I include weighted calisthenics on my training regimen. Most gym bros don’t like doing them because it’s hard. I do them for hypertrophy and it looks cool af! 🤷
I have to say, that your videos are not only really high quality and aesthetically pleasing, but more importantly really have a great value. I especially like your approach on Fitness in a way, that is realistic an sustainable, as well as healthy. Thanks !
I just wanna say how good your videos are. You are super articulate and your videos are so beneficial. The way you explain things really helps me understand things clearly. Much better than other general fitness youtube channels. Also really been loving your free workout plan. Keep it up, man!
I’ve been doing more Pilates ! I guess I consider that my body weight training and honestly it feels amazing it helps me so much with getting in tune with my body. Thank you for this !
I am over 50 , trying to get into shape, listenning to some of your comments helps me to stay motivated and engaged. So thank you and good luck with the channel.
Hi Wanhee. Main reason why I subbed is your straight the point approach in weight loss. I’m tired of watching influencers from bigger channels trying to sell me something or doing videos for clout. It’s also great seeing a fellow Asian since we have similar body types. Keep up the good work.
Your videos are really easy to watch and calming, even though ADHD makes focusing a struggle I do try to improve it nonetheless by silent/ single task focus. But when I feel like I can watch your videos with full attention all the way through and I love it
This is realy inspiring. Actually i am going through a Low please in life , Lost job, , bad habits, bad sleep cycle, But now I took the high road and Planned to get 1. Learning a high Income skill 2. Build a good physicue , since I lost job so cant spend on it and here your video was inspiring big time 3. Get a survival job till I get ready with my high income skill. 4. Meditate and be aware of the situation to not get swayed away in tough times. Thats my plan . 4. But the most important is , Being consistent , I will do it everyday .
Yoyooo love your philosophy behind training and striving to be healthy in the long run. I am 20 and started with calisthenics almost 7 years ago, I don't think I ever kept my training consistent for more than a couple of months though. I also had some gym experience but never managed to stick to it, I was so focused on doing rather than being that I would eventually always slack off and give up. I am growing a lot and realizing many things about myself and how I want to approach life (and building that sexy farmer body) , the fact that your channel started at the same time is such a comfort to me and beautiful motivation to keep up my consistency. Thank you!!
Hello, subscribed a few weeks ago. Some video ideas, injury prevention/strengthening exercises for the whole body(ex. wrist exercise you demonstrated), video for the back, the important core exercises for gym or body weight movements for the aesthetic body (male AND female version), get to know you &/or Q&A. Really enjoying the way you present your info. & content. Thank you~
I love how you actually write down the things you wanted to do before working out. I feel inspired to carry a notebook anywhere. I realized I have so many ideas on what to do and I need to write them atleast for reference. Gonna do it!
You deserve the support bro, you’ve been incredibly helpful with me staying lean and getting into shape and keeping my mindset sharp. Thank you so very much.
Mate I have to say, when you said about being of no use if you can bench 200kg but cant even pull your own body weight, that spoke to me. I'm inspired to do more body weight training after watching your video.
Your content feels so refreshing compared to other fitness creators,, you have a different perspective on exercise that makes it feel much more realistic and achievable! So thank you!! Won’t skip the ads cuz you deserve all the support ;^)
My man functional body is everything great video explaining everything it's all about how you can control your body freely not how much you lift everyone wants to be bigger these days ,but eventually they get injured because of that
Finally someone who just tells you what you need to know without all the BS. Don't ever change, training apps and programs and money or none of that, don't ever change! Also lots of respect for the elderly and also the buy doing dips.
I'm impressed by how many people are in this park. Like, there is the same things over here in my country, but I've never seems someone using it, except the kids, who are just playing
As someone who's more interested in calisthenics than weight training, I found this pretty informative and inspiring. I've been away from bodyweight training for quite some time and needed something to refresh my memory and motivate me to start training again, and this video was it! 정말 고마워요~
Love this!! I always say I wish I can just depend on body weight training for my fitness but get overwhelmed SO SO fast! Nothing impresses me like calisthenic athletes but I honestly never seemed to figure out how to do it on my own with my scarce knowledge about it. But I genuinely think this video gave me couple ideas for a solid start
You're such an inspiration because you have the body of my dream physique. Lean and functional. I never really find the gym appealing and have been doing a lot of pushups at home. Definitely gonna try your suggestion.
I see some fitness influencers (or just self improvement influencers in general) attacking people in their videos because of where they are starting. I applaud you for not doing that and giving truthful advice that makes sense while explaining it in a clear, no bullcrap way. Your videos are amazing man, keep up the great work! 😄
idk why, for the past few years of the pandemic i've always set myself to always work out everyday and have no rest, and I keep giving up cause I was always aching because I just started working out. Now it's been 2 years since and I have made no progress. Now I've been planning to go back into working out and after considering rest days, they really do help a lot with my consistency and will to exercise. I've always disciplined myself to walk after every meal to reduce my fat and increase my walking endurance. Thanks a lot for inspiring me once again and giving actual helpful tips in order to continue working out :D
Thank you for this video. Watched this while doing my morning walk and this was so motivating. I'm happy to hear that more videos are coming about specific upper and lower body bodyweight workouts. Since I won't have access to a gym for several months, I need to help figuring out the best bodyweight workouts to do while at home.
Love the content man. I’ve alternated between body weight training and weight training and they’re both fantastic training methods that shouldn’t be ignored in favor of the other. Also, love the respect your elders message you put in there 🙏
I put off watching this video for too long, but it's clear to me that even if I do want to go to a gym, the injuries from which I am recovering pretty much render me a liability there. Body weight work seems to be a great place to start. Thanks for this valuable information!
Dude, everytihng you say is absolutely rational, logical, relatable and smart. No bullshit, nothing to lure viewers or whatever. Loving your content! By the way, it's a nice method that you keep talking in the thumbnail view and show yourself working out in the video. But, one critic there: It can be difficult at times to follow both the subtitle and what you're verbally saying as they can actually be two different things. Maybe it's me failing to multitask but it may be good to think about what can be improved there. Anyways, listening how to workout/diet from a phd holder does make a difference I guess haha! Respect!
I love your perspective on training. Your videos are so different from the other fitness channels that promote getting huge for the sake of getting huge. (Including the videos for women that promote getting a backside the size of a basketball) Also love your respect for the elders exercising in the background!
Very encouraging….my problem is the social component…I like working out in groups and once I get into a class, I can’t quit so it’s the accountability that helps. I wish I could be more disciplined to do some of these things on my own.
Wanhee thank you man, I started this week with the minimalist routine, I have been constant working out, but with this routine I feel much energize to workout, because of the mental "bar" that you talked about. Currently working on doing a proper pull up, that I haven't done before. Another thing that you have helped me with a lot, its actually taking notes of the reps and weight that I do. Before I used to go to the gym and do the same routine and I didn't feel that progress that I do know seeing the number of reps and weight going up. I really appreciate TH-cam recommending you.
Just quickly wanna say how great your content is! Found your channel 2 weeks ago more or less and really enjoy the minimalistic/zen approach you take in your videos and fitness style - Keep up the Great Work!
Love these insight videos and the straightforward yet relaxed tone. Good timing too ahead of holidays away from the home gym. Looking forward to the next one!
I know how you can thank your viewers: by continuing to create your style of videos 😁Honest, down to the ground and deep. At least that's the vibe i'm getting whenever i watch them and i love it. I think we all had enough of those overhyped, fake-happy kind of videos others created in the past.
A benefit of bodyweight in these outdoor areas I find is that it it gives you a playground mindset. And so a session is not work, you make gains just playing.
Top notch video. I love the fact, that you used this Taxi Driver clip! BW training is so versatile and you can easily adapt the different movements to your current state of body. Thumbs up!
i really love your videos. it’s not only the knowledge you provide i love the style of your videos and the way you think. i always failed to control my body weight due to overweight and a lack of muscle relatively to my body weight. recently reached my peak of 110kg again but lost 1 kg in the last 2 weeks so i think i’m on a good way to finally gain the control of my body. i think it’s so important for your self esteem and it would feel great to finally do a pull up or to do a couple push ups with ease
Thank you so much man. Comments like this make me really happy. Doing your first pull up! Dead hangs, inverted rows, scapular pull ups, negative pull ups ;) You can do it
For me its ok to go higher on 20 to 30 as long as you are hitting the muscle fatigue. As long as you are going muscle failure. Then rest for about 30 to 45 seconds. Then do another..
Yep, cool! I’m recovering from a surgery and haven’t been in the gym for six weeks. At home I’ve tried to move and work out to the extent I can without negatively impacting my recovery. I’ll be getting back to the gym soon, but it’s been important to move and find ways to use my muscles without being in the gym. Thanks. And, Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks for sharing. This was super helpful, and I took notes on some of your suggestions here, and will incorporate it. I first started body weight training out of sheer convenience. I literally had no excuse (“I don’t want to drive to the gym tonight!”). I roll out my mat, and do my thing in the living room. Little did I know that for me, the transformation was within the first 30-90 days (pretty immediate). The best results ever! And I’ve just kept it up. I do vary my training to keep my muscles tweaked so I don’t plateau.
I really had no interest in fitness before and I have to say that I really related to your past videos. I'm actually from the states and living in Korea, and so it really is great to just feel...connected in that way too. Thank you SO much, I sincerely appreciate your videos, the quality, but also the story-telling and just your logic. Wishing you all the best and for your channel to get the recognition it deserves!
You are doing a good job; invormative, no complicated info - can you make a video for absolute female beginners how to start moving and calisthenics/strength?
Loving these videos man! I’d love to watch a video about how you would lay out a full week body weight routine if that’s something you would wanna do. Thanks brother 🙏🏻
Awesome videos. You are able to make them motivating and relaxing (who else does jazz in fitness videos- no one - and it works super well here) at the same time. Some ideas for videos: food, fluids and micronutrients; mental clarity/focus/execution of plans; hygiene and other external care; injury prevention; hormesis (cold showers, ice baths, sauna, cardio etc; cardio/endurance; core strength training; rear deltoids which are harder to build; rotator cuff strength
Thank you! Didnt think of it that way the jazz thing. That's cool. Wow those are some great ideas. I could talk about some of them for sure but not all of them. We need you on youtube clearly!
Hi! I've just discovered your channel and now I'm so curious about all of the bodyweight training! I'd love to see you present some kind of a basic bodyweight training for beginners! Thank you for the video.
Just found your channel and subscribed straight away. You're a really clear communicator and clearly know your stuff, and I like the fact your videos are packed full with real information and not just gimmicky effects. Keep up the good work and thank you.
If you have places to hang them, gymnastic rings are a great minimalist equipment for bodyweight training. And then there are resistance bands which have infinite uses for both progressing and regressing basic movements.
bro here in the US we have nothing like the outside workout space you have in the video. it's sadd you have to go to the gym. i've also seen those spaces in places like Brazil. just happen to come across your channel. good info and keep up the good work. I've just gotten back into working out since the pandemic.
I would really appreciate it if you could focus more on the mentality side of losing weight and maintaining it after. I find that you articulate yourself well, and it would be nice to learn how you kept yourself consistent, etc. Keep up the good work! :)
@Wanhee 완희 Hello! I meant more of them, haha. For example, if you felt comfortable to it would be nice to hear about your mentality of your lowest days and how you fought through those or if you let yourself slip a little in order to give yourself a mental break etc. I think that would be really interesting.
You should definitely do a back pain video. I have collapsed discs between L4 and S1, these will not recover and so I have to manage this condition through stretches. Knowing which exercises can help, and more importantly which ones I should NOT do would be a massive help. Thank you.
I just came across your video channel today (12/16/22) and you provide GREAT simple practical tips. I started to subscribe to your channel. Continue to provide more value and content. Consider doing videos for specific age groups, such as men in their 50's , specific exercises for flat stomach/ Reducing belly fat.
If you do trainnings regularly for a year or two, you will realize that your eyes your look your energy levels changes completly in a good way! basically people become more beaufitul after they do trainnings. You will not realize it after a month or two, but if you compare the photos from before you will be shocked!!!
thanks for your videos! very relatable, simple, direct, practical, functional and easy to comprehend! hope you can come up with specific list of workout training in detail to follow for beginners wanting to have a lean physique as well as toned/ trimmed abdomen! keep up the good work and continue inspiring people! Thanks!
you've inspired me and so many others, so please keep going!!! Would love if you created bodyweight training versions of the exercise programs you provide on your website
A truly wonderful, informative and well edited video in natural setting. Helps with my current workout and goals in reshaping my physique. thank you for sharing and the effort. - from Malaysia.
Great post my man. How about a video on Calisthenics equipment you can use to take to the park or wherever like rings, kettle bells and more to help adapt with just a pull up par and parallel bars. 💪👊💥‼️ keep up your great work bro. Love it.
You can buy some Olympic rings and hang it on those pull up bars. Do some dips on the rings or hang them low for inverted rows and pushups. Your strength will increase a lot with rings.
Thank you for this man. I've been struggling with injuries left right and center, 30 years old but feel like I'm in my 60's. Always wanted to do calisthenics but always held off because of the injuries. Been trying a more body weight approach lately and it's been working out well. Looking forward to progressing with your help + channel. Subbed to channel + mailing list.
Thanks alot ❤you are really unique and honest person hope more success will come in your way. I always believed that what we taught in the gym in last years is not what we supposed to do or to be they always tried to make use body builders or famous athletes instead of listening to what we need in real life I know there few good coaches but they are hard to find i can thank TH-cam to help me find you ❤
love your videos man. i've been working out on the weekends at han river near seongsu, it's definitely nice to work out outside with the fresh air instead of lifting heavy weights in the basement gym. can't wait to see more of your clips in this channel!
I found your channel a few weeks ago. I just like the style that you deliver your content, very easy to follow what you are saying. I also like your dry sense of humor. I'm trying to get into more of just a body weight training program. I'm not very strong, and I'm old (60), but I have enough equipment in my basement to do everything I need to do. I tried accessing your link on the Three Minimalist Workout Routines but it doesn't seem to work for me. Thanks for all your content. Looking forward to more! 💪
Hey and thanks for the 411! I agree. I’m in my 60’s and decided I would start going to the gym in July. I love the strength training, how my body looks and feelings associated with that. I have been practicing the five Tibetan Rites, barre exercises and walking outside for years and stopped in lieu of weight training in the gym because I thought (as I was recovering from a frozen shoulder and had knee discomfort that I could use the gym machines to help my recovery instead of going to physical therapy. What I learned is weight training has its benefits but DOES NOT replace the benefits of strengthening and stretching that I receive from those other exercises where I use my body weight. I have now added primal movement body weight exercises to me regiment and I feel so much more flexible. When I tell my age, people are in disbelief. Yes, it is more difficult than just lifting weights but it gives an unparalleled satisfaction that makes it worth the time and effort.😃
Hi, my name is Rafael and I really want to start taking calisthenics seriously, I am dead set on doing a caloric deficit but I’m having a problem because I’m usually inconsistent in my workouts. I don’t have a workout plan, like at all, a quick push from you would be nice, just some advice is all I’m looking for.
You mentioned in an earlier video that weight training is important for weight loss. Can you do a video on a weight training routine for beginners that you can do at home? We don't have any access to a gym for now or any exercise parks like you have in Korea. So a simple and effective beginner routine would be greatly appreciated! And thanks so much for doing these videos! I'll make your videos my guide for a healthier and leaner 2023! 🙌
Here is the minimalist bodyweight workout routine you guys have been asking for! (it's free)

I just wanna say how good your videos are. You are super articulate and your videos are so beneficial. The way you explain things really helps me understand things clearly. Much better than other general fitness youtube channels. Also really been loving your free workout plan. Keep it up, man!

& content. Thank you~
"There's something really sexy about the idea of mastering your own body weight." I love that. It spoke to me. ❤️

Gotta put respect where it's due haha

First like hehe. Bodyweight training were almost overlooked by many because lifting weights were the trend in my experience. Great video.
Thanks man! Yeah and to be honest I also overlooked for a long time. Now I know better ;)

I am grateful to have this video just pop out of nowhere in my feed! Thank you!!
Loved the intro! Taxi Driver is one of my favorite movies, and the scene was used perfectly here.

You are doing a good job; invormative, no complicated info - can you make a video for absolute female beginners how to start moving and calisthenics/strength?
my program goes into it! it's in the description :)
Can you create a minimalist body weight training routine as well? You're fantastic btw!
Loving these videos man! I’d love to watch a video about how you would lay out a full week body weight routine if that’s something you would wanna do. Thanks brother 🙏🏻
Coming soon!
I've been watching the blow up and seems like I gotta get back to talking about fitness stuff too, cheers mate
Do it vince!
dips, pull ups, push ups, the frog, handstand and full planche are the exercises you need, good luck bros.
I like the minimalistic thumbnails!
I'm glad you like them!
great content ! i just started with bodyweight training :) greetings from Germany
You speak with such serenity, handsome and smart, I'm definitely subscribing
I started fasting every other day and it's been great for weight loss.
The wisest advice I've done across in decades. Thank you🙏🏾
Awesome videos.
Calisthenics with rings is a game changer. Buying a good pair or rings it's the best investment you can do.
Great advise and reflection on bodyweight. There is a good feeling in being able to work out without equipment.
Hey Megan! Did you see my last video about the mentality side of losing weight and maintaining it? Do you mean make more of them?
@Wanhee 완희 Hello! I meant more of them, haha. For example, if you felt comfortable to it would be nice to hear about your mentality of your lowest days and how you fought through those or if you let yourself slip a little in order to give yourself a mental break etc. I think that would be really interesting.
@@meganhigbee9893alright! I definitely could do sth like that soon :)
@@wanheekim I appreciate it. :)
Yessir! Thank you for your support. A lot of the principles I share are applicable across age groups :) Belly fat one coming soon!
Nice video brother! I really miss Seoul and Hangang Park!!! Keep up the top quality content mate👍
Thanks Andrew! The parks nice ey?
Thanks dude. You are giving me the energy to start calisthenics again 🙏
If you do trainnings regularly for a year or two, you will realize that your eyes your look your energy levels changes completly in a good way! basically people become more beaufitul after they do trainnings. You will not realize it after a month or two, but if you compare the photos from before you will be shocked!!!
bro, love your down to earth tips and philosophical rationale behind them ,please keep up the good work!
Yes! You described my thing to a tee.
Thanks so much for your videos Wanhee! I've committed to your Minimilist Training Program for 1 year at least.
Hell yeah!
Respect. Keep these videos up, I subbed, brother.
thanks for your videos! very relatable, simple, direct, practical, functional and easy to comprehend! hope you can come up with specific list of workout training in detail to follow for beginners wanting to have a lean physique as well as toned/ trimmed abdomen! keep up the good work and continue inspiring people! Thanks!
The free minimalist workouts I used are in the description!
you've inspired me and so many others, so please keep going!!! Would love if you created bodyweight training versions of the exercise programs you provide on your website
Thank you! I'll be working on the bodyweight guide!
Im grateful that i found you. On IF now, and will start to incorporate exercise and if i can afford, will subscribe to your program
A truly wonderful, informative and well edited video in natural setting. Helps with my current workout and goals in reshaping my physique. thank you for sharing and the effort. - from Malaysia.
My new training Guru! Very useful tips and facts! Trank you!! Greets from Germany!
Yes a back pain video would be interesting!!
I come to this video often to reset my knowledge and motivation!
The storytelling is really good !
Thank you!!
Thank you! First comment on dry humour haha. The link should work. Email might arrive a little late (1 min delay)?
Love to see all of the sr's movin' and groovin'
Love the inputs! Please more practical tips in the future (such as working towards the one arm push up etc)
Excellent video and I got a lot out of it too! Thank you. I look forward to more. I wish that we had these great exercise parks in Hawaii.
