I love her style, clothes, decor and personality. I relate so much with the vintage coats love, I had a large amount I’d been collecting since high school but because of weight gain I couldn’t wear any longer, it was hard to let them go but I realized that someone else out in the world would be so happy to find them and love them the way I was as a teen and early 20s. Having that realization was the best mindset change I made when it came to letting things go.
Totally relate and totally agree. Such a great shift when you know your things are being loved and used out in the world xo

I can’t believe she still had pieces from when she was 18… 🙈 I don’t have anything that old in my closet, but then I’m not a sentimental person and I clean out my closet twice a year when the seasons change. It feels so freeing an refreshing to me.
The only thing I wish I still had was my cheerleading uniform from high school lol. I decluttered that decades ago but would really love to have that and maybe my varsity jacket too 😍
Ha ha, I’m over 60 and have some things left from my 20’s! But I do keep thinning out my stuff. I moved to another state going on two years ago and got rid of a lot of stuff, but I still have more to go. Hoping only the good stuff is left by the time I kick it! 😂
Your friend has style in droves - I loved all her outfits and hats and she looked fabulous in them. I'm very impressed at how she powered through the decisions - it was a pretty ruthless declutter!

I had everything from when I was young because I live in the same house I grew up in and that's why I still have them. Then, we renovated the house when I was 36. That's when I started to declutter / give away / throw away every old stuff. It's tough. I was still holding on to some things. It's a process.
I watched videos on decluttering and read books on the topic to motivate myself.
I had to do 3-4 rounds until I was brave enough to let go of childhood things, such as my 12 year old Mickey Mouse pencils, my university folders, books, clothes etc.
The easiest way to let go of stuff is to know that we can't take them to the grave. It's just stuff. No one else care about them.
Less/ No baggage equals happiness and freedom.

Decluttering is very spiritual to me. It’s a huge awakening of the mind. Life is not just consuming and collecting things but being present and conscience of the only actual time you have is now. I’m trying to always declutter, especially the mind to always be experiencing the now.

Michelle did really well with the decision making especially over the more sentimental items which can be really difficult and i enjoyedlisteningto the storiesand memories that were connected to the items- I'm m glad she made a good amount of money at the yard sale and I wish Michelle all the best in Paris and beyond 😊

She did so well! I like to sell things on eBay and Poshmark too but it does take a lot of patience. Some things take 1year to sell 😮 but I just think well it’s in a bin in the closet and it’s not hurting me so it’ll sell some day lol. I’ve sold sold a couple hundred excess clothing items and shoes in the last couple years. This video just motivated me to sell some more.

Great job! Yes, I remember NKOTB and Teen Beat magazines. Those were the days. I get how it can be hard to let go of stuff that's worth money, but if you can sell it, try that first before giving it away. Awesome organization and Samson is a Wonderful assistant. Sampson is nuts and I love him!!! What a transformation and you are very right, decluttering is addictive and once you start that addiction gains momentum. I am constantly looking around asking myself all the usual questions and somehow I still come up with tons of stuff to declutter.

My hallway closet was like Monica’s secret messy closet in Friends 😂 my mum came over and grabbed the door handle before I finished the word ‘no’ she was completely buried under Xmas decorations, handbags, coats… nerf guns 😂 she knows me very well so luckily she helped me and said she wondered where I stashed everything 😂

I view any space I’m decluttering as a container. I can keep anything I want and love, as long as it fits in my “container”. Wardrobe, kitchen cupboards etc are all containers🤷♀️

wouah congratulations to let go so much ! i am in transition to move the other way round, from France to Latin America ;) and i feel that i have to let go so many things to avoid to take too much or store stuff in my family garage.. so i am in the same process.. and Fall season is perfect for letting go I feel.. as the not more useful leaves.. we let go what serve us for past seasons now.. ;)

She did really good! I clean out my closet pretty regularly and I do sell on Poshmark, my nieces get a lot of stuff also. Now I really don't need to dress up for work becuz I have to wear a uniform which makes me sad because I love to shop!!!!
