On both the Finch West and the Eglinton Crosstown, the station shelters seem more cosmetic than practical. They'll give protection against rain or snow falling straight down but not being windblown. Compared to Eglinton Crosstown cars, Finch West cars seem more accommodating because of fewer articulation joints and more lengthy rigid sections for comfortable seating/standing.
it’ll depend on the length of the testing phase especially with these new Alstom LRVs (can’t repeat what happened in Ottawa). as for the construction itself, not having 85% of the line being bored tunnels underground will allow it to be completed in a much faster timeframe compared to Eglinton, which effectively should have been treated as a subway given how much of it is already underground
Nice video! Not sure why they don't use the line 6 colours in design more and include the line 6 logo at stations instead of the black and white 't'. Metrolinx's design and wayfinding processes are really inconsistent and don't integrate well with existing infrastructure. (Ideally they'd use the classic ttc logo and sign at every station but politics i guess) I expect Finch West to be substantially completed in late spring, open for revenue service on time in the fall. They've been pretty lightning quick in some areas, especially with guideway and track installation.
Thanks for the request, Line 3 unfortunately isn't being extended to Malvern but I will definitely be covering projects like the Line 2 extensions in Scarborough!

@@Nik-ny9ue oh I see. All the best to you new Zealanders. Your new metro looks promising
@@grapefruitsyrup8185 you're trolling right
@@JayFow is it not? Eglinton is in New Zealand based on Google.
Doug Ford (or Ford Family) Memorial Express LRT moving faster than the Crosstown on construction right now !
I like how you say at 3:30 that "Track will likely be installed by the Summer" Which Summer, 2029 or 2041 ???
sentinel now has shelters installed.
I saw that recently! It's great that the eastern section of the line is mostly complete
It's so exciting seeing so many new transit projects happening in the city. The future is bright.

The shelters on Line 5 & 6 are definitely lacking but I think the ones on Finch West do cover more of the platform length which is nice
If I were a betting man I would bet that finch will open before Eglinton.
At this point that's looking more and more likely
It's very likely although I wouldn't be surprised if they open at the same time
I live near Finch Avenue West. I'm still in the belief that it will open in 2025.
It's actually supposed to open next year!
@@transitthinker After what happened to line 5 my estimate is 2025.
