This is one of the reasons why I say that Weiss should have been involved with Blake instead of Yang, with Weiss involved that would help develop Adam more as well as develop two out of the four main characters in what would essentially be the B plot and the writers would have had their representation at the same time, truth be told I don’t think Adam would care overall that Blake left, she would just be another enemy to him and a traitor to the cause, but when Weiss comes into play they both meet in that moment you can definitely say that both Weiss and Adam have every bit of motivation to want to take each other out in that moment and Blake would have been that catalyst
Imagine Adam revealing the scar on his face after Weiss went on a parade about how great her family's company is. The shock in her face, how it would affect her ability to fight Adam, how it would change her view of the White Fang and Faunus as a whole! Then, after coming in contact with other Faunus that have also been branded but have overcome the adversity this traumatic event caused, not with violence, but by moving on and carving a path for younger generations to live in a freer world, Weiss would regain her will to stand up to the White Fang - after all, not matter what they have been through, their terrorist actions are harming innocent people of both races. Finally Weiss and Adam sit face to face after he gets captured and she demands he tell her everything he suffered under her father's control, and THAT is when the team decides to go to Atlas to investigate the Schnee Dust Company, free slaves if there are still any working under those conditions, and arrest her father for his crimes. And that could lead to Adam changing as well, since he would be watching up close the supposedly most racist person in the world - a Schnee - working to free his people without spilling any unnecessary blood. There's the potential! It's always been there, but RT writers are oblivious to quality writing!
And when you get right down to it, Weiss would feel responsible for all the sins her company committed when her father was in charge. Their harsh treatment of the Faunus Labor was one of the many things that transformed the White Fang from an equal rights group to a terrorist organization. Adam was one of those victims. They made him a monster. Thus, Weiss feels more determined to take back what her father had stolen and tarnished from her family.
After watching this video and reading some of the comments here, leads me to believe even more that Adam should’ve been kept alive in the arc which has the same location his story all started: Atlas. Whether Adam got the brand during his slavery or even the other idea shown in the video, his character can oppose and challenge team RWBY’s ideas for peace, especially Weiss: a Schnee. Instead of bringing Adam down, his opposition can be used to bring team RWBY further up. Ruby can learn to understand Adam, even if he was the one who cut off her sister’s arm. Weiss can learn to stand up against her father (the main one responsible). The possibilities are endless. Adam’s fall from grace is one of the main reasons why I’m writing an alternate story that includes him but as a more sympathetic character. I would like to share it, but I just went through a rewrite, so there’s only two chapters. Hopefully there will be a reboot, just not made by the same writers.
Exactly, Adam is living proof of the consequences brought upon to the Faunus from the Human's greed and bigotry. Even if he dies, another Adam Taurus will get created to finish what he started if this continues. Plus, it proves how systematically flawed Atlas truly is. Even Cinder can be considered Adam's equal due to similar circumstances.
They actually outright stated that Adam was a worker in the Atlas mines.... ....In the damn RWBY Amity game. Like ffs I wish they put it _in the show._ Instead of just a block of text in a barely-played mobile game.
See, I didn't actually know that. Thanks for letting me know. And yeah, that's something to actually put in the series instead of leaving in a mobile game. I played Amity Arena but I was also young at the time so I was probably paying less attention to Adam. But to sit there and not have that piece of information in the MAIN SERIES is a big issue and only makes his character hollower.
Yeah, you summed him up pretty well as wasted potential. No real backstory to explain anything about him. Nothing to really build on beyond bare basics. His character changes through the series with no explanation. And his end was pathetic being beaten by two girls who he had shown before didn't require any sort of effort from him to defeat. Not too much else to say about that. As for my own story... the Black Trailer and some of the events before Beacon that we did see involving Adam are still happening but with a few minor tweaks and details added. What he does to Blake at Beacon remains the same though with Yang and her arm... he fails to cut through her arm completely, leaving it just barely holding together by some skin. Then he gathers his men and leaves, feeling that they did their part to cause enough damage to Vale and Beacon, not bothering to help Cinder finish her task. Yang later loses her arm thanks to his aura being in the wound and acting as an infection. V4 is where things really change as he was being summoned by Sienna but ignored her until Blake and Sun got to Menagerie and told Ghira what happened at Beacon. Ghira sent a letter to Sienna to come to speak to him in person and that was when Adam finally showed up. But Sienna was feeling rather vindictive to him, having him locked in guest quarters until her return reasoning that if he felt that she could wait so long for his response, she could do the same to him. But while Sienna was gone, Adam broke out and began his coup, leading to a fight between Fang loyalists and those siding with him. Sienna returns to the palace, bringing a small force with her including Blake, Sun, Ghira, Kali, Ilia, and one of my OC's. After fighting their way into the palace, it took the six of them to defeat Adam, though he and the able traitors escape. The team suffered major wounds. Months later, Adam attacks Menagerie with a larger force and with some weapons provided by Watts. The attack doesn't go as well as expected, thanks to Ilia having been playing double agent, and despite nearly killing Ghira and causing a lot of damage, it took a concentrated effort from most of the original team to force Adam to retreat. Then he leads an attack on Mistral, destroying one of the main gates into the kingdom and razing several blocks as a secondary diversion while others plant bombs at Haven. Not all of the bombs are disabled by an outside player, causing some damage to the school and CCT. Further, Adam takes part in the attack inside Haven after having to get away from Sun, Ilia, Blake, and Sienna... even taking Weiss hostage. Thanks to a bit of luck (I won't spoil things too much for those who haven't read the series) Weiss escapes his hold and Adam is forced to flee as he is far outnumbered. He is taken to Salem by Hazel and the others of her group to be officially recruited by the witch herself, being given a special mission by Salem at the last point he is involved... at the current point in the story. I have at least 3 more big fights for him planned, none of them will nerf him as RT did nor will he be driven to insanity over something barely alluded to. So he'll be fun to keep bringing back and I'll give him a proper backstory soon. Just so you all know, my rewrite has three parts as of now. Small Issues (pre-Beacon to beginning of V2- still in progress), Big Issues (complete with 94 chapters), and Larger Issues (just posted the first chapter last week)... all can be found on fanficion dot net.
Amazing. I even liked the idea that he becomes part of Salem's cabal. Salem would definitely keep him on a short leash. That's a missed opportunity. It would be interesting if he considered Cinder his equal despite her being human. Both of them are victims of the Atlas Elite. What's the name of this Fanfic?

Oh my God! Those are actually really good ideas!
@@TwilightWolf032 Exactly!

let's not forget Adam is wasted over a underdeveloped ship

I hate them.
