  • A few years ago, who could've guessed where we'd be with algorithms, platforms, or the explosion of short-form content? Today, we've got some of the top content creators to help you navigate the ever-changing world of content creation.
    In this episode, Tanmay Bhat returns to the podcast for the third time! He's worn many hats over his long journey, from a TV writer to a comedian to an ad maker, seamlessly integrating all those skills across his social media platforms. Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, started off by educating people about fitness and has evolved to having deep discussions about topics he’s curious about through his podcast. He’s a natural at making people feel comfortable and getting them to open up (as I’ve experienced on his podcast).
    We're also joined by Prajakta Koli, who's carved out her own unique space in the world of content creation, with her work extending from social media to OTT platforms and even Bollywood! And Nuseir Yassin of Nas Daily, known for making 1,000 one-minute videos in 1,000 days, is now also transitioning into the offline world with events, experiences, and businesses for his community.
    From the skills and tools one may need for building distribution to the nuances of understanding the Gen-Z mindset, we’ve got it all covered.

    I just finished half the video. I am glad I could listen to it. I would say, all of us are lost at some point, and everyone's trying to influence each other on and off media. but what really matters is to become that authentic person we can relate to.
    also about the creators on this panel, I'd say "GREAT JOB". I feel like Ranveer is very spiritual and has access to a larger audience willing to invest their time. On the other hand, Prajakta was trying her best to understand how this industry works. While Tanmay and Nas somehow were like super intellectual, and absolute geniuses. But what I admire the most is, Nikhil Kamath, asking such quality questions, making me realize I can stand somewhere too in this small world. Man, what an eye-opener.

    "This episode was a masterclass in understanding what it takes to build influence today! Nikhil, your moderation and insights set the perfect tone for the discussion. Tanmay, your journey from stand-up comedy to entrepreneurial ventures while maintaining your identity as a comedian is truly inspiring. The way you see the role of comedians in society is profound. Prajakta, your transition from aspiring radio jockey to a leading content creator and actor is a testament to your hard work and perseverance. Your enthusiasm, especially in promoting the book across various platforms, is commendable. Ranveer, your energy and authenticity shine through both on and off-screen. Your dedication to projects like Level and the strategic shifts you make to stay relevant and grow are incredible. Lastly, Nuseir, your perspectives on global issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict and your approach to building a secure financial foundation for creators are enlightening. Thank you all for such a rich and engaging conversation. It's clear that each of you brings something unique and valuable to the table, and together, you've created a podcast episode that's both insightful and inspiring. • @AmanSharma-sn8js
      @AmanSharma-sn8js 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @anilatarannum I was thinking the exact same stuff bro - like somehow we have grown up to be insecure about asking questions.
      I don't even know why does my brain interprets that as a threat to my socio-intelligence image - or why do I even have such an image??
      ---
      Tbh with some introspection & observing the world near me I have found some reasons for this -
      Like in Indian households the elders scold kids about asking too many questions - just because they are irritated - like someone's mom or dad would shut down the kid after a long day at work.
      And also they constantly comparing the kid to their siblings / neighbours making the kid always feel like he or she is never good enough-
      -----
      So as a result growing up in this environment - these kids (including me) grow up to do things based on assumptions just so that they dont have to ask (which is outright foolish & hazardous way to life) - or they feel dumb when asking obvious questions simply because their brain is now coded with ask = pain.
      ----
      But yeah I'd love to hear if you guys have any other reasons you've thought about this.
      -----
      That said - I don't closely follow Prajakta but I appreciated her SO MUCH here for just straight up asking in an instant - whats this and that!

      @@AmanSharma-sn8js Yep I don't follow her either, not my style of content. But this was refreshing.
      In terms of reasons, not sure. I'm sure quite a lot of sociologists and psychologists would have delved into this question 😅 What I do think is even from schooling in India, they teach everything, but somehow don't teach confidence. Confidence to be wrong. Because when you ask a question, it implies A. You do not know something. B. It might be a silly question. Somehow both these things are considered something to be embarassed about in our country.
      I live in Europe now, what I notice here is even the most inexperienced colleagues at work very confidently voice their opinions and are also okay to be wrong/correct themselves. They are not ashamed (of course not generalizing but I have noticed this). And me with more work experience than them and more command over the work, I feel I am not always able to ask/say in fear of being wrong. And believe me, back home I have always been labelled "confident/extrovert/bold" etc. Jab mera ye haal hai toh introvert logon ka kya hota hoga 😅
      But yeah these are my 2 cents, I am sure there are much deeper societal reasons

      I actually think they both represent the average content creator. We aren't all aware of everything happening behind the scenes. But their perspective gave an average joe the hope that you don't have to have it all figured out to make it big in content. That has been my take away from this.

    • @Ross__Boss
      @Ross__Boss 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Why tho? They gave some really good points too. Obviously it is seen that they haven't studied content creation as much as Tanmay and Nas, but they've still made it big. If they're stupid, tell me why the have fanbases of 13Mil+ and 7Mil+ respectively?

    • @lone_sap8376
      @lone_sap8376 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      kush, I think nas knows things at international level, and has knowledge due to the team he has, who has been working on this content space etc. well for ranveer and prajakta they are on entertainment aspect in our country. Similarly Tanmay consumes knowledge like anything, he introduces as a comedian, writes ad and works on ad agency which makes his horizon so wide.

    • @kushgumber
      @kushgumber 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lone_sap8376 agreed, I don't have much knowledge on what nas does and who he is, honestly but the knowledge that tanmay has comes through experience and he's been in the TH-cam scene for quite a bit now. Apart from that he's a really intelligent and articulate person too. I guess this knowledge might come in prajakta with experience too, again I haven't consumed much of prajkta's content, so can't say much. Not so sure about Ranveer, though. In his podcasts he tries to be smart and deep with his conversation but sometimes does the dumbest things and asks the dumbest questions that one can ask. There are memes on him on the internet for a reason. So, while his guests are great, I'm not sure if he is that bright or will ever have the kind of knowledge that tanmay currently possesses.

    Let me clear this up, if someone says the Bangalore traffic is affecting their mental health, they might be stating facts and not playing the victim. I travel 7-8 km every day to work on Outer Ring Road and it is the worst way to start your day. I have tried every means to make it easier for me - shared autos, bikes, cabs even walking! And it's not always possible to find a house near your office.

With your pointed and well researched questions , no wonder why you and your brother made it so big at such young age..

    My takeaways for becoming content creators:
    1. Find what you have access to (including talent) that no one else has, what identity you want to project (e.g. cbse, nationality, job type ) and pick your content based on that.
    2. Iterate your theme, look at trends from things like Meta earnings calls and get feedback from friends.
    3. Start with shorts and then go deep with content.
    4. Vernacular content is going to be big. Use translation tools like Heygen.
    5. Post content which is right but is a contrarian take that nobody is addressing.
    6. Use slick editing like jump cuts. Attention is low in young audience.
    7. Collaborate with big creators by figuring out what you can offer them.
