Thanks for fulfilling my request. This is a truly outstanding lesson. One could hear the sound of Jerry Garcia even as you just ran thru the scale. Thanks to your great lessons things are really coming together in my mind in a clear way. Never thought years ago I would come across such a terrific teacher. When you hit 500,000 you need to have a big guitar shaped cake, yum, yum caaaaake!

I know music is not about competition but I must say in terms of utube guitar teachers. MARTY IS KILLING THE GAME! No other teacher has his consistency, teaching approach, selection of great songs to learn & most importantly, he is sonically better than probably any other ive heard on utube. (Not dissing them. I watch & learn frm them too). Thnk u so much Marty. I hv grown up & seen u grow up musically too.. who remember the days when Marty looked freshly shaven with a bby face & looked half baked in some of his lessons. 😂. Much respect to Marty Schawrtz. My favourite guitar teacher on utube. If i wasnt so damn broke right now i would sign up. (I will soon)

Again a great lesson. You Marty, and Papa inspire me. Just bought myself a Line 6 Spider V 60. I decided I do not a massive tube amp. And at half the price of a Hot Rod Deluxe I have been eyeing, I have a very cool amp. Wireless ready, all kinds of presets and modelling features, looper, drum track, headphone capable and more. Layla is loads of fun to play on it.

Another awesome lesson. I just recently started looking in to theory more as I've got bored learning just strait chords, pentatonic shapes, and scales. I'm a year in and it's kinda re-sparked my interest as to know the why it is the way it is and I now look at the fretboard differently..

Thank you for this lesson, It's so true that when playing Mixolydian over country blues it channels Jerry Garcia. I'm a self taunt musician for fifteen years now and I want to advance but i'm finding holes in my "education". I'm overly familiar with the minor and major scales to the point of boredom and have been dabbling with Dorian and Mixolydian but I always screw up when playing over chords, I'd love more lesson on chords progression to suit different modes and vice-versa. thanks again.

Great lesson...I am finally getting a better understanding what modes are and how to use certain scales/modes in a given chord progression...Before I was locked in trying to use just a pattern using the first chord as the key, alot of times it didnt sound right for what I wanted to try and play. This helps alot.

    Marty… 💡 LIGHTBULB MOMENT!
Thanks to this lesson along with a lot of studying I’ve been doing… This lesson made that light bulb finally go on and it went on at 100 W… I’m starting to really understand Modes now… I’m going to implement it a little bit at a time and I mixolydian I believe I would throw in the flat and seventh to get that feel… Jerry Garcia is a master at this mode !
Thank you again Marty…YOU ROCK!! 🎸🎶

Bach Minuet in G from Notebook for Anna Magdelena...is in Mixolydian.....A lover's Concerto by the Toys in the 1960's was kind of a remake of it...check them both out...both will be familiar to everyone...the only difference between the 2 was in the timing
