Grey colour spool. Is the grey colour spool daylight? Thanks

      The camera itself just reads Electric Eye Perpetua. I do not have the original box or instructions.

    How cool, after watching this I discovered that I have one. Any idea where I can get a CLA on it? The crank is missing, are parts available for these?

      Unfortunately, there are no repair options for Double 8 cameras, DIY or source another from eBay.

    I found one of these cameras, only that in the lower part where the brand is, it has a plate that says G.W. Smith

    My camera's shutter seems stuck, is there a way to fix this? It did not come with the film spools could this be the cause?

      Camera motor problem and lack of spools not related. Many cameras of this age get jammed up with motors that no longer run. NO know repair other than finding another camera on @ebay or in a thrift shop.

    when flipping the film, is that done in a darkroom/bag?

      You don't have to do that. Just go into a room with dim lighting.

    Just found a Bell & Howell 333 8mm video camera at my in-laws. Is this a collector piece? Any idea of value? We know nothing about cameras. Thx

      Great vintage 8mm camera but not a "collector's piece". Working models fetch $5. - $20. on eBay.

    I have this exact bell and Howell. What film do I need? 8mm what?

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need 40 iso BW or Color film - filmphotographystore.com/collections/movie-film/products/double-8-film-bundle-film-develop-scan-25-ft
      Shoot in daylight.

    I’m not sure but I think that Perpetua was meant to be pronounced “per-PEH-tua” like “perpetual” but without the “L” at the end.
