  • Today we take a guided day trip through the amazing area of the Cotswolds! We visit the picturesque villages of Burford, Bibury, Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold (as the title suggests). Each village offers many different things and we thoroughly enjoyed each unique one! It was such a great day! To top the night off, we headed to Camden Market to eat some late night street food before calling it a day.

The only draw back of living in Biburry etc is visitors forgetting these are peoples homes. My friend has had people try to walk in,, put their heads against windows. Block her door doing endless social media filming etc

Ah, guys! I have travelled, South America, North& South West Africa, Nearly all of Asia, Australaisa...
The Cotswolds, Cornwall, West Coast Wales, and South Eastern Ireland are the 'cutest' villages I have ever seen .. (YES, I have been all over Austro-Hungarian villages, beyond GRIMM tales - ergo 'Black Forest)
But..I have yet seen a cuter/quainter village than SE, UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best American tourist videos I’ve seen, you actually got around a lot seeing places tourists don’t get to see. Kudos for even going to the Cotswolds, very impressive.
And just as impressive is your accurate pronunciation of most places 👍

The alleyway that you went down when you were in Stow on the wold was designed to count sheep. Sheep were walked to market to be sold. When they got to the destination, they were sent down the alleyway known as tures, so they could be counted when entering the market place which you were in when you caught the bus back. There are quite a few alleyways around Stow. At one time, you could get 20,000 sheep in the marketplace at one time.
It was also were 200 soldiers were killed during the English civil war. With 1,500 kept prisoner in St Edwards church overnight.

The fish chips and peas you had looked awful. The fish, peas and chips were obviously frozen. For the best fish, chips and 'mushy, peas always go towards the coast, preferably the south east or west but the best has to be, the north west or north east 😊

There are a handful of old pubs in England that claim to be the oldest still serving, all with a good claim to the title. The one near me is “officially” named the oldest. The Bingley Arms, in Bardsey, Leeds, has been serving drinks and meals to this day to travellers since 905 AD, putting it over 1100 years old. Back then it was known as the Priests Inn and also acted as a courthouse around 1000AD. Just 500 yards down the road is All Hallows church, an Anglo Saxon building still in use that dates back to the mid 9th century, so is older than the pub and is believed to be built on an older Roman building. Both these buildings were standing when the Vikings were causing mischief and mayhem around these parts….if only they could talk.
