    This comment doesn’t pertain to this video, but I wanted to thank you for making your update videos for your nursing school journey. Today I found out I passed my exit exam and I am so proud and happy! Your videos helped guide me through nursing school. 💕

    In Maryland the X-Ray techs start around $30-$35/hr, Cardiovascular Tech start off about $35-$40 in the cheap city and in the DMV area your looking at about $40-$50/hr as a new graduate. So whoever loves to work independently and don’t have lots of coworkers and doctors down your back, and have time to get a two year degree, become a technologist!

    • @oyato1
      @oyato1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lpn new grad in MD is $30-35 as well

      @@oyato1 That's what's up! And Maryland has places to live for every budget for an average 2 bedroom apartment. So if you choose to live well below your means and make $30+ /hr, that is an awesome savings until you're ready to purchase a home. I have a family household income of over $100,000 a year and living in a regular (not Getto nor fancy) 2 bedroom apartment for $900+/month. Living well below our means got us to the point where we will be ready to move out of here to purchase a home flat cash in 2 years! Working on the savings for the taxes and then we'll be ready! Just excited to live in a state that recognizes the majority of medical positions you can think of and have places to fit many family budgets! Originally from California. Best home movement I made this far for my career!

    In my works place at a nursing home in NYC LPN makes $36 an hour. You also need to factor the living conditions in NYC is much higher.

    • @MelisaMarie
      @MelisaMarie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup. My job offered in NYC were 48-60ish to be appropriate for the cost of living.

    That’s crazy Baltimore cheap af. I live out here in Maryland and even a new graduate Cardiovascular Technologist get paid more than a nurse in Maryland. That’s why I’m sticking with the techs until I become a PA!

    Hi! This is my first video I’m seeing of yours and I’m very curious. If you were offered up to $60 an hour why not go for a higher pay?

    • @MelisaMarie
      @MelisaMarie  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hello darling! Accepting a job isn’t just about pay. If the pay/benefits/location/cost of living/shift & hour requirements/SPECIALTY/ratios don’t align with what I want for myself, then it’s not something I’d accept, no matter how high the rate. 🤍

    Can you please share the hospital you work for in BALTIMORE? I think $33 is low for a BSN new grad.

    • @MelisaMarie
      @MelisaMarie  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      No, I won’t share where I work for safety purposes. It’s just about average across the country. In Atlanta and South Florida I was being offered 21-28$ and hour.

    • @nicholeknight1893
      @nicholeknight1893 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @MelisaMarie OMG that's awful. $21 a hour is nothing for the amount of work with a BSN

      So in Baltimore Sinai pays $33 for new grad and 20k sign on for 2 yrs or 30k for 3 yrs. Every other hospital system (medstar, Ascesion, University of Maryland, hopkins) pays around 34-35 some have lower sign ons and some don’t.
