This was way harder than I expected it to be, but awesome at the same time! As a dog lover, I thought I would get them all…until questions about how many muscles control dog ears, lol! I learned a lot and welcome more quizzes like this!! ❤️
Pretty cool quiz. I got 4 wrong but, to be fair, 2 of those were the muscles in the ears and teeth questions. I mean, for the most part, those are what a veterinarian student learns lol. And another was the overweight question. As soon as it was asked my initial thought was Dachshund but that wasnt an option. So I picked Beagle. Maybe it's the Lab only cuz more people own them. But still a cool quiz and worth the time to take if you love dogs.
Missed 5. The ones about stuff like "how many muscles do dogs have in their ears" etc. were a bit difficult. Fun little quiz though! The pupper at 6:50 has the cutest floppy ears! And the last one is most likely st. bernard. Had to use google translate on that, since it's bernhardinkoira in Finnish 😂 so tempting to add the h...
@@julievanamsterdam136 Sorry, I was being sarcastic. Didn't mean any offense. It's just that the front paw (which is what we're discussing here) is analogous to a person's hand. The front leg is analogous to a person's arm. The front leg has an "elbow" and attaches at the shoulder, just like a human arm. The fifth digit (analogous to our thumb) has moved up the leg to the point where it is completely vistigial and useless. It is known as the "dew claw" and consists only of a pad and a nail. Most breeders remove the nail at birth when it is very small so it doesn't cause problems later, such as getting torn off while running. On the back feet the dewclaw has disappeared entirely in almost all breeds (and in all wolves and coyotes) so the dog may be said to have 4 toes on each back foot and 4 toes on each front foot. Saying that there are 5 toes because you're counting the dewclaw as a toe is just misleading.
Dogs pant and have their tongue hang out when they are hot because they have no sweat glands, even on the pads of their feet and it's their only way to cool down their body temp.
There was a border collie in VA whose owner taught him to recognize 600 different words. His name was Cruiser and he was interviewed with his owner by Neil Degrasse Tyson. Waaaaay more than the 200 you said was the correct answer.
Missed four, my guess on the last is Bernese. I think FCI recognized almost 450 breeds at one point, so I missed that one, as well as some other breeding related ones. Did get all the breed related ones correct but as a geneticist who worked with dogs, that’d have been a shame to miss those.
Missed the # of teeth & based on the face/jowls, guessing #31 is a St. Bernard, though I've never seen one w such a short coat...perhaps it's growing out from a beach cut?
Some of the answers were too simplistic. For example, most dogs do go into heat twice a year, but the Basenji only goes into heat once a year (most primitive breeds are like this). Still, I got all the questions right.
@@lindaannkroeker6716 Thanks Linda, I didn't know that there were different coat types. I have never seen a smooth coated one, even just in pictures. 😀💕
@@elinkeykramme6511 I love them both. Unfortunately no. I live in a facility for people with handicaps. I can't walk. I wish I had a dog. Or a cat. Or anything. I LOVE animals.
Bark the whole day? That’s a bit of a misconception! Train them we’ll enough, and the only time they bark is if they’re “guarding the house” from pedestrians getting a little to close. Unconditional love? Let’s put it simply. Wolves are pack animals, and dogs are descended from wolves. So the people raising the dog become their “pack”; become their “family”. The dog doesn’t know any different.
Precisely. This Bull Terrier literally barks from 6 am to 6 pm. - at the wall. And then an encore at midnight. I don't know his owners. But I know him very well. And I don't like him.
Saint Bernard is my guess - 27/31 I love dogs! 🤔😜

Missed only three, to my amazement. The last one is a type of St. Bernard, judging by the head.
I know a lot about dogs

I'm glad you liked it even though you found it difficult, but the important thing is that it helped you learn new things about our furry friends. 😘
I got 24/31. The last question: St-Bernard

Question 12 - Dogs have only FOUR toes on each front paw, not five!! The dew claw is effectively the fifth, but it's not on the paw, it's on the leg.
Isn't paw the word you use for the leg of an animal?
