I've been looking for faith I am a lost soul. The Catholic Church holds the discipline and structure that I'm in need of. Thank you my friend for your videos
I am a newly converted Catholic; and I am still learning and messing up. I keep trying though; and I am very proud to be able to call myself a Catholic.
What convinced you to be catholic, eating the flesh of a sacrificed virgin male and drinking his blood in hopes of removing your guilt for the harm you cause other people? Or maybe the systematic abuse of children? Or is it the fact the catholic church celebrated Hitler's birthday every year until he died? Maybe what convinced you was the rejection of homosexuals and are considered to be born broken but commanded to be well under the threat of eternal torture? Maybe its the compulsory love that appeals to you , as a slave you must love your master? Is that what gets you excited?
This is awesome and needs to be seen in all platforms. Holy reverance has been forgotten by many. Sad to see women and men wearing shorts at Mass. Even if you are on vacation or just visiting. Dressing appropriate should always be done. Just bring your shorts to change into after Mass outside church.
Thank you for this guide. Raised a Protestant but really felt the love of Jesus and my great friends after the baptism of my God daughter. Tomorrow I'll be there with the proper respect to light a few candles. Once again thanks 😊
UPDATE: when i wrote this i had idea that COVID would put everything on hold for 2 years. I'm now a month into my RCIA classes. it felt surreal at first and that this is finally happening. so happy to finally be home Thank you for tips. I'm a baby Catholic right now and trying to learn as much as I can especially with etiquette and traditions. I'm hoping to join the church after I move
I teach Catechism to teenage boys and this is the perfect video because it is presented by a young man and it is not very long. The church is so beautiful and I can point out and compare our parish church to the one in the video. Our church is simpler, but it has all the important things that are in a Catholic church. Peace and blessings to all.
Great video however i would add not to talk to others in the church. Some people come to the church as if it was a pub talking to others and discussing how they week has gone.
Thank you for your faith filled discussion of Catholic Truth and Church etiquette. I like your accent, I am American, and I am a Traditional Catholic. Enjoyed your video. 🌲👑🌲
The Tabernacle is usually kept at the Altar You will see a red lantern that will constantly blaze up until the Triduum at Easter a solemn and sad time of reflection. The Tabernacle can be found in another area of the Church sometimes in a place of great reverence sometimes gated. Generally, it is behind or near the Altar.
Excellent video! Thank you very much for the simple reminders of etiquette in the Church. Sometimes we can get so caught up in ourselves and complacent that we lose respect for Our Lord and that can be very dangerous!
You set a great example. I also have to admit it the holy aura from a lady is very attractive in an inspiring way. It makes me want to be better, and be more confident about expressing my faith.
Do you wear one just in chapel or all the time? I wear a small one all the time (a lace one, bandana, etc) But I just bought a special long one just for church.
Hello. Hope you are well. I'm converting and really want to go to mass. This answered a lot of my questions. Thank you very much. Hope things are well in Scotland. Dominus Vobiscum

I have recently accepted God into my life but haven’t yet put a label to Christian or Catholic. I’ve attended mass only a couple of times, by myself, but grew up not religious and get very confused. If anyone is able to explain some simple traditions in church: Are there specific times we cross ourselves? When do we know to stand or kneel, to fit in with everyone else? Is bowing or kneeling a must whenever we enter? When the priest is reading verses, how do we know when to recite, and we need to hold our palms to the sky? If I have tattoos, do I need to have them all covered? Sorry if these seem very miniscule or specific. I’m sure I have more questions, and I know being with a religion and God is more than just some common traditions in church, but I do want to fit in and not disrespect anyone. As I said, I never grew up religious, I am 22 years old and have started going to mass alone so unfortunately I get very confused and carried away with the little things. Hopefully these start to make sense soon and mass will become regular for me but any answers are appreciated, thank you.
One thing to add: I've yet to be baptized into the faith (in RCIA class now & baptism set for Easter Vigil, 2021). When you enter, you can bow towards the altar, but unless the Eucharist is out and upon it, to which you do down to your kneeS, turn to the Tabernacle and bow to it. To bow to the altar when empty is a sign of respect, but you are leaving out acknowledgement of the Lord within the Tabernacle. I learned of this my 4th or 5th Mass, and see it constantly being done incorrectly. To that, should I privately speak with someone on correcting the action, or leave it to God? I don't wish to make enemies before baptism, especially in this day and age. God bless.

This video is great. I intend to show it to my new P6/7 class that should already be familiar with Catholic Church etiquette. *The background sounds throughout the video are a distraction - especially to my class!
Well done faithful servant. One other thing you might mention, participating in the liturgy by the faithful rather than sitting or standing without any response. Also take the unneceessary conversations in the nave of the church after mass outside.
ok, so according to 23 and Me, I'm 80 percent Irish descent...My Gran did all of the Catholic things. It didn't stick for me but I still like thinking about it! Especially, when a crazy thunderstorm would roll in and she'd get the "holy water" out and throw it around!
Hi there not name is Craig I didn't start as Catholic but being very long time now I think the etiquette is important and porticals for the Catholic Church I am going now they mostly don't follow that of the holy water I do prepare myself for the mass even on the way out. Your supposed to do prayers after the mass as well like before the mass bit people hardly do that
I wish they would bring the veil back. In Uk. I would wear it. May the lord help us all at this dreadful time. Lots of souls have been lost too this awful virus. May they all RIP. Xxxx
It is certainly not forbidden. You can still cover your head as a personal choice even if no one else in your church does. You might even inspire others to start doing the same. I've found that people often don't do these things just because they don't want to be the first one to do it, but when it's another person they feel more welcomed to do it. In my church it was common to receive the eucharist in the hand while standing, until someone started to receive it on their knees and directly in the mouth and now most people do it that way because they think it's more respectful.
Bowing is quite acceptable. People with knee issues,eg. Arthritis can keep their butts on the pew, or receive Holy Communion standing, if it is a particular church custom to kneel for receiving Communion(common sense dictates here).
I have a visual impairment mobility issues and walk with a long cane I genuflect holding on to either my cane or the end of the pew If I can't genuflect, I'll bow
Don't talk and call out to folk on your way out. Some people like to have quiet time and remain in their seats. It's very disrespectful for others to stand at the back chatting. And sing ! Join in!
I am the daughter of a Presbyterian elder. I am considering atteniding a mass but now I'm afraid of not doing the right things. If I don't kneel upon entering will those around me be offended? I there anything else I should be mindful of as a visiting non catholic? I understand communion is not open.
Welcome! If you don't kneel most people coming to Mass are settling in and won't notice. Come with a Catholic friend and follow their lead. You're going to be fine. Bless you!
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “Christ is not so much interested in how often in your lives you stumble and fall, as in how often you pick yourselves up again. He does not demand glittering achievements, but he wants his light to shine in you. He does not call you because you are good and perfect, but because he is good, and he wants to make you his friends. Yes, you are the light of the world because Jesus is your light. You are Christians - not because you do special and extraordinary things, but because Christ is in your life. You are holy because his grace is a work in you.”
On the 'out-dated' note you made about the mantilla's.. it IS still church doctrine that women wear it "in the presence of Christ". We're not wearing it as a fashion statement, ladies.. we're wearing it in respect, love and devotion to our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. Get those mantilla's! There is no set rule to the color you should wear, etc. as long as you have one and don it before entering into the chapel. Love ya' all! If other people have a problem with it, let it go.. its for respect and adoration o Christ, not your pride.
I was raised when entering the tabernacle, take holy oil, kneel at front entrance and make sign of cross, honoring the tabernacle then before I sit kneel again before the Lord. The Third bow/kneel is when taking the host/communion. This is the beauty of the catholic chuch is unity in Christ.
In Judaism the right side means for God/good and left side Devil/Evil. In Judaism everything, every letter and number has a definition, a true rich meaning. Something we lost in the English language!
Yes! Thank you! I caught that, too! I'm going to show this to my Catechism class and I will have to point out that error. Too important to let it go without correction.
You forgot to mention, that just a 'non-Catholics' do not use holy water to bless themselves, they don't need to genuflect, because, in the main, they do not believe in Transubstantiation. Also the Bread is not 'reserved', in other words, it is not stored. At each celebration of Holy Communion, any bread or wine not distributed to the Faithful is consumed by Priest and people
Better to stick it in your pocket first before your mother or grandmother sees you chewing on it. It should be spit out before you get in the building or wrapped in a scrap of paper and put in a trash receptacle.
@@SanctaFamiliaMedia Wrong if it were true that Catholics lived by scripture then they would allow priests to marry. Thus a lot of Paedophilia would not exist. But because they place tradition above the Word of God that is why you have all these problems. You guys got it all wrong but you just don't want to acknowledge the truth.
Scripture AND tradition. Anyway I see you are here to cast insults and not for a pleasant chat. I shake the dust from my sandals and move on. May God bless you and lead you to his Church
@Terry Date My word! Paul was never against the institution of marriage between a man and a woman. In fact he gave many teachings on this subject. The Roman Catholic Church does not allow a priest to be married. Paul wanted to marry but decided not to it was a choice he made. The Catholic Cult makes that choice for you. That is the difference.
The Catholic Church is continuation of Judaism, so it’s very important to remember where it came from! And Yeshua ( Jesus) IS STILL a Jew!! That’s the one thing I like is how much the Catholic Mass is still designed like the Synagogues in His time!
Also too, please do not chat before or during mass. You are in the Lord’s house, not yours or your friends’.The mass is all about the Lord, so you should participate fully. If you have a crying/unsettled children with you, please please take them out. It’s disrespectful and disrupts the mass. I get annoyed when I cannot concentrate just because irresponsible parents are just too lazy to take their crying kids out of church during mass.
That's one thing that really grinds my gears! I believe that kids crying are praising God in their od. Special way Here's the million dollar question I have a mate who's non verbal, does this mean he shouldn't come to church?
Most Christian’s take it out of context. You must know the Jewish custom and culture to know what St Paul meant. In Judaism a single person was ONLY to cover at Synagogue! And a married woman covered for respect to her husband and God. But the Rabbi or Priest would never speak to a married woman covered but would unveil her before speaking to her! She did also cover in Synagogue. The difference is Synagogues are much more considered a “ holy place “ than churches today. I’ve been told a Catholic Church has that same level of holiness. Protestant Churches have no level of “ holiness” and that tells a person a lot! Because Jesus isn’t in their churches.
I've been looking for faith I am a lost soul. The Catholic Church holds the discipline and structure that I'm in need of. Thank you my friend for your videos

hi, how's it going?
It’s sad to hear veiling called “outdated.” I know many women who veil. I think it’s very respectful.
We arent saying its wrong. We love it! We are just saying that most women these days dont do it.
True. I am a non catholic ( but I am looking into it ) and I wear a covering all the time.
I converted to Catholism in a white veil I still use it now and again. For me it was respectful, St Paul said that.
Started veiling as a non-catholic teenager, felt necessary to recognize God as my Head.
It's actually quite common at the TLM I attend on Sundays, even among quite young women.
Such concise and helpful information for converts and seasoned Catholics alike 🙏
Very well said
Well Done. Thank you from far away in Milwaukee Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. :^)
Put the gum in your pocket lol
Infernal Majesty yeah not a good idea :P
I was hearing all the lady's groaning lol
Yes, hopefully you’ll have a tissue. We don’t want your gum on the pews, walls, or on the floor.
Say what ?
Isn't this shit as sick as you can get

I still wear a veil
You set a great example. I also have to admit it the holy aura from a lady is very attractive in an inspiring way. It makes me want to be better, and be more confident about expressing my faith.
Well done.
Do you wear one just in chapel or all the time?
I wear a small one all the time (a lace one, bandana, etc)
But I just bought a special long one just for church.
I love the Mantilla and it's a great shame I no longer see them at Mass.
I veil too
Being a Catholic is quite complicated. But when properly explained, quite a nice religion.
Nothing causes itself. Eternity = God the Father = causes and sustains everything. When you are baptised you become a child of God.
Thanks for the helpful videos! God bless!
This was very well done and it covered all of the points. Thank you for taking the time to do this
Great choice of cap John :) But this is great information for all Catholics of all ages :)
Ellis Spear why thank you

Thank you for posting this video. I found it very usual and informative.

You could get a card with the order of Mass at a Catholic bookstore
I was taught to always make the sign of the cross with your right hand and to always genuflect with your right knee.
One thing to add: I've yet to be baptized into the faith (in RCIA class now & baptism set for Easter Vigil, 2021). Thank You so much, for giving a Just of what has to be done
Thank you for this video. I was wondering what the etiquette is for people who are unable to kneel down but want to remain respectful.

Thank you so much for giving a Jist, and Etiquette to follow, and clothing to be worn, not Bermudas, short skirts and the Proper Attire to be worn
One of the readers in my church wears shorts and tee shirt. I know I shouldn’t think less of him but I think it’s disrespectful
This is an excellent video, well explained!
Very helpful thank you
A lot more women are veiling again as the TLM is returning. A good thing.
Brilliant vid , cheers
This is indeed very useful, thank´s man.
Okay, you have the cutest accent in the world.
thank you. lanarkshire scottish accent
Thank you brother 🕊🙏🏼🕊

wearing a mantilla is respect for Our Lord in the tabernacle. Holy water SHOULD contain salt in the special blessing by a true priest.

What about all the chattering before mass begins? Is that a Vatican ll change?
Thanks for sharing
Just have respect and have manners.❤️

We have contact with a Dutch Catholic foundation: Stichting Acutis, maybe you can contact them about it?

Instead of veils I like the scarfs that Russian and Greek Catholics (not orthodox) wear.
Why are they putting gum in there pocket? It will stick to the inside.
Lol that’s what I thought! Haha
Laughed at your well demonstrated misbehavior
So helpful your telling that we are not worshipping the statue, just being reminded of the person/ saint.
The old graven image confusion is real.
I love everything about the church but the status.
This might have been good without all the background noise (or was that supposed to be music?)
Thank you for this :)

Yes! Thank you! I caught that, too! I'm going to show this to my Catechism class and I will have to point out that error. Too important to let it go without correction.
Imagine thinking a mantilla is outdated. Sad.
we dont!
I take off my shoes at home. Wife does not wear a veil. I haven't seen anyone knell on two knees.
You forgot to mention, that just a 'non-Catholics' do not use holy water to bless themselves, they don't need to genuflect, because, in the main, they do not believe in Transubstantiation. Also the Bread is not 'reserved', in other words, it is not stored. At each celebration of Holy Communion, any bread or wine not distributed to the Faithful is consumed by Priest and people
Thank you, but the gum in your pocket, I am not sure about that.
Better to stick it in your pocket first before your mother or grandmother sees you chewing on it.
It should be spit out before you get in the building or wrapped in a scrap of paper and put in a trash receptacle.
The main choice for this video is very strange. Still, thank you for making this video.
👍👍👍👍
Laudetur Iesus Christus!
Holy Water? Really where do I get instructions about Holy Water in scripture?
Catholics live by both scripture and tradition. Try breathing with both lungs for once

Wrong if it were true that Catholics lived by scripture then they would allow priests to marry.
@@SanctaFamiliaMedia
not true no insults intended just reality.
@Terry Date
My word!
Scotland
Is he Scottish
I wouldn’t make reference to Jews and Muslims or any religion other Than the one true and holy and apostolic church
Special way
Here's the million dollar question
I have a mate who's non verbal, does this mean he shouldn't come to church?
thanks*
It is in the Holy Bible that a woman should have her head covered.
is simply an ancient sign of respect and devotion
Amen
Because Jesus isn’t in their churches.
bro I'm not putting my gum in my pocket
Lol why enter chewing gum in the first place. These Irish are nuts
He's not Irish. He's Scottish🏴

The people in my parish would be appalled hear all this. You can't talk about last night's football game???
You shouldn’t in a holy sanctuary! Maybe the parking lot would be a good place for that! 😊
