Guess I'll be the odd man out and put in my negative 2 cents. I saw on side of the 15 footer that it seated 3. Interested in that but all I got to see was the exciting Ford dash and radio. Didn't really get a sense of size when you were inside the back. Oh, well.
The most disappointing part of most of the Uhauls is they don't include any kind of Aux input or bluetooth for the radio. Doesn't matter for local moves, but I can't imagine traveling a couple thousand miles with nothing but FM radio.

As a side note. The pickup trucks have either a 5.3 liter V8 or a 3.6 liter V6, the cargo vans and the 10 footers have a 4.8 liter V8, the GMC 26 footers actually have an 8.1 liter V8, while the 15, 17 and 26 footers have a 6.8 liter V10

yeah this is an old video, we now have lock boxes with the keys in there. But at the same time, if someone has the guts too steel our trucks they can go right ahead, they wont get very far, as well as they will end up paying more then they would if they were to just rent it.

Now the keys are always in a lock box. You will either have to be there during business hours to do your check in or you will do it over your cell phone. Once your identity has been confirmed and your credit card pinged, you will be given the combo to the lock box... don't have a reservation? You might not get a vehicle. You better reserve a vehicle as soon as you know you need one.
Don't know why I'm watching a UHAUL video when I'm 14 at 12:00 when I have school at 6:00. I noticed when you showed us the first 26" foot truck (GMC Topkick) you said it have the V10. GM never made a V10 for commercial use. Instead they used a 8.1 (8100, 496ci) V8 and Ford used the V10.

I appreciate the comment. The big trucks can be scary to drive for most people. What I would recommend is getting the full coverage insurance on it. That way everything is completely covered and you won't have to really worry as much about hitting other people.
@@yungmexican32 I believe it's either $14 or $28 per day. Two different coverages. The more expensive coverage covers the entire truck. I wouldnt recommend going without the insurance.

Personal opinion. I'd never get a pod. Your chances of damaging personal belongings is way higher, along with the price. The convince is good but you really don't know who's lifting your boxes with a forklift and putting them on a semi. Hope this was helpful. Don't wanna steer you the wrong way.

I have always used a moving truck in life, but I am going to help a cousin move cross country, and I wondered what it would be like to have someone else move the rig after it was filled up. Driving a moving truck a shorter distance is one thing, but crossing many state lines is another. Moving trucks are always equipped with ass buster seats. After a few hours, I just gotta get out of the truck to get blood circulating back in my butt cheeks. In some states, the roads are so terrible - by the time you reach your destination, you need a new set of kidneys. Thanks again for giving me an alternative way to think about moving stuff the common sense route.

They are always up for Auction, sometimes up for sale, you kinda just gotta find a location with an old one. I would say best chances to find a lot of them for sale would be in Arizona since thats were U-Hauls headquarters is located.

Hi, Caleb. I'm gonna need to move my one bedroom efficiency apartment. The only furniture is a full size bed with frame, a kitchen table and 2 chairs, microwave stand and tv stand, and a trunk. The rest are clothes, blankets, vacuum and steam cleaners, dishes, utensils, etc. and toiletries, dry goods, cat food, cat toys..plus two cat carriers. Would the 10 ft be enough? I'm thinking maybe 15 because of my babies. Also, my nephew will be helping me move. He said his car wasn't equipped for towing. Can you tell me what the criteria is? He has a "regular" car (like a little Honda or something). Thank you!❤️
I would recommend the 15ft truck depending on how far away you're moving. You'll probably end up making more then one trip with the 10ft, and the mileage adds up. Hope this was helpful since. As far as towing goes. I would call the uhaul your going to and they can tell you if you vehicle is capable of doing so.
Haven't yet... One queen bed, 4 chair ikea dinning table, at least 6 dish barrel box with 5 strolley suitcase, vacuum cleaner, small coffee ikea coffee table, at least 10 medium boxes with few small boxes as well

I’m going to be driving 2800 miles in one of these next month. I can fit my things inside a 15 foot, but I will also be towing. Is the 26 foot much more comfortable? Would it make sense for me to rent a particular size from a comfort perspective in your opinion?
Honestly if your looking for driving comfort and are towing. I would go with the smallest truck possible. Towing with a 26th truck is doable. But difficult for most people.

8 months ago I rented a 17fter from U Haul for a 13hr drive/move. I found that it's biggest downside was no cruise control.
Lmfao the only cruise control you have on them is the speed limiter. Foot to the floor the whole way.

I've always rented U-Haul for local & One-Way moves. I always reserve a dolly when I rent vs getting charged later as I always have since 1994.

we should get a uhaul discount for the furniture pads and dolly left in the trk taking up our space we now have to work around if we dont use them.
If you didn't want the dolly or furniture pads, you can rent a one way, in town. Not sure why they do that. Sorry I have no control of the rules.

Correction, the Chevy 26 footer is a very large v8, the Ford version has the v10. Chevy used the 8.1 big block and Ford has the 6.8 v10.

Yes they are fully capable of towing. You'll have to see if you can use either a tow dolly or auto transport.

15ft truck should hold up to a 3 bedroom depending on how much furniture you have. How many beds/furniture items do you have?
Im assuming you've moved already, what size truck did you end up going with?
Haven't yet... One queen bed, 4 chair ikea dinning table, at least 6 dish barrel box with 5 strolley suitcase, vacuum cleaner, small coffee ikea coffee table, at least 10 medium boxes with few small boxes as well
@@poulamidatta3033 i would say go with a 10ft truck if you think you can fit it all in, otherwise a 15 is gunna be your best bet. Hope the move goes well.

Who would want the old clunker 26ft when you have the new ones on the lot do you try not to rent the newer one?
The newer ones are oneways. More reliable for traveling around the country.
I’m going to be driving 2800 miles in one of these next month. I can fit my things inside a 15 foot, but I will also be towing.
Is the 26 foot much more comfortable? Would it make sense for me to rent a particular size from a comfort perspective in your opinion?
Honestly if your looking for driving comfort and are towing. I would go with the smallest truck possible. Towing with a 26th truck is doable. But difficult for most people.
@@CalebTomaschefsky-TH-cam Thanks! I did tow my car 900 miles with the 26’ Penske diesel. It was doable, but the cab was VERY uncomfortable due to the no adjustments on the bench seat. I agree that most would find that difficult. Especially reversing, with the trailer!

I have a question for you: in the past when I was making uHaul reservation for one way truck and trailer, I was able to price match with Budget.
I would like to know would uHaul price match for one way trailer only (no truck) reservation with Penske?
U-Haul should be able to price match any truck or trailer for any of its competitors, dont know to much about penske or budget though.

You can always reserve ahead of time, but it all depends on if someone else has it reserved already.
