That is so cool. Alot of people are negative about a e bikes but when you get one you feel like you are young and a super athlete. What is not to love about that.
Love the videos, Lance. For all of the riders who are 50+ and perhaps a a bit cautious about getting out there you’re a bit inspirational. It’s really encouraging to see how many parks there are and how much fun can be had. Keep it up.
Great to see these businesses can afford to sponsor you, they must see a return on what you are giving them. Another good video. After 17 years of 4x4 wheeling its not cowshit its green mud
Another great video, you Kiwi’s are so lucky to have so many fantastic tracks (here in Aus, we’re still trying to catch up!). Hearing you Lance about solo rider caution, these days I carry a SPOT or PLB, our mobile reception is typically shite and you could be a long way from help. Keep the vids coming 👍👍
Hey Lance, great stuff I have been enjoying your content, my mate bought that old green plastic ,sorry ,near new one gentle owner green carbon thing ,off you a few weeks ago. Anyway shout out to the Summerhill landowners who have made their family farm forestry block available for the public to use with a donation or club membership format. Tons of hardwork and land use considerations go into this setup ,volunteers are crucial , good to see you being cautious solo. I was helping at Summer hill in the early days living on site saw heaps of dazed and confused legends in their own minds cartwheel into the bushes....me included, good times. Cheers
Hope the Levo is going well. I did enjoy riding that bike. I am hoping to one day spend a lot more time in TGA and get involved with the club and track building. At the moment Auckland still has a hold on me.
Another great video thank you Lance. I think you should carry one of those safety emergency beacon things with you. Just incase. Because you are right about the risk of not being found if you crashed and were on your own. They are a global positioning gadget. They might sponsor you one too 😊
As a fellow solo-riding geezer (and not quite as good a rider as you), I, too often get paranoid when riding down steep stuff. I have yet to ride at Summerhill, but I have ridden nearby Oropi Grove, and I've found the clay-like soil there can make the trails very slippery. Places like this I tend to leave for the Summer, when conditions are likely to be drier.
Covid looked proper steep Lance! You should definitely carry an emergency beacon. I know what you mean about riding alone, I'm slow to progress my skills riding alone, but once I see another rider clear a feature I feel like I can have a go too
You have probably seen on the videos but as a group we do lots of crazy stuff. On my own looking at a feature that I have never seen anyone ride before I get nervous. As soon as someone rides it your convenience rapidly goes up.
haa - great bastardly sponsorship tips! btw - Leatt makes my favorite riding glove of all time. Covid was pretty steep! Yeah, I get the ride creeps too on occasion when solo'ing. Especially when riding in areas were you're on your own and I think 'someone could jump me and steal my bike' (a few of my fave trails are in marginal urban areas in the woods, and those areas attract questionable types of folks, who just might want your bike more than you do - actually got motorbike jacked once) - that's some real paranoia!
Must admit I have never worried about someone robbing me which is good. I do sometimes worry someone might break into my car and I often set up cameras and worry someone might steal them. Most of the time when I film nobody is around.
Great video as usual! Just curious to why you're not running the display tucked away below to bar closer to stem? I figure that would give you a cleaner bar and view of the track. Cheers!
Rode yesterday in Rotorua. About 40km from the battery. Had to conserve it a bit to get that. Was riding with other lighter riders who got significantly more range. Being 20kg heavier makes a big difference with e bikes.
Gnarly on your own is a worry for me as well and even more so for my wife she felt helpless. So I ride with an InReach mini now she tracks me and knows we have messaging no matter where I am. (Peace of mind really) It all came to head for me riding down Te Munga in Roto in heavy rain 🌧 it was dark and a storm was closing in and no other addicts around.
If you have an Iphone you should get an apple watch ⌚️ as it has a fall Detection feature. If your riding by yourself and take a fall. It give 1min to tell it your ok. Or it will contact your chosen person that you’ve taken a fall and your location. 👍🏼
Only problem for fancy editing is that you lose the reality of the ride. I have done those tracks many times and they are exactly how you have captured them. Yes 'solo' you got to be realistic for sure. Good to bring it to people's attention 👍
You inspired me to buy my first eMTB. Had it picked up yesterday. Now I turned 40 and taken off 10 years. Now I am a child again. Keep inspiring.

Thanks for the kind words. Of course I am only fourty twelve. 😂
I agree - it's great seeing someone in our age class still rippin' it up
The commentary is amazing. Thank you!
Great to see these businesses can afford to sponsor you, they must see a return on what you are giving them. Another good video. After 17 years of 4x4 wheeling its not cowshit its green mud
Thanks Dan. Hopefully they do get a return and I can make it worthwhile for them.

Great advice. Still need to get that sorted.

Thanks Shelley. You are of course correct and I have looked at it but as usual not got around to it. Must do that.
@@bestdayevermtb2 please please do it!
Being on your own is always a concern out back in a forest somewhere..the idea is to be very careful and know the limit....great vid Lance.
Very sound advice.
Yeah I get those feels when riding solo too Lance! Only try out those sketchier jumps and drops when with company.
Sound advice. I am actually very calculated in what I choose to ride.
@@bestdayevermtb2 yeah I like to think so too
Another great video, glad to see all your hard work is starting to provide some perks. Well deserved
It is nice to get some perks but even better is the feeling that professional in the bike industry like what you do enough to be associated with you.
Enjoy your videos...always nice to see the places you go and the rides 🏆...KTM and Leatt are the best ..
Thanks for that. Yes I like my KTM and I think Leatt make cool stuff.
Safety is key, when riding solo, Keep up the fantastic video's 👌😃
You are not wrong. I am much more cautious on my own but even then things can still go wrong.
Lance you legend. I will Dropbox you the magic software. Don’t tell anyone…
Sounds excellent. Seems an easier option than actually learning to jump.
I bloody knew it!!!!😂
Awesome video lance, definitely going to head over for a look next fine weekend 👍👍 keep up the great work mate.
Definitely ride on a nice day. The tracks will be better and the view up there is amazing.
Loving the content keep it up from sunny Wales in the UK
Is that different to wales in Spain
Hope you guys have a good summer. Been out riding today but was bitterly cold.

Thanks for the feedback. Luckily the conditions were pretty good that day. I think that clay would be very slippery when wet.
Good riding Lance
Good stuff lance that covid track looked pretty steep even with the go pro effect.
It was pretty steep, but like most things one you have done it, it seems ok.
Another vote for a PLB. There's some really small and light ones available.
Check out the Ocean Signal RescueMe.

Actually you're right . If you don't ask you don't get.
The secret is knowing who to ask.

It was on a home made bracket so looks weird. I now have the proper bracket and it looks much better.
hi Lance what kind of range do you get on your electric bike.
Rode yesterday in Rotorua. About 40km from the battery. Had to conserve it a bit to get that. Was riding with other lighter riders who got significantly more range. Being 20kg heavier makes a big difference with e bikes.
You should have a try at sram not a hard one but super fun
Just out of interest what day did you ride it as it was murky weather yesterday?
Hey are you just trying the fit of the helmet before it goes out for sponsorship painting
Might have to paint it myself. 😁😁😁
Love your humour! 🤣🤣🤣
What school did you go to like mount
I went to Tauranga Boys College and Pyes Pa before that.
@@bestdayevermtb2 oh nice I’m at tauranga intermediate
Man! The timing. We couldve ride together. 😅
Get a PLB man, keeps the paranoia at bay. Good vid, been a few years since I've been to Summerhill. Looks like it is time to pay another visit...
You are right on the PLB. Must do that. They have done a lot of work in recent years on those tracks.
I think I have been watching since you had 5 subs 😊
Talk about a sucker for punishment. Some of those early videos were pretty bad.
Yip I’ve watch before the EasyBikes come along.. 😉
Bet it was a bit slippy decided to go Vegas and throw myself down hot x buns👍
Spent the day in Vegas today. Great fun.

Good advice Murray. I am a bit of a shocker at times as my wife doesn't even know which forest to look in if I didn't come home.
Bikelab are great. Got an Orbea Occam from them!
They do seem a nice bunch of guys.
Look you can see my house 😂🏡👍
Hey Lance. Get yourself an EPIRB.
I must do that.

That sounds pretty clever although don't have an iPhone and all technology hates me. Will look into that.
When the red bull helmet arrives you'll have too many helmets
Must be due to turn up any day now.

Thanks for the feedback. Not sure I know how to do fancy editing so all good.
Don't ride on your own
