Jonas losing some weight has really reflected on his singing in a positive way, he sounds so much more precise, it's obviously easier for him now. Roger and Daniel have made their contribution into the way the band sounds live now, too, what awesome musicians they are. And thank you for filming this (:
I really wanted to like them, but slow/boring ! 😩 where's the riffing, the shredding, the speed/aggression, and the Metal?! I thought they were melodic metal? There's no metal ?! 😩
They are not necessarily metal anymore, they are progressive metal.. if you want "heavy" Katatonia listen to older albums. Even then there is no "fast shredding and riffing" its more doomy slow and pure heaviness. Katatonia might not be for you, if so please save the disrespect for another time.
andrew dods When they started out they were more of a death/doom metal band. And that is still the foundation, but they moved away and started bringing in influences outside of metal such as Jeff Buckley, The Cure, Red House Painters etc. and clean singing. This music isn't about technical shredding riffs or extreme aggression. It's about atmosphere and dark but beautiful textures. It's not for everyone. It's good that you at least gave them a chance.

Katatonia's music is mostly dark, sad and heavy... if you want shredding and the restless violence I recommend you check out other bands.
