Thank you soo much man I work at a scooter shop and I built a gc190 mini bike, I can use the aluminum flywheel from the gcv190. It'll allow me to rev higher, along with some 18lb valve springs just to be safe

I would try some seafoam and let it run for a while. That cleaned up one of my 4 cycle engines. I always wanted one of those but to high priced for me. Hard to find a decent used one. Great fix on that machine. I doubt I would have thought of that fix. Thanks for the tip and video.

Great detail on these flywheels I've never seen before. Was wondering how to most easily verify the flywheel key isn't sheered since doesn't look like can see the tapered shank down below enough to confirm without removing the flywheel. However, I didn't have a flashlight to look better, so maybe can view from above without removing... though didn't seem like without a light at least. Guessing I have a rocker arm or valve lash adjustment issue causing a kick/snap back of the recoil starter pull cord that scared the last two owners enough to sell. Figured will be a new learning experience for me to share.

Now that I think about... I've wondered about using one of these cost effective usually seasonally easy to find GCH's on an air compressor where I'd take the GX stator coils and mount since appears the blocks having the mounting posts that might need to be threaded and then epoxy neodymium magnets on the inside of the cast iron flywheel. Seems feasible and guessing will be easier than trying to retrofit a GX flywheel.

Love it! You pretty much answered my question in this video. Thanks

Wow.. been a while since you did a video on the weed trimmer. I thought about doing an engine swap on the same model but all the engines I have came off mowers. We all know what happens when you try to start a mower without the blade so I didnt even bother.

What size of puller have you used. I tried using similar to this one, but those clamps that supposed to underneath flywheel, keep sliding out. Also would you know which tap size to I need to clean up threads on the crankshaft after removing the top nut that holds down flywheel. Thanks.

Did you get the timing right on that? I read there is supposed to be a little 'key' in the flywheel that's meant to break away under stress. I'm dealing with that now.

The flywheels only go on one way. They aren’t adjustable.

So I just bought a husqvarna push trimmer from someone on Facebook market. The engine on it is a shit Briggs and stratton 625hwt. It's trash so ibwant to put my honda gcvq60 from my lawn mower. I have to cage the fly wheel in order for it to run correctly??? Thanks

You will need to install the heavy duty flywheel for sure. It will run ok under load, but idling with the lines not spinning it will surge.

@ because the blade acts as the flywheel

If by now you have fixed that surge, please comment. I am struggling with an otherwise good GCV190 on a pressure washer. Cleaned the carb & even micro drilled very slightly bigger holes in both the main jet and the idle jet. Still surges a bit but not as bad.

If it’s not the carb, it’s the carb, or the carb!

Kinda sounds like a governor issue to me.

"Might need to clean the carburetor"... of course it's a Honda.
