Is it better to get the adapter for the hero 8 or should I try my media mod for some reason I plug the mic into the mod and still no audio?

Great walkthrough. For anyone else trying this for the first time I would recommend mounting your camera before you mount the mic adapter. Because your camera has to be in a specific position, it will be easier to mount it first then position the microphone adapter where you need it for proper/secure connection.
Nice! I actually searched through your videos a couple weeks back to see if you had made a setup video. Thanks for doing this, it's really appreciated. I'm waiting for my Bell qualifier to come and then I'll be able to mount the GoPro! I'm from the east central part of Illinois btw. About 20 miles west of Terre Haute, Indiana. I'm always up for a ride.

That's a sweet set up!! I remember back in 06 I took apart headphones and mounted the speakers in my helmet and ran a cord out of the back to a ipod shuffle, that was BALLIN back then🤣😂🤣

Great vid just wanted to mention they have a GoPro Housing case that has a slot for that mic jack so you don't have to stick it to your helmet.

As seen before, the accessories/mounts can break free in a spill; are there any hazards in removing the helmet after a crash with this setup? Thinking out loud. My wreck was with a deer and alone; didn't walk away, but protected my phone and luckily no helmet problems. Different scenarios. Am a fan.

Excellent content and well executed. I have the same setup except my gopro case has a location as part of the case that holds the mic adapter. That saves a whole step of having to put it on your helmet. I can remove the gopro from the helmet and put it on my handheld tripod for walking blogging or talking to my camera. I'm curious if you have seen one and if you have why you didn't use it? Mine is a ulanze I got three years ago. Cheers from NZ

Hey brian, I dont know if you've discussed this in a previous video, but what exhaust set up do you have on your main 636? I think it sounds amazing. Although im not sure if it would work on an 06 636, but if I knew the exhaust, I could see if its compatible. I really appreciate it!

What are your gorpo mic settings because mine keeps getting some kind of craccking popping noise ...
Gopro are great and I will be getting one very soon but I can't understand the mic adapter requirement.. You would think they would come up with a better system? The 60 dollar akaso needs no adapter and my mic set up is so convenient and compact and easy and sounds great. IL be getting an external audi recorder anyway but still for vlogging u would think they'd have a better set up for mics
I've seen someone wrap their phone (I guess you could just fit a field recorder instead) in a tshirt or some similar cloth, placing it underneath the seat, so youve got a really nice exhaust note & the audio from your helmet setup. just sync after post or whatever.

I set my helmet up basically just like that. Stuck the mic inside in a good place for very little wind noise. Plus I have my coms system set the same. The only thing is it picks up a lot of wind noise. I have a black cat plus I have inside the black go pro mesh housing and works a little better. What am I doing wrong? 🙏🏻

Have you tried the GoPro Media mod? and if so how did you feel about it? It seens like a solid way to eliminate the mic adapter

For the hero 8 can’t you use a media mod instead of a mic adapter?
Pro tip: for the chin mount heat up the glue behind so it sticks like crazy

Yes because the microphone is inside the helmet. You’re getting wind noise from the stock microphone because it’s outside the helmet

I have tried everything to keep the mic adapter stick to my helmet but it always starts coming off after a day o so, The mic adapter doesn't stick flush to the helmet due to the curve shape.
