Thank you so much for this instructional on a great mop. Followed along to a T and mine turned out great. Very pleased with how it did. I’d like to ask if you could provide addition details on the cleaning. I know you mentioned you use bleach but is it diluted? How long do you let it sit in the solution? What type of container do you set it in while it soaks? Thanks again!!!
Your very welcome; I love doing these videos, thanks for the compliment. As for cleaning the only time I soak my mop is when I am too tired to clean it that day. When cleaning the mop I fill a bowel with hot water and add plenty of dish soap. When the water has cooled enough to handle the mop I knead and wring the mop for several minutes until I get out as much oil as possible. Then I change the water and repeat the process until the mop is completely free of oil then rinse well and air dry. If your mop needs bleaching do so for a few hours after the wash.
Real nice job on the mop! What surprised me the most is for all of that work you should have treated the dowel first with food grade mineral oil. But none the less well done!
This is a wonderful video. You explained it so well to were it is easy to follow. Thank you.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this! I was wondering if you considered putting the tie string through the mop loops and then tie it to the dowl?
Awesome!
Thanks!
I have hand made “rag head” bbq mops for years…but your loop head mop makes so much more sense! Thank you sharing and demonstrating.
Nice gotta make one now.

These look better than the ones that my dad taught me to make. He just used fabric. It almost seems like you're making a giant tassel.
Great upload

I just use a CHEAP 2" Paint Brush. It easier to keep clean.. Load up the brush and put it on, or pour it on, and brush it around
I will never buy another mop!
Home made gives us special cool items others wont have in their tool drawer.
To slow.
