      So sorry to hear you guys complain deeply of failing the exam.But I will assure you that Nclex exam won't be a problem to you anymore,if you work with someone like Mrs Maria Maddison.

      After using uworld twice and failing, I never knew i could ever pass the NCLEX but today I am very happy, I just passed my NCLEX on my third attempt with a great help from Mrs Maria Maddison.

    I really appreciate you doing a paycheck breakdown for a new grad nurse. Not many people would do this. Thanks

      You’re welcome! I’m all about pay transparency. People have to know what is fair pay/how to negotiate.

    Thanks for the update. Your pay is awesome for the city/state you live in. In Vegas, our new grad pay is $44.04, our differentials are about the same as yours. Our short staff bonus is $40/hr. Basic taxes are 7.65% for soc/Med. We don't have state/city tax, which is awesome!

      Back in the day I would say that pay sound good but Vegas cost of living actually is catching up with everyone else cost of living. But at the end of the day Vegas does seem to pay pretty well and still a little bit cheaper cost of living than many other city/state

      I didn’t know Vegas didn’t have those taxes! That’s awesome. It’s on my list for possible retirement places 😝

    Thank you for sharing! Are you in a residency program? Because I thought during a residency program you aren’t allowed to work overtime. Also in Atlanta all critical care units usually get additional specialty rate of $5

    • @MelisaMarie
      @MelisaMarie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I am ima residency program. It’s not really useful to anything practice-wise. Most facilities allow for overtime, so long as your complete your orientation. My orientation was 12 weeks.

      No extra bonus pay of any kind just for working in an ICU at my daughter's hospital in Florida, unless they are just screwing her as an under informed new grad! But now she has been there 2 years, so I believe someone would have alerted her to that by now, if they were just taking advantage of her not knowing to speak up about that. But this is Florida, where the cost of living has completely skyrocketed, they are constantly understaffed, and management does not care that this creates an unsafe environment plus adds to burn out and lower employee retention, and also pays lower than almost every state!! So woohoo!!! Avoid moving to Florida as it is only going to get more expensive to live here as the global weather patterns deteriorate for this part of the country, causing more infrastructure damage every citizen who remains will be forced to help pay for, one way or another!

    thats not alot (this is not shade to you) but as a nurse checks should be at least 5k in my opinion

    • @MelisaMarie
      @MelisaMarie  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In all of our opinions, lmao. The reality is most staff nurses make 1,500-2,000 a check. We all know that we are underpaid!!!! 😂🫠

    $33...NO, I'm sorry but even NOW I get as a LPN more than $33. RNs do not know nor understand they value when it comes to base pay. They are willing to accept the minimum when hospitals and other areas will pay A LOT MORE.

      When you’re a new grad, you don’t have room for negotiation hun. Now that I have my experience, I can find jobs that suit my income needs. 🤍

    I live in Maryland as well and as a new graduate Cardiovascular Technologist you can make $36.05-$37+ per hour base pay in Baltimore and DC you can make $46-$50/ hr as a new graduate Cardiovascular Technologist with an associates degree. Crazy how a tech can make more than a nurse as a new graduate. When I graduated the program that pay will be $1-$2 more base pay and I am looking forward to the pay raise and working in the Cath Lab! BTW I work in the Monitoring room in Tele and be calling a nurse with your the same name like yourself. If you are a Tele nurse maybe I be actually be speaking to you on the night shift when the patient monitor goes off lol. Hope you enjoy your career as a nurse bc these nurses sound miserable when I have to call and let their patient know they have ST elevation and some more smh. Yeszir

    • @MelisaMarie
      @MelisaMarie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, no I do not work in tele. And I love my job! So def not me on the phone. Thanks for sharing. 🤍

      That’s good bc I swear nurses be miserable bc of the overload of work and if they do not love their job’s they be rude as ever to their coworkers and techs smh.

      Crazy thing about nursing is…it’s VERSATILE!!! If WE ever feel miserable in a particular field of nursing we can just use our credentials and choose another field of nursing…like administration, teaching, legal consultation, mid wives, entrepreneurs…etc…opportunities are endless…WE make our own checks and not restricted to specific profession… it’s nursing for the WIN EVERY TIME!!!!#CHAMBERLAINGRAD
