Hi. I have an Archetype Hybrid, but I feel it needs some surface. Would you tell me more about the 500-2000-4000 sanding you did on that one? Would love to try it so I can use it as 1st ball out of the bag for league games. Thanks
Surface by itself changes up to 60% of ball motion, duller surfaces (lower number grits) will see the lane earlier, and shinier will see the lane later. These balls come out of the factory with a Crown Factory Compound finish, which ends up being about 5000 grit. Finishing the ball with a 4000 grit pad brings the ball reaction a little closer to me and makes it more predictable and consistent. If you are looking to use the Archetype Hybrid as first ball out on a typical league night, I would recommend trying a 2000 grit finish. If that makes the ball hook too early and makes it lazy down-lane, try 3000 instead.
@@WhiteBeltBowling thanks for the quick reply. I'll try the 3000grit finish, throwing it slow during first couple games then adjusting afterwards. You make great videos and I wish you get to make more!
Great video/comparison. Any chance you can add the Theorem in an upcoming video? 👀
If I end up getting a Theorem I definitely will!
