I can answer ur question why not many people use the Non Abrasive grip tape. They hate on new things. Skater especially the online community always hates on new things thats why no ones using it
I've been wanting to try it for a while now, I just always forget. I'm good to see if I can order some online now actually because your comment reminded me. Worst case I don't like it , no big deal.
I skated non abrasive grip for a deck, I disliked it lol. I tend to be all in on gimmicks but that one didn't grab me.
It also just dont look to good
It's just gimmicks in general, it's like 3d tvs
Non abrasive grip is hard to get in Germany. I would like to try it.
I thought that the big shoe companys Like Vans and Nike found ways to stop the distribution of the n.a. grip ;-D
Soft trucks are nice for playing around inside when it's cold or raining.
I ride non abrasive grip tape for 4 months now, and it's been perfect. It grips almost like regular grip, and it doesn't rip your shoes at all.
I think not many people use it because they doubt it like you
It gives away the purpose, its still pretty cool though, its kinda like the foam grip of a fingerboard, it doesn't do darkslides.
@@The_Joe00s it does, and who tf dose darkslides anyway
A few people do, people have different opinions just remember that, no matter what we are still skaters.
and its more expensive
@@DumbIdeaPresentedStupidly yeah but it saves so much more money on shoes tho
One thing I'd like to note about non abrasive grip tape is that it is only for certain people. And since it's non abrasive it is a little harder to do tricks
Sounds like a product for the downhill skateboarding type.
@@caseysmith544 i use non abrasive grip and i personaly like it but some of my friends have tried it and said they didn't like it
@@caseysmith544 as a downhill skater - no we don't want nonabrasive.
We need coarser griptape than street setups, because sliding the fat grippy wheels needs a lot of traction between shoe and board.
Also we don't drag our shoes across the grip nearly as much as you would doing tricks, making abrasion not much of an issue
Actually for skateboard locks, here (france) we like to go party a lot after skating and in several place you can't enter with a skateboard. I use to hide my board in bushes to go party. Even if i don't see myself cary this, I've quite often wish to have a place to leave my deck.
And about the non abrasive griptape, I've ordered some to test it out and not die stupid. I'm curious about it.
“If you fall while your feet are strapped in…”
Me, a snowboarder: I have no such weaknesses
they are skating in solid dirt my guy not soft snow
@@heromedley You've clearly never been snowboarding.
@@heromedley snow is not soft.
@@The_Joshuan_Empire I know right? These people have clearly never been in the snow. When it falls from the sky it's like boulders. Each snowflake is crushing. It's so devastating and painful. I'm just like you, extremely weak to the point that snowflakes are very painful.
Cement lol
I really like my non abrasive grip tape. I feel like its saved me a lot of money on shoes and laces and tricks feel just the same pretty much (keep in mind that I only know like 5). issues I have is it can get dusty and slick depending on where you skate so Ill have to wipe it off every so often and that the texture on it eventually does where off (especially where my foot pivots) but even without the texture the rubber still feels grippy.
Is it easier to peel off than normal grip tape when it gets worn?
Yeah, its way worse but if you're too broke to spend $50 on shoes then it's good. I'm not. I've only tried this garbage when some 7 year old kid had it at the skatepark. I did a kickflip, told him he's a broke bitch, focused his board and then blew some cigarette smoke in his face until he ran off crying. It was great, the budget broke boy fake grip tape isn't though.
@@itchiegames you seem proud of yourself
Why is 3 here? Electric mountain boards are a good idea. It's no coincidence that the footage used was someone riding it in Portland, OR. They work well in the mountains and in hilly areas.
considering their price??? 1:22 $179 is average for a longboard...... i spend $220 on mine.. what kind of trash boards are you used to using?
honestly, i really like soap shoes! they seem fun to use when you can’t always bring your board with you. it’s a fun and quite portable alternative. i mean all you have to do is wear them!😭
In concepts sure. In practice, they are extremely uncomfortable and the grinding plate doesn't even work that well.
Hehe sonic adventure 2 moment
plus it has the added benefit of letting all the other skaters know that you're a bottom and you can take all of their dicks in you at the same time.
@@KaitouKaiju Mine were very comfortable, only downside is I found it hard to pedal my bike. I biffed so hard I had a bench shaped bruise for weeks on my ass.
The soap/heelys colab shoe was the best lol. I would kill to still have those lol
I really wouldn’t say that soft trucks are a bad product! Have you tried them yourself? They really helped me dial in my shuvits when I have spent so long with a bad habit of fear and putting my foot down! really great tool for beginners. I really want to buy a set for my skate crew so beginners can have a little more confidence with shuvits and I can see it being super useful for ollies and any flip trick. We have a lot of adults brand new to skating so I really rate the soft trucks!
They would probably be good for indoor practice or training. I use to make balance boards with big soda bottles covered in duct tape and a deck with no trucks or wheels. I did this for snowboarding tho.
skate box tend to just completely disregard beginner oriented products some skaters just become real ignorant to beginners when theyre skating for a long time
Soft trucks just don’t have the slight shifting of the wheels though when you do tricks so it doesn’t really feel natural.
@@AzariahSimpson whilst that is true, the transition from the feeling of two different boards is similar in my experience, it only took me a couple goes after mastering the soft truck, to actually land it on my board, same time it took me to then land it on a different board. Definitely not something to disregard in practice and learning
6:42 it would be pretty useful at school but they have special lock things for skateboards at my school so there isn’t much point
I have to push back on the electric skateboard entry as a truck driver. When I park my truck @ a truck stop, I'm not limited to just going into the truck stop for food due to having the board to use. Also easy transporting it compare to mounting a motorcycle on the catwalk. You can customize your board to suit not only your ride style but for the environment as well. I have a hybrid set up the fronts being narrow cloud wheels and the backs being thick pneumatics. And I can run belt drive for the city ride and gear drive for the off-roading tracks
i actually have a tail devil i bought recently, waiting for the cold and rainy weather to go away so i can try it out
Тоже думаю прикольная фишка))) можно сделать самому, как и третье колёсико))))
Soap shoes are a great product. They do not deserve this treatment. We always used them for the rails at school.
I soap shoe to this day! I actually make my own. (Because they went out of business). And I still love it. And they look so cool!
I would kill to still have mine lmao
For non-abrasive griptape, I can say it works pretty well.
I have worn down completely a board and I’m into a new one, both with DKL Griptape and it does work as it says and should. I’m not from the US so I got 4 at a time, it is double the price but it grips and flicks the same, but doesn’t feel similar to regular grip. The true downsides are that you have to use shoes that still have a not worn outsole, and after you apply it, you have to let it sit for some hours so it never tears down.
It doesn't. Broke kids who can't afford new shoes say it is, but it's not.
I tried it. Some fat 7 year old had it at the skatepark. I kickflipped it, told him his parents were poor and he was fat and gay, focused his board then blew smoke in his fat face until he waddled off crying. That was great, the budget broke boy fake grip tape wasnt.
@@itchiegames poser.
Off road skateboards you strap into are mountain boards. They are suppose to be like a dry land snowboard. I thought of buying a non motorized one for my dogs to pull me on. They seem sketchy tho. They are not common. I rarely see people on those. I have snowskates and people are like wtf is that. It is a niche thing mountain people do in the summer to fix their snowboarding withdrawls.
I actually want to get non-abrasive griptape because i have really bad sensory issues with the texture of regular griptape
Dude this dude is the best skateboarder TH-cam.Merry Christmas
Fr
What?
Ur right dude
I am confused by your statement
At 1:48 is my fav youtuber
8:35 why not just take off the trucks?
7:46 i wanna get soft truck cus everytime i get close to landing a trick the board just fly out from 7nder my feet as i land on it
Wdym abt the skateboard lock what if you ride it to and from school 😭
Okay so I have a question, do skateboarders like roller skaters that come to the parks or not. I would like to know this because I have been roller skating for a while now and I want to possibly start going to parks. And are there any unspoken rules I should know about first for roller skaters?
who cares what they like/don’t like, skateparks aren’t only meant for skateboarders lol. as long as you’re aware of everything around you you’ll be fine
@@GhostofaFangirl ok thanks! Normal y the skate park near me is pretty empty and one of my skater friends said everyone that goes there is usually pretty nice so I think I’m good!
@@A_Rat_120 yup as long as you’re not up in everyone’s business you’ll be fine, have fun skating!!
It's totally fine to go to the skatepark, it's for everyone. Just gotta be hyper aware of your surroundings and courteous of other people's space. If people give you shit it's because theyre toxic losers w no sense of community. Your username is cool BTW
Name checks out... What on earth are you gonna do at the skate park on roller skates anyway? You can do your pirouettes anywhere.
skateboard lock one what if you’re skateboarding to school And they don’t allow you to carry it on school grounds
one thing that has help me instead of using soft trucks, skate trainers, or tennis balls is going on grass or grabbing an old rug outside or practicing on carpet indoors which still lets you roll but not as much as on flat ground.
i had a skate board it had a custom desighn and i got new wheels and then it was stolen
Some of these products are pretty fun and decent. Maybe this should have been a 5 list or something.
1. Folding Skateboards: Yeah, there's not much point in having one. If you wanna cruise, buy a cruiser board, if you wanna do tricks, just get a normal skateboard.
2. Training Wheels: Yeah, this is a dumb idea.
3. Electric Off-Road Boards: Solve a problem that a lot of Off-Road boards have, not a bad product. Just expensive.
4. Non Abrasive Griptape: I mean if you've never tried it and never got the opinion of someone who has, you can't really say if it's a bad product or not. I've never used one either though.
5. Spark Plates: These are awesome! No one ever uses them though because they're too busy practicing. If you gave them to someone, they'd love it though.
6. Soap Shoes: Don't mention them.. They're not SKATE products.
7. Skateboard Locks: Yeah, these are useless.
8. Hoverboards: This concept is a bit of a reach.
9. Soft Trucks: Yeah, Just use tennis balls.
Where's 10?
1:01 i walk at that palce everyday in fact skated their today lol
Non abrasive griptape is very good (at least the DKL griptape). I live in italy and a sheet of griptape usually costs 10 euros so getting a couple of sheets for 10 dollars wasn't a big deal considering that 10$ is cheaper than 10€, the DKL grip lasts very long and doesn't ruin my shoes (that are far more expensive than a new sheet of griptape). Tricks come out very goot and flawlessly after a bit of time to adapt to the new thing (took me about 24h to close a kickflip again but I'm not that good at it). The only complicated thing for me was being able to get it (they didn't offer international shipping) but I was very lucky and I was able to ask a friend to bring it in italy after one of his holydays. It's been more than three years and had to change the first sheet after a couple years
Can I get sonic colored soap shoes
a good number of skateboard companies also make skate shoes, that's why you don't see non-abrasive grip tape on new boards. they would sell less shoes.
soap shoes look awesome for the parkour crowd ! i could see these being big fun and quite useful in that arena .
A good content, I am glad you are covering many skateboarding topics, even though I am inline skater myself. Keep doing what you are doing!
What about those trucks that can slide on and off the base plate for portability?
rubber trucks are awesome i use it on the carpet all the time
kinda dumb to diss non-abrasive tape when u haven't ever tried it lol
Soft trucks added almost a foot to my Ollie, and I learned triple heel flips in about 20 mins. Sure they don't give you the rolling sensation, but they definitely get you landing tricks cleaner
Is foam grip tape a thing for skateboards or just finger boards? I don’t know a lot of about skateboards I just have tech decks !! But I like learning
When I think hover board my mind instantly goes to extreme gear from the original Sonic Riders
Yes sir
I never knew soap shoes were an actual thing, I just thought they were sonic shoes 💀
You must be 14 years old
@@scvmbag i was 15 when i wrothe that comment
They were so much fun lol
I'm so immature lol
1:38 I saw my exact noard and was like, YOOO THATS MY SKATEBOARD out loud😭😭
The plastic coverings on tracker trucks. Some went on the axel itself and the others went from the base plate up over the kingpin to protect it from getting damaged.
The piece that covered the hanger was a Coper. Some skateparks (The Turf in Milwaukee) required them in the 80s. And a Lapper went on the bolts of the the baseplate. It was angled from the underside of the board to the kingpin of the truck. Supposedly to stop hangups on coping and an easy way up curbs before the Ollie and ADA mandated wheelchair cuts at almost ever street corner.
I just got into skateboarding my brother introduced me to it a few days age loved it I have finally found something that I enjoy that involves going outside
5:00 well i think you should use this product mostly for skate movies cuz they look very cool in them
Haven’t tried non abrasive but would be willing to give it a shot. I think it would make darkslides hard though.
I think that "tech decks" which is like a mini skatboard, but for your fingers, are kinda cool
I've seen the Moose antler board guy both on my fyp and in my town, Anchorage, Alaska.
I think deadbolt made some trucks that used a screw instead of a nut to keep the wheels on. This was to prevent slipping post. Problem was, you had a hollow axel and they broke easier. Also, I had the top of the screw break off which ultimately made the truck useless because I couldn't get the threaded part out to replace the screw.
SO true about the "training trucks or whatever". The only thing positive is that you can analyze your feet position, fs bs etc. But when momentum is involved, its a completely another world.
But in the end, it is worth it, I guess? No, it has no wheels, period, and will not translate that good into the real dealio.
i'm thinking of learning to skate almost purely as a mode of transportation, so non-abrasive grip tape would probably actually be really great for that purpose. Then i could wear decent shoes and still skate lol
As someone who's in the PNW the electric off-road board would be sick, especially if you link up with some mountain bikers on the trail
One you missed, the bubble shaped pivot brake that came on cheap skateboards in the 80's. Apart from all the other accessories we decked our decks with back then, rail sliders, nose protector, truck protectors, etc. This thing actually got in the way, it stuck out so much, especially with how shallow the kicktails were back then. So basically, no pop. Made it almost impossible to do the latest trick of the time, the flatland ollie
Ironically locking up my board is exactly the issue I ran into the other day. New work policy wont let me take it in anymore, so now I have to lock it on a fence or something
Slightly unrelated, but I've always wanted make/see a personal towing device for skateboarding. Basically it would be an RC car with enough torque to pull an adult on a skateboard. Like wake boarding, a line would be connected to the towing device, and ends with a handle to rider holds on to. To operate the tow device, you could have a corded version where the controller for throttle and turning would be built into the handle of the tow rope. Or you could make it wireless and hold the controller in your free hand. Maybe even add a button the can change the length of the tow rope, letting you do super wide turns when you have the room. What's your opinion on this idea comment section?
i actually see the skateboard lock as somewhat useful, because there are some store and places of business that WILL NOT allow you to carry in your skateboard because they ve had too many idiots who come in and skate inside their place of business and cause trouble,
I'm pretty sure you can mountainboard/dirtboard on flat ground. It's just harder as the boards are heavier and don't roll that well.
Also many of these were actually really cool.
Non abrasive grip tape seems kind of cool and many people like it. The same goes for electric all terrain boards although it is way cheaper to practice pushing off and gaining momentum on flat ground without the need for a motor, then there's the hoverboards, they're still in progress. Some of them are cool, like this segway thing that's shown in this video - I have one and it gets called a hoverboard but it's actually just a segway and is rather cool for cruising on solid smooth ground or going up and down hill and also has a built in speaker to play music, but also it is clunky, heavy asf (meaning theres no way you can do tricks) and actually illegal to use on public footpaths as it's classed as a motor vehicle by law, and costs way more than any skateboard out there. That said the hb segway is NOT a skateboard but a segway with a built in gyroscope.
The other cool product was the spark maker. That was my personal favourite, and honestly I did not know that's how they made the sparks in B2tF. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if it's illegal or at least if there are laws prohibiting their usage in certain areas, as they can start fires and if you were to ride one too close to a petrol station or a place where there is gas or pressurised containers or flammable liquids... well - kaboom💥 .
5:06 Who won bring about a small plates they help we’re doing a manual what are scratching your skateboard
I use to skateboard between my work breaks and would leave it the car. someone stole it when I got home one time had to buy another. so I got a lock and kept my board in the back from then on.
I know I'm almost a year late to the party, but I think the folding skateboard was probably made with the idea that it was going to be used to just move and not to do trick's.
About soap shoes i have a great indoor local skatepark and it has lots of great skaters i was their free skating after a camp and this kid with grind-shoes got in my way (he wasnt doing anything cool just jumping on the ramp and sliding 2mm and then jumping off😑
Love this dude he needs more subs
this guy is so amazing and even with no sound it is halarious
Thank you for including Sam tabor
got my tail devil installed and ready to spark some devilishness!
i really like the qlik system from qwik trucks, you can easily change your board setup from street syle to cruiser and I've been using mine for a while and its pretty efficient!
Can someone source me the clip at 1:02 please
All of Matt Tomasellos custom boards are trippy asl i recommend watch all his video
Let’s go another upload 😊
How is electric and is off rode did is really good
Oh my God it Sonics shoes
i always wounderd if someone truly achieved a hover board. they cant use the name hoverboard because of the copyright. even tho its a legitimate hoverboard. so what happens?
Soap shoes
"Aw yeah, this is happenin'!"
I have two skateboards one with regular grip and other with DKL non abrasive grip tape, I use the non abrasive most of the time, mainly for training and the regular to show what I ´ve learned
I had my first big fall today while skateboarding the instructor let me try his skate trainer the trucks were so loose I fell hard I’m fine you I hit my butt on pads
Non abrasive tape helped me to skate better, learn faster, and spend less money. It keeps it grippiness for way longer than standard tape, cleans easier, and instead of blowing money on shoe after shoe, i can skate the same pair. Ill never go back to regular grip tape
I didn't catch the part where you said why the electric offroad board is bad
I’ve heard non abrasive grip is fine, but the slightest bit of moisture and it gets slippery.
i use non abrasive on my cruiser it's amazing
that spark plate product doesn't sell anymore wanted one for my traxxas slash for gags but nobody sell them or anything like them besides a titanium plate tho just as silly
Lots of towns made the product illegal in the 2000's after some skate video featured the item making it popular after the first run. This might be why they are hard to find now.

Non abrasive for life. I skate alot of street and heavily skate transition and I have never once slipped out. On top of that the flick of the non abrasive is much better than that of normal grip by far. I’ve skated 3 boards with the same pair of shoes and before non abrasive I would have gone through roughly 5 pairs by now
Interesting, as a veteran trany and vert skater, i was curious about NA grip on trannies.. does it help w raw thumb too? I remember Rip Grip, it worked.. kinda..
Yoooo first 20 comments keep it up lov you’re vids don’t hate on me though as I’m a scooter rider but I still respect the skateboarding community …
I i love when i put these training wheels on i cant stop when im going down a hill
holy s hit you fixed your weird inflection. good job

8:04 the way Mike Tyson fell off a skateboard and was still smiling is very surprising
As a mountain boarder.
I want to EV my board.
But it is expensive.
Ohhh yeah. Falling on a mountain board is sketchy at best.
And sonic the hedgehog uses soap shoes.
Spark plates are just cool I turned up to the skatepark with one one my board and my friend just freaked
what about surf-skates?
Hi skate box (I just landed my first kick flip yesterday I’m cool like that)
Good job bro learning mine a couple weeks ago
i knew he said they arnt really bad but electric off road boards are like the best. Mine paid itself off in 2 years and I have been riding it since 2018.
I used non abrasive grip tape for about a year and the only con for me is that if it gets slightly wet or rains its unusable
I don't think you are supposed to skate during rain in the first place if I recall correctly.
the little finger skatebord is the one I use.
I already have cruser board I used it to transport every where in the neighbourhood
I love soft trucks they were really good at helping me with my tricks.
I think soap shoes are dope. I got a list of dumb shit I kinda want, if I ever get to soap shoes which is on that list, I'll nab them and bring them with me to the park lol
Reason for lock:school,In a year I have had 2 skateboards stolen and vandalised so a lock is actually something I really need
Every time this guy says,”At first, it seems like a great idea…” I want to teach into my phone, pull him through this tiny little square glass screen, and yell to his face,”No!! None of These Look Like Good Ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Get a backpack to hold your board like a normal, sane person!
