I built my wrestling career, 1x state runner up (Could have made states again, but unfortunately got injured), off of two things: 1. Hips + throws/rolls. If you got the best hips, you can throw anyone and pull off some jv rolls from bottom. 2. Legs. Double grapevines and body scissors mostly.
@ I was mostly commenting to laugh at myself for being a successful “jv wrestler”. I almost won it all by hitting “junk moves” like headlocks consistently. My wrestling days are done, too many concussions. Currently trying to study everything I can about the sport so that I can go into coaching. Watching you wrestle and hearing you talk about wrestling definitely helps.
Still remember watching Mendez and Hardy match live. That one was so bad I genuinely felt bad for Hardy. Not only that it happens during the NCAA semifinals. ESPN even put it on their program the following day.
Watching this list made me realize how insanely far behind Washington State is when it comes to wrestling. All the moves in the "kid killer" category are high frequency moves here in High School. In the Early 2000's, all those kid killer moves were go-to moves for high school wrestlers in Washington... in 2023 (i am an official now) these still get used frequently, but less frequently in higher level varsity.
There is a move called a couple different things, can opener, bow and arrow also I believe. That is mat-wrestling type move that can catch some people off guard. Also Adam Saitiev had an nasty inside leg trip that he was very slick with. Also Aniuar Geduev had this move where he would swing his opponents wrist down whilst doing an outside ankle pick. Russian style snap down I guess. I also remember in the 2006 wrestling finals 165 lbs, it was Ryan Churella vs Johny Hendricks. I think in the second period, Churella caught Johny in this nasty cradle. Hendricks was strong as fuck, but that move almost got him a pin. Either way good videos, thank you
When I was in high school I would constantly run like a chop into a 2 on 1 tilt. Depending on how good the kid was they would either get out or I would get the tech. I don’t see it run as much.
@StevanMicicSRB marinelli tore up the 2019-2020 season with it. I say let them use it at high school level it's really no more dangerous than any other move that involves the head.
Y'know what's funny? I lost my D3 NCAA regional semifinal match by getting hit with a banana split. 2 weeks later took 2nd at NCAAs. Should've quit LOL.
Yes haha i learned alot from that match! helped me whoop him the next time and get me to the next level! every loss is a learning lesson, thanks for your support!
The exception that proves the rule. It’s a Hail Mary. Anybody that goes out and tries to do that move repeatedly would start getting thrown on their head every time. Show me where that guy hit that move a second time.
Why do you say quit wrestling if you get hit in a certain move ? So what ???? College wrestlers get hit with moves they shouldn’t at that level ! Should you have quit wrestling after your last year of college wrestling when you went 12-8 ? Former NCAA finalist & you go 12-8 that’s sad
this match was crazy! hahah wasnt ready for that whirlwind. desanto always won his first match against top opponents but then everyone started figuring him out and won the next time.

Do a part 2 to the moves. There’s tons. You can separate the tier lists by position; top, bottom, and neutral.
i agree! great idea
Do a highest level high risk low reward shots
I like this one
I said it wrong just do shots the are high reward low risk
@@daddydaland8058 naw high risk low reward shot ranking sounds more fun

This is genuinely a fire video; you dont have world champions often ranking the viability of wrestling moves with such high amounts of knowledge
Thank you man i appreciate this🔥🥇

Very cool video idea. It would be helpful to see footage of the moves for those of us who don’t know wrastling that well.

What, no figure four? I know it's only legal in collegiate these days, but it still works. And it really should be brought back at lower levels.
