I just got back into bowling and I can appreciate someone who has a passion for the sport and the knowledge to help us get better… I’ve been back 4 months and i struggled with timing at first and release but for the last few weeks I’ve been on point averaging between 3 houses about 215
What lane condition would that max flip layout be bad? And would that be bad for someone like me who is low rev like 300rpm? I’m more matched rev/speed I’m trying to figure out what type of ball(s) I’d want to use that layout.
That layout adds a bunch of length… so if you’re cool with that it could be a good option. Radical recommend it for high rev high speed bowlers. Midlane layout for low rev low speed bowlers. I’m fairly matched so I can kinda run with a variety of options.
Oh if your rev speed matched, you should be open to use that layout when you need more entry angle I’m using the arch around game 2 or 3 when the buff develops on the outside and there is midlane transition i need to skid through
@@TheBowlingNerd so my shinny asyms are drilled 45 x 4.5 x 35 and they are pretty clean and don’t have a lot of shape down lane. Do u think a 3.5” pin might help with that? I just saw mo’s old video and he said higher track players should use a 3.5-4” pin. I have a virtual energy blackout and black widow 2.0 hybrid and they don’t really circle the lane. I can’t really stand left and hook the lane with them.
If you saw the old Mo vid I’m thinking about, I think he said something to the effect of wanting a variety in your bag towards the end of that vid. It sounds like you’re missing that 3.5 - 4 pin distance. Might be worth it to get both a sym and asym piece. Or plugging and re drilling that VeBo… as long as the plug is off the track. I called out the VeBo cuz it has a high Intermediate Diff but if you want something new… Take a look at DNA Coil Hater Or…. Arch hybrid Layout doesn’t have to be max flip You can dial it down if you want depending on what your proshop says. It sounds like you have a large range of options so why not push the limits on a ball 😁

I was thinking of adding a theorem and zig zag to my eternity pi and envy tour. But you’re making me want to get a widow 3.0 lol. I am also not getting a lot of shape out of my sublime so was thinking of adding a different sym with 3.5-4” pin
I have that pin distance on my venom shock and 5 inch pin to pap on my Zen Soul. So it’s relatively easy to make that ball change. Have you tried your sublime with surface? Straight 2000 Or… skip sand 500 / 2000
@@TheBowlingNerd I’ve hit my sublime with a very light 3k pad but was worried if I hit it hard with 2k it would be too early. I will try it though. So I’ve been struggling mightily at league. I normally stand around 20 and aim 11-10ish out to around 7-6ish. If I miss too far right I 2-8 or miss the head pin sometimes. The gutter doesn’t hook. When I miss in I go high. I’ve been using the envy tour but it will flat 10 if I leak it right and it’s too much ball to miss in. I’ve tried to play 3rd arrow with my eternity pi but it’s 10 pin city if I’m not perfect. Any suggestions in terms of playing that type of house shot? Do you think widow 3.0 with that earlier layout you use might work? I’m prob 275-300 rpm and 15mph off my hand. Wondering if I don’t have enough revs to make that work?
@@surfboardshack3327 house shots can play different across the board and based on how other people break them down. It sounds like you have plenty of ball choices already. Good question. With my particular layout 70 x 3 1/2 x 20 I'd use it like game 2 or 3 depending on how the lanes are playing. So, last on friday after i posted this vid (3/1) I had bowled against someone throwing a purple hammer. Urethane picks up oil in the fronts and carries it down lane. @@TheBowlingNerd ah I see. So you’d use it either when the fronts are kinda gonna and the backends are tight or after your big ball gets lazy? I’m trying to figure out whether I need something like a archetype hybrid or theorem after my big ball starts giving up or drop down to something with a similar shape to my big ball but just a bit cleaner 🤷🏻♂️ don’t seem to know when to throw those big shinny asym balls

I definitely overstated the impact of layout in this ball review. It sounds the consensus is that it impacts how the ball goes through the pins.
Love the family guy clip you threw in there too after the core explanation. 😂😂
Yeah, I had some fun with that.
