    Your channel has already become the absolute best for bike light reviews anywhere. I already bought the Fenix single led headlight based on your excellent review, now might just have to get an MS Seemee rear light too! Thank you for putting out great content for bike-lighting junkies like myself!

      Appreciate the feedback! This new Seemee series from Magicshine is pretty impressive. It's a lot of tech and power for the price. The Seemee 180 is my personal go-to tail light right now, it just looks really cool lit up and the smart mode is really useful.

    Hi thank you very much for this great video... I have a question can you also use this device for breaking only during the day. I mean not having the light turned on the whole ride, but in case of a sudden break to see the breaklight? thanks!

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can't do that with the Seemee but we actually just reviewed a taillight that has that feature - the Kryptonite XBR (th-cam.com/video/ryb1O4CdS24/w-d-xo.html). It has a 'day brake' mode that is off until it detects braking. I'm curious why you prefer that mode though as most taillights are going toward 'daytime visible' and are meant to be run all-day?

    How can i use it in my helmet 🤔🤔 wil it work the sensor if i put horizontal? Great review!

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I don't know if the brake sensor will work properly if you mount it sideways, they are usually calibrated for a specific position. For helmet mounting, I'd recomment the smaller and cheaper Magicshine Seemee 30 which still has the ambient light sensor (thesweetcyclists.com/magicshine-seemee-30/).

    Hi, great video and explanation thank you! i've already buy the seeme180, but i have an issue, how coud i know if the battery its fully charged? because the led its green, but the light its not fully charged, in the instructions there is a totally no sense description, if the led its green the battery is at the power of 21% to 100%, how can i know if it is at 23% or 99%?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The color on the power button shows the battery status when it is not plugged in. As you noted, it's pretty basic with only green / red / flashing red. If you plug the light into the wall the color will be either flashing red (charging) or green (fully charged). Per the manual, the charge time is about 1.5 hours. The big difference is that the colors mean different things depending on whether the light is plugged in or not.

      @@TheSweetCyclists thank you, ok now its finally clear, i have to make a second tour with the light, to try the effective duration. i hope to not have an issued light.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@weiss0studio No problem. I'd also recommend disabling the brake sensor - with the light of hold the button for 5 seconds - flash indicates it is off and constant indicates it was turned on - to maximize the runtime. Otherwise your runtimes can be low or unpredictable.

    I bought the seemee 180 and I wanted to confirm something if you've experienced issues regarding battery life. After a full charge it blinks in red after 30 mins - 1 hour (even if im on the setting that has the longest battery life) then shuts down.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you tried disabling the brake sensor? The brake sensor can really drain the battery if it is triggered a lot and makes the run time erratic.

      Follow-up as I been using it for almost 2 weeks with your suggestion.
      It seems that the board really eats up the battery(i really feel like I got a dud) and the store doesn't accept replacements.. But at least it can last a good 3-3 hour ride with a daily required charge..
      I do love the COB light and the way its garmin like mount.. I might have to try something else that can fit my saddle(coz I'm using a dropper post).
      I have 2 ways I can deal with this:
      - Use it up the light till the battery can no longer hold a charge then buy an exact one.
      - wait till it dies, any buy another light.
      Thanks for the tip!

    you could test how they behave in a peleton, if they switch to lower mode if you are followed by other bike (with lights), not to daze them

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. I don't think the ambient light sensor is that sensitive though to trigger when riding in a group. There are taillight like the Shanren Raz Pro that have a "group sync" mode that is much more useful when riding with a group. It will automatically sync to other Raz Pros nearby so all the lights have same flash pattern.

    • @razorree
      @razorree 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSweetCyclists these 'ambient light sensors' detects infra-red light specifically I think - just to be IMMUNE to car or bike lights :/

  • @Edward-Norton
    @Edward-Norton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What about mounting it to a bike rack? Needs a bike rack mount. If you have a bag on a bike rack you wouldn't see it because it would be blocked. Side charging is nice because you don't have to remove the light to charge it.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Magicshine doesn't sell a bike rack specific mount, but they do have a clip which you could potentially use (magicshine.com/products/magicshine-tail-light-seat-pack-clip). Otherwise you may want to look at the Planet Bike Rojo which actually includes a rack mount adapter.

    Can the braking light function be disabled?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. Turn the light off and then hold the power button for ~5 seconds. If it flashes it's off, if it's on then it will light up with a constant pattern.

    hello what is the differences afer the light floor for night with the seemee 200 that i already have (? tks

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both lights and the other Seemee lights have many of the same features - battery status checker / ambient light sensor / flash modes. The main difference with the Seemee 200 is 200 lumen vs 180 + the Seemee 200 has a downward facing LED and more square body. Personally I like the Seemee 180 over the 200 as the extra LED can't be turned off on the Seemee 200.

    Can the brake and ambient light sensors be turned off? What about the Seemee 200?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you can turn off the brake sensor on all the new Seemee lights. Just hold the power button down for 5 seconds with the light off and it will flash if off / go constant on if on. You cannot turn off the ambient light sensor but it is only active in the 'smart' output mode so you don't have use it at all. Personally, I've disabled the brake sensor and just run the lights in 'smart' mode so it automatically adjusts to day/night.

      @@TheSweetCyclists how do you activate smart mode?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sargemo3288 You have to 'double press' the power button to cycle through the modes: Constant / Flash / Smart. The flash/smart mode look similar unless your in a dark room (smart mode goes constant in low light situations).

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sargemo3288 It's pretty simple, there are 3 main modes: constant / flash / smart. If you press twice you'll switch between those. A single press cycles through sub-options per mode. Put the light in constant mode, then do a double press on the power button twice and that should put you in flash. The easy way to confirm is put the light in a dark area, it should go constant - otherwise it will be in flash mode.

    • @TheSweetCyclists

    • @TheSweetCyclists

      Interesting question. Not with the provided mount (seatpots/saddle) as they can't be rotated. You would have to rig something up yourself.

      Yup. Olight has several co-branded bike lights with Magicshine. It seems like the RN 180 is identical to the Seemee 180. Some of the other Olight lights have slightly less output or different features.
