Real recognize real. While so many wrestling fans are looking over these young kids, the US is in the best wrestling shape we’ve been maybe ever. We ain’t going nowhere. Marcus, you’re a beast buddy and you wrestled beautifully. 🙏🏼
@@StevanMicicSRB Stevan, I really liked the way you did a mini-breakdown of Blaze. You have insight and see things that most of us don’t. Hell you’ve felt things on the mat but g from the best in the world and a fraction of a fraction of wrestlers can ever say that. Being all over the wrestling channels, I know these kids are looking for guidance and look to World Champs like yourself. And that’s what made this video so special. The fact that you gave this kid his flowers for what he’s been able to do already is huge. Putting your personal stamp of approval on him will bring more eyes to him and the sport. I can imagine that it’s tough and a slippery slope breaking down too many active wrestlers but this is what we want. I think doing some breakdowns on there sports top guys would be pretty damn cool. And hearing your perspectives carry weight to this community. Thanks for being such an incredible ambassador to our sport. 🙏🏼
Most people have no idea how huge his wins at world team trials were. I think this makes him the best high school wrestler today if not ever. Has this ever been done by someone his age before? Great breakdown brother! I have enjoyed watching you compete as well. Really hated to see you step down with the knee injury.
I wonder how Marcus would fare vs Uguev right now. Both are 61 kg wrestlers at this point in time. I think it would be a competitive match. The only thing about Marcus that I haven't seen much is defense par terre against bit gut wrench guys (like Uguev)
@@Garu99.yes they’re only ONE year apart… ones a high school senior and the other is a TRUE freshman for penn state. Both are insane and both have wins over each other. Luke Lilledahl is one of if not the only/first American to be a 4x age level finalist. Insane feat at the age of 17/18. Marcus Blaze just beat 3 national champions, a senior silver world medalist, and just went toe to toe with a world champion. At the age of 17. Both or Jr world champions, both are multiple time world medalists, and both are the #1 recruit in their respective class now.
He should skip college and just start training freestyle exclusively to have an edge on all the folk style American college athletes. He could easily win some World of Olympic medals.
@@Lykitysplit Bad advice. By going to college, he can get a lot of NIL money to help fund his training and lifestyle in addition to having a degree to fall back on in case of injury..

All the lighter weight wrestlers have been turning out to be some of the most promising wrestlers we’ve ever seen

What is marcus projected weight for college? If he is already at 61kg, there is a good chance he will grow into a 141/149 weight class.
Just curious, did he feel strong?
Yes he was wirey strong, kind of like me haha, but obviously being that mature while in high school is amazing

Marcus DOES have a win over Lilledhal, beat him at the Olympic Trials 5-1
Marcus has a couple wins over Luke
