Looks like it is well worth a visit. Did you have someone holding your camera this time? Cold not see you holding it. Poor Edward the Second! No wonder there are ghosts haunting the castle, with that violent history. Many thanks for another well made and interesting video.
Thank you 😁 The medieval times were brutal. Yes, you can hear my daughter babbling earlier on in the video- she didn't was in for some of it, but she didn't want to be in it. She helped with a couple of takes 😁
Hello Sam!! Well, that Isabella sounds nice! Wouldn't want to bump into her in my time machine. At least I'd never get bumped off for telling bad jokes. 🤣 Thank you for another fascinating history lesson, beautifully shot once again! xx
Yeah, she was a real treasure. But in all fairness, Edward was more into guys and that's what happens when a Queen is scorned 😆 Careful joking around her! 😂 thanks Al, glad you enjoyed it 😊 xx
Very interesting and well-crafted video. As you remind us, in medieval times, some visits to this imposing fortress could be rather less than enjoyable. Today's equivalents tend to be more anonymous...but that's another story perhaps.
Hey Chris, thank you, glad you enjoyed it! It's open on certain days of the week & 1 day at the weekend, so check on their website. If you giftaid the ticket it becomes a yearly pass too 😁
Fascinating, Sam! I didn't know about this castle. What an awful way to die for King Edward. Love how you cut and edit the video, with the different angles, etc. Brilliant! Those faces on that cabinet - very weird. Thank you for showing us round this amazing place!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊It is a fascinating story indeed. I learned about when i was in Nottingham and I was dying to tell - figuratively speaking of course 😂
That looks like the kind of place I could spend ages in,it would be awesome at night😬👻thank you for sharing another brilliant adventure 🙏🏻not long now until you reach 1000 subscribers🙂🤞🏻🎉by the way,I thought those wee faces in the cabinets were creepy too😭👍🏻
He didn't die in that way though. There's a broad consensus among historians. Not sure why Sam repeats an antiquated lie like this, without questioning the veracity of it. Well, we all make mistakes I guess.
@@boogiesmell5181 Sam does a great job in making these videos, hats off to her for attempting to do something like this in a second language. hello again Sam, another great interesting video, Berkeley Castle looks so nice , Ewww that pit sounded nasty, wow what an evil women , thank you for showing us around , well done Sam 😊
Hello Davie, thank you so much!😊 It's definitely an interesting chapter of English history, in what now looks like a beautiful setting. I was kind of expecting to hear the screams!😂
False information. Edward II did not die in this way 5:15. That fictional story is a later invention, written down by chronicler Ranulph Higden about a decade later. No doubt he thought it felt like a fitting end to someone accused of sodomy. This story certainly is memorable and has lived on ever since. Accusing Isabella for any of this is also historically incorrect, she would have had no say in anything that was going on as it was Roger Mortimer who wielded the power with an iron fist. Isabella wanted to visit Edward II but was never allowed to. She sent him affectionate letters and small luxurious items and food during his time at Berkeley. "She wanted him to suffer, and the murder couldn't really be traced back to her..." Sorry, but this is just so, so wrong. And what on Earth makes you think Isabella ordered the "murder"? Especially as he most likely was not murdered at all. Sorry but this nonsense was the absolute worst. Please read a book.
Looks like you had the whole place to yourself Sam - apart from the ghosts of course ! Very well put together video 👍🏻
Thank you Nick! Im glad you enjoyed it@ It was pretty quiet for a weekend I have to say. Yay! 😀

Fabulous Sam. Lord,I've heard of "death by 1000 cuts" but that poker death 😳 🔥. Creepy cabinet for sure!

What a terrible way to die!!
