I had a deep throat stretcher once. She was only good for stretching the wood though. She got to expensive to keep around so I had to trade her in on a different model.

For deep panel work, slightly radius the corners of the jaws. It will make your life much easier when you go to planishing or metalfinishing the panel.

Before you started to shrink the metal how did you get the nice rounded edges on it? Did you have to bend it in to a 90 first?
no as it shrinks it starts to cause the bend
