    I’m just going to say that Dark Divine is their best album, second best is An Eye For An Eye

    • @richard6200
      @richard6200 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      right?? tho it was soft but that doesn't mean it was "weak"

    • @NewPlagues
      @NewPlagues 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would put When We Don't Exist, Dark Divine, and then An Eye For An Eye. Honestly they don't put out a bad album tbh. Dark Divine was softer but you can feel the emotions in that album.

      Cody Jernigan i honestly think they deserve be be a larger headlining staple of metalcore. they just haven’t gotten their moment somehow yet :/

      @@david8264 which blows my mind because they've been pretty consistent since the beginning. I can see it being after this album tho.

    I've been a fan of Chris's since his Emarosa/Agraceful days and this shit right here bring me back to When We Don't Exist and An Eye For An Eye kinda vibes. This band doesn't disappoint whatsoever and the fact that some people didn't care for the more personal softer sound of Dark Divine is kinda weird but I can see why some people think that. I thought it had plenty of heavy parts just a different take on "heavy"

    • @nameless6886
      @nameless6886 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i totally agree with you, like, it's softer than the dying things we live for but it has his heavy side in a way and i really like it, chris has an amazing voice and hearing more of his softer side is awesome. they have their sound and you can identify them for that, it's one of the things that i like

    While their last album was "softer" I absolutely loved it. From front to back that album is fantastic. I mean, I think they wanted to get outside of their comfort zone and not just make an album full of breakdowns. I think with that album it has helped them grow and create music that feels full and mature.

    The album is banger. Great complex drums and riffs, good ambient notes, bleghs, catchy hooks, etc. Overall, solid album. I don't dislike any of the tracks. Even the less favorable ones are good enough to play.

    I love it. Definitely better than most of the heavy stuff from their last album, which I'm not saying was bad. I just think that this has much more unique riffage. It's basically the route Wage War should've taken on their last album. Wish they could just blow up already.

  • @CFLaughs
    @CFLaughs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dark Divine is so underappreciated in my opinion and I absolutely love that album but I respect their wishes to go back to the heavy as fuck sounds from their first 2 albums. Just got done listening to the entirety of No Eternity in Gold and it's amazing if you're in the mood for heavy tracks!

  • @str1897

    Their last Ep was so good, 3 songs ep, really worth checking
    Looks like they are going they are going back to metalcore, even djent (like VoM or Erra djent) at some point
    If all the record is like that this will be a masterpiece

    • @jasonlovesmusicreacting882
      @jasonlovesmusicreacting882 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, they were always a metalcore band lol. The only "soft" song from their last album was Empty The Same and Nowhere Left To Sink, which still has small breakdowns and heavy riffs at times. People tend to also completely dismiss The Dying Things We Live For, which is arguably their heaviest album.

    I loved Dark Divine, I thought they did a good job mixing in heavy and soft, False Idol and shallow truths for shallow minds were bangers and the rest of them except for like 3 were pretty heavy too. Most songs on that album were your typical metalcore songs, screaming verses, clean chorus. It was softer than their other stuff sure but I don't think it was soft. This newer shit from their little ep "Where Light Refuses to Go" to everything they've released so far from this new album is fire though in my opinion. I hope the whole album goes this hard.
