No pyro and/or fire?
I know right! They don’t do pyro in clubs here. There was a huge club fire in the early 2000’s (great white concert), that killed a bunch of people due to the pyro (even one of the band members). Since then they don’t really do pyro in club shows. Each state has different laws, but I can say I haven’t seen it in club shows since. We do get pyro in arenas. I can’t wait to see Powerwolf in Finland, for the pyro and of course for their awesomeness.
@@MattsMoshPit1 I saw Powerwolf at Sweden Rock Festival last year and they where great but the show doesn’t look as good in daylight as it does when it’s dark. For some reason the largest rock/metal festivals in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden are all held in June when it gets dark really late, it usually isn’t fully dark until 10-11 PM depending how far north you are. So you end up watching a lot of bands and a lot of pyro in full daylight (black metal in the sun tends to look a bit silly 😄) .
That makes sense, it is tough to get the full effect in daylight. I do enjoy seeing black metal bands perform in the daytime on youtube , for the comedy of it. Although if I spent money to see them I would want the full effect at night.
I don't have time to watch the whole thing (leaving for Berlin in under an hour for Tarja and Marko Hietala), and might watch to the end tomorrow or so, but this seems to have been fun as hell! Which band did you like better? I personally would love to see Unleash the Archers, I'm only getting into their music but they have energy and Brittney is great and it's not every day you see a 6-string bass. I've only ever seen one being played live.
No worries, I don’t plan on taking it down anytime soon. I ended up putting up “The directors cut version” because there were too many copyright violations to try to edit out. Good thing this channel isn’t predicated on making money to support my family and I. Anyway that’s why it’s a long one. In my opinion well worth it, because I love both bands. I can say that I am more partial to Unleash the Archers. I love how their albums are concept albums where each song tells a chapter of the story. I know there are a ton of concept albums out there, but in many cases the story is very vague or the songs just have a similar tone. For me UTA’s music is very clear and you can truly follow the story. So live I loved when they played the Matriarch. Afterwords I had to explain to my wife who the matriarch was and how she was the villain in the story, etc….. so for me UTA adds an extra layer to the music. Also Brittney pointed at me 🤘. Powerwolf was just a ton of fun! I am so thankful to see both bands up close. You have to let me know about Marko and Tarja. They will be at the Tuska fest, so I will get to see them in June. I am sure you are in for a treat with them.
@@MattsMoshPit1 Welp, I know which venue to avoid after this experience. I can elaborate on request, but let's just say there was a maybe 2 hour delay. But both Marko's band and Tarja's were fantastic. I am more familiar with his solo work than hers and mostly went to see and hear him, and he didn't disappoint at all. Dude's voice sounds like in studio, maybe even better. He ended his set with Sabbath's War Pigs, after playing some yet unreleased songs from his upcoming album. Tarja was so great, full of energy, obviously great voice. The bassist from her band was right in front of me and that guy was having a blast. And of course Marko did some songs with them, including older Nightwish songs, but also some of Tarjas own songs. It was a great mood overall. I don't know what time slot they will each get at Tuska, but no matter how long it ends up being, you are definitely in for a treat.

@@MattsMoshPit1 They did! Also Dead to the World, which I love, and Wish I Had An Angel, which I did not expect. My husband had a blast 😂 and today I'm a zombie
